Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1634: Whether Someone Gets Married Is None of Your Business
Although Alice Turner only said a few words, it was enough to shock Autumn York. She had always thought that Alice and Benjamin Shaw remarrying was the wisest choice, but hearing Alice say this, she suddenly had a different idea.
She stared at the person next to her for a while, but ultimately said nothing. Her mood was a bit complex and chaotic, and she couldn’t quite figure it out herself.
Seeing that Autumn York was just staring at her without any intention of speaking, with her beautiful eyes full of complex emotions, Alice furrowed her brows slightly, "Mom! Why are you looking at me like that? Did I say something wrong?"
She carefully recalled everything but couldn’t find anything wrong in what she said.
But why was her mother-in-law looking at her like that? The complex emotions in her mother-in-law’s eyes were something she couldn’t quite understand.
"You really surprised me."
Autumn York replied somewhat off-topic, and after saying that, she silently turned her head and shifted her gaze elsewhere.
Really surprised?
What does mother-in-law mean by that?
Alice Turner was now even more confused, but seeing that Autumn York didn’t plan to engage any further, she knew that asking more would definitely yield no answers.
She might as well go back and slowly ponder it herself, and not bother her mother-in-law now, lest she really annoy her and it’s all over.
Autumn York quietly said nothing, and Alice Turner didn’t speak anymore either, the two silently walked together.
Although they both stopped speaking, the atmosphere was no longer awkward as before; the silence between them unexpectedly carried a touch of harmony.
"Alice! Out for a walk too, you busy woman?" As she reached the small garden, Alice Turner encountered Aunt Wang, who greeted her warmly.
Alice returned Aunt Wang’s friendly smile, "I’m out walking with my mother-in-law."
"This isn’t your previous mother-in-law, did you get married again?" Aunt Wang, without any malice, blurted it out as she was straightforward by nature.
Knowing Aunt Wang was like this, Alice’s smile remained undiminished as she nodded generously to Aunt Wang, "Yes, I got married again."
"Aunt Wang! We’ll head over there."
Worried that Aunt Wang might accidentally say something too blunt, she led her mother-in-law to another area, and didn’t forget to say goodbye to Aunt Wang as they left.
Autumn wasn’t aware that Aunt Wang was a well-meaning person. What had just transpired made her classify Aunt Wang as a gossip-loving busybody. She glanced at Aunt Wang with a face full of disdain.
"Whether someone gets married or not is none of your business, just take your walk, minding other people’s business." It sounded like she was talking to herself but also expressing dissatisfaction towards Aunt Wang.
Although Autumn’s muttering was quiet, Alice still heard it. She knew her mother-in-law had mistakenly classified Aunt Wang as a busybody, but she didn’t offer any explanation.
Because arguing against her mother-in-law’s viewpoint over an outsider wasn’t worth it to her.
Alice pretended not to hear what Autumn had just said, holding her arm while continuing to walk along the pebble path in the small garden, her expression calm and unfazed by the earlier incident.
Seeing her like this, Autumn beside her felt somewhat puzzled and even a little dissatisfied, "Hey! What’s with you, girl? You have a lot to say when confronting me, but when that woman says such things, you act like you don’t care."
