Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1509: He Lost Control
Benjamin Shaw looked at Alice Turner sitting across from him, feeling particularly uneasy. She had asked to meet him today only to sever their ties.
She didn’t want to have any more entanglements with him, and if possible, she might not even want to acknowledge that he was her ex-husband, right?
She was doing this for only one person, and that was her current fiancé, who was also his good friend.
"Since you want to speak openly, I can only comply with your wishes." Benjamin took a deep breath, and then he spoke again, "Alice! I’ve fallen in love with you."
These words had been bottled up in Benjamin’s heart for a long time. Saying them out loud today made him feel a lot lighter, yet he also felt a tense anticipation within.
He looked at the woman across from him, feeling especially apprehensive, unsure of how she would respond.
Although Alice had vaguely sensed Benjamin’s feelings for her in recent days, hearing him confess his love still caught her by surprise and shock.
She hadn’t expected him to fall in love with her. Five years ago, he had utterly despised her; he even scornfully said she was worse than a pig.
"Benjamin! Do you think it’s appropriate to say such things to me now? I am Thomas’s fiancée, you..."
"So what if you’re his fiancée? Five years ago, you were my wife, and he still came to meddle with you."
The incident of Thomas Fisher undermining him five years ago had always been an insurmountable obstacle in Benjamin’s mind. He had been entangled with this issue over the years.
Benjamin was particularly sensitive about this matter, and hearing Alice bring it up today caused him to erupt suddenly.
Fueled by anger, Benjamin almost yelled at Alice, his eyes bloodshot, his face overcome with rage.
He looked like an enraged lion, with Alice seemingly becoming the target of his attack.
Even during the times when their relationship was bad five years ago, Benjamin had never treated Alice like this; at most, he would sarcastically and disdainfully critique her.
It was the first time she had seen him so angry; if her heart wasn’t strong enough, she definitely would have been scared by his current demeanor.
Benjamin’s yelling drew the attention of those around them, and curious glances began to drift their way.
Noticing the stares from those around them, he turned his head and saw that everyone was watching the two of them.
He quickly suppressed the anger within him, took a deep breath, and tried to return his emotions to normal.
"I’m sorry! I lost control just now." After calming down, Benjamin immediately realized he had overreacted and quickly apologized to Alice.
"Five years ago, it was I who initiated contact with Thomas; he didn’t come to entangle me." Alice stared blankly at Benjamin for a moment before speaking indifferently.
She wasn’t trying to absolve Thomas of responsibility; it was indeed her initiative five years ago.
If she hadn’t called him that night, the two of them might never have been together.
She couldn’t let him take the blame for her. He had already endured too many unpleasant things for her and shouldn’t have to bear more mental burden.
Moreover, she couldn’t let any unpleasant situations arise between him and his good friend; it would be hard for him, and if he felt bad, she wouldn’t be happy either.
