Chapter 1508: I Went Too Far With You Five Years Ago

Hearing that Anthony wasn’t the one in trouble, Alice Turner let out a long breath of relief. Benjamin Shaw had been watching her, and her relaxed expression was crystal clear to him.

Why was she so nervous about that guy named Anthony? Could it be that she liked him?

But why did she agree to Thomas’s proposal then?

Seeing the man return to normal in a matter of seconds, Alice Turner no longer insisted on leaving. She sat properly back in her seat, looked at the man across from her, and slowly spoke, "In that case, I won’t stand on ceremony."

Seeing him only looking at her in confusion and not intending to interrupt, she continued, "I think you probably already know about Thomas and me, right? Five years ago, when we divorced, I promised you I would stay away from Thomas.

But I realized I couldn’t do it, so please don’t talk to Thomas about it anymore.

Everything is my fault. If there’s anything you’re unhappy about, you can come directly to me."

She said a lot in one breath, fearing if she didn’t speak now, the words wouldn’t come out.

"Did you come to meet me today just to tell me this?" Benjamin Shaw stared unblinkingly at Alice Turner sitting in front of him, as if he wanted to see through her into her heart.

His gaze was so penetrating that Alice felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at, although she still appeared quite at ease on the surface. "I think there are some things we should clarify to avoid any awkwardness when we meet in the future."

"Yes! We should clarify things," Benjamin Shaw paused before continuing, "I went too far with you five years ago, and now I sincerely apologize."

Before his voice faded, he stood up and gave her a deep bow with a serious expression, saying he was sorry.

Alice Turner hadn’t expected Benjamin Shaw to do this and was momentarily stunned. By the time she regained her senses, he had already returned to his seat.

"You don’t have to do that. I didn’t bring this up to make you apologize. I just wanted to clarify things between us so we won’t feel awkward when we meet in the future." Inevitably, they would see each other sometime, and if it were awkward, she thought it would be uncomfortable for all three of them.
