Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1643: I'm More Than Happy to Be a Foolish Monarch
Alice Turner and Thomas Fisher didn’t want to be disturbed by anyone or anything, so they turned off their phones for the past two days. After breakfast, before heading out, they both turned their phones back on.
The moment they turned them on, the notification sounds for messages started ringing continuously for quite a while before finally quieting down.
Both Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner picked up their phones, and each had many missed calls. Among those missed calls, there were two numbers that appeared on both of their phones.
These two identical numbers, though labeled differently in their phones, belonged to the same person.
“Did my mom call you yesterday?” Alice Turner ignored the other missed calls and focused first on the call from her mother-in-law, Autumn York.
“She called more than once.”
Thomas Fisher held up his phone to Alice Turner, showing her the calls from his mom.
Alice Turner pointed at his phone and asked, “So, are you going to call her back, or should I?”
“I’ll call her back.”
Thomas Fisher raised his phone, held Alice Turner’s hand, and started walking outside, while dialing his mom’s number.
After a few rings, Autumn York picked up the call, and before Thomas Fisher could speak, she immediately started, “You little rascal! Just got married, and look how smug you are. Neglecting the company, not coming home, are you planning to become an absentee ruler?”
The day after getting their marriage license, Autumn York called Thomas Fisher, but heard the phone-off notification several times.
With her son’s phone off, she also tried to call her daughter-in-law, but the result was the same, both phones were off.
She called both of their companies, and the response was the same: neither was at work.
Having been through it herself, Autumn York immediately understood why they were acting this way. Although she was a bit upset, she ultimately couldn’t bring herself to disturb them.
“If mom can take over again, I’d be happy to be an absentee ruler.” But he knew this was impossible, so Thomas Fisher just teased his mom over the phone.
Of course, Autumn York could tell, but she still snapped back with a bit of annoyance, “You wish, ungrateful child.”
“Mom! Do you have any other business? If not, I’ll hang up for now, I’m really busy.” Thomas Fisher knew his mom would react like this and wasn’t at all surprised or angry, not even a bit displeased.
Autumn York thought Thomas Fisher found her bothersome, so her tone and attitude worsened, “You little punk, got married and now you don’t care about your parents. How successful you are now, I…”
“Mom! You’re breaking your son’s heart here. I definitely didn’t abandon you and Dad.” Thomas Fisher quickly interrupted Autumn York, not letting her continue, unsure what else she might say to pierce his heart.
Autumn York didn’t care about Thomas Fisher’s groaning and continued exposing his flaws with annoyance, “If you care about us, why aren’t you coming home? Isn’t it because you find us bothersome? You’ve just gotten married and already you’re tired of us. Who knows how you’ll feel after time passes? If we’d known you’d be so unfilial, we wouldn’t have had you back then.”
“Mom! You’re getting more and more outrageous, if…”
Just as Thomas Fisher was arguing back, Alice Turner suddenly reached out and took his phone.
