Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 360: Ch 359: We’re together - Part 1
Lyra’s smile widened at the looks of jealousy that were aimed her way. She could feel that there was so much these people wanted to say to her, but they were holding back.
And she was a proud person.
But more than that, it was in her nature to flaunt her superiority, so she grabbed Kael’s arm and confidently presented him in front of the others.
"That’s right! We started dating today, so I hope you will all give us your blessing. I promise I will do what I can to make Kael happy."
She gave a mocking bow to Seraphina and Iris, causing their bad moods to worsen. The tense air somehow got worse, and Leon decided that it would be for the best to change the topic before something major happened.
"Well, dating is fine and all, but we still need to be concerned about our work schedule. So we should all go to sleep now."
He pointed out, and Lyra pouted before she started whining. But this time, Kael was in agreement with Leon and patted her on the head.
"Leon is right, Lyra. We need to go to sleep now. There is a ton of work we need to finish before the new recruits join the guild, and I don’t want to dump all the work on my juniors."
Kael reminded her, and her pouting eased a little bit. But she still did not look happy with this decision.
"Fine. But we better go on another date soon. There is so much I want to do with you."
She spoke and finally let go. She, along with the others, headed to their rooms, and Kael let out a sigh.
Leon, who watched this from the sidelines, placed a hand on Kael’s shoulder out of sympathy.
"I hope you know what you have done by deciding to date Lyra. Your life could have been normal, but you chose to make it stressful."
Leon pointed out, and Kael let out a sigh.
He understood what Leon was saying. But at the same time...
"There are only so many times I can pretend not to see or hear. Lyra confessed to me too many times for me to feel comfortable ignoring her. That is all."
Kael pointed out, and Leon hesitantly nodded. But it was clear that he was not happy with this outcome.
Anyway, this relationship had nothing to do with him anyway, so Kael chose to ignore him and return to his room.
...
"Hmmm, what a nice day it was. And it ended perfectly as well... if not for you two. Do you need anything? Can I help you?"
Lyra looked at the other two following behind her back to her room, and she could not help but tease them a little.
But she deserved it after having fought fair and square for Kael’s attention. It was not her fault the other two were cowards and never said anything about their feelings.
And now it was too late.
"Lyra, I don’t want to hurt you, so I will openly ask you—what did you do to make Kael ask you out? As far as I know, he is not interested in dating, because if he was, then I—"
"Hey, don’t pin it on me. You are the one who decided that Kael is not interested in dating. Did he ever say as much with his own mouth?"
Lyra asked, causing Seraphina to be taken aback.
"Well, no... but..."
"You made it up on your own and decided that it was an accepted fact. Why are you blaming Kael for it now? As for my relationship with him..."
She looked back at the other two with an enigmatic smile.
"It’s simple. I confessed to him, and he accepted me, and we decided to date. There was no trick involved."
The other two looked like they still did not believe Lyra, so there was only so much she could do without tipping them off.
And it was not like she owed these people anything either.
"Hey, just so we are clear—the one dating Kael is me. So you all better keep your distance from him. No matter how much you like him, he is a taken man now."
Lyra felt like she had to say these words out loud if she did not want these people to misunderstand what she was saying.
There was an awkward silence before Seraphina decided to head to her room. She slammed her door hard, indicating that her mood was foul.
As for Iris...
She looked distraught as well, but unlike Seraphina, she did not slam her door shut. Instead, she looked on with an almost guilty expression before she bowed and left.
Lyra watched them leave and let out a small sigh before entering her own room. She had expected some resistance, but the reactions had been more intense than she had imagined.
Still, she could not bring herself to feel guilty.
She had spent so long chasing after Kael while the others kept their feelings hidden. Now that she had finally been given a chance, she had no intention of throwing it away.
But the moment she closed the door behind her, her confident expression disappeared.
She leaned against the door and covered her face with both hands. They were shaking but in a good way.
’I actually did it... I am really dating Kael.’
The thought alone was enough to make her face heat up again and she tried to calm her hot cheeks down.
She had spent countless nights imagining what it would be like to have Kael accept her feelings, but reality was far more overwhelming than anything she had imagined.
Especially because he had been so gentle with her.
Lyra slowly walked toward her bed and fell onto it, burying her face into the pillow.
’I need to calm down. If I keep acting like this, I am going to embarrass myself in front of him.’
Unfortunately, that thought did nothing to help.
