Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 272: Ch 271: What she wants
It felt weird to have the corruption touch Kael like this. He could feel the slimy feeling of the corruption’s touch making his face go numb, but his eyes remained on the corruption that was getting clearer and clearer by the second.
The features of the creature that the corruption was trying to form were getting more and more defined until Kael could make out the bridge of her nose as well as her mouth.
He had a feeling that it wouldn’t be long before the corruption started to change into a person completely.
"So, what are you going to do once you regain your power? This world has changed a lot compared to what you recall. Is it truly not possible for you to give up on revenge and live an honest life from here on out? It might not be too late for you still."
Kael tried to reason with the corruption even after knowing that it was a fruitless endeavor. There was no way the corruption was ever going to back down.
As expected, the goddess just laughed at his words. But it was far from an amused laugh. Instead, it was one filled with mockery and regret.
"Ah, my dear sweet follower, you are just as naive as I recalled you being. Don’t you realize that it’s too late for me to go back? I have already turned my back on the other gods. Now, there is truly no other place for me to go."
She told Kael with a straight face, and he had a feeling that the goddess was not going to listen to him anymore.
Still, Kael felt like he had to try. He wanted to save the world...no, save those kids that were trying their best. None of them deserved to live their lives as someone else, especially not as a part of the corruption.
His worries must have been showing on his face because the corruption rubbed his cheeks affectionately before it spoke in a sweet and calm voice.
"Don’t worry about those kids. They won’t hurt once they come back to me. They were originally a part of me, and they long to return to me as well. But as for that hero..."
The corruption’s lips were pulled up in disgust, and Kael had a sudden urge to shield Leon from her. He had a feeling that the corruption would eat Leon alive if it ever got a chance to do so.
His expression showed his disgust and annoyance, which made the corruption sigh.
"Well, the hero is someone dear to you, so I will think about what to do with him. But I think the outcome is pretty clear."
The corruption’s touch was getting more and more insistent, and Kael felt like a prized pet under her heavy gaze. And yet, he could not tear his eyes away from the goddess, who was taking care to be gentle with him.
"Anyway, we’ve had enough chatter. I only wanted to show you all this because you deserved to know what this world did to me and why I became as bitter as I did. Soon, this world will face the consequences for taking you away from me. And once it does, I can return it to how it was before that outsider came here."
The voice was clearly agitated, and Kael wanted to say that he understood the corruption. But in reality, he was too tired to do that anymore.
The mass of corruption did not seem to expect much from him either because it stretched out to lightly touch Kael’s shoulder before he felt himself get pushed.
"My dear follower looks like he is too tired to deal with all this. But it is alright. You should go and take a light nap to clear your head. Your goddess will take care of everything from here on out."
The corruption promised, and Kael felt his eyes becoming heavier. He could also feel some sort of foreign power wrapping around him, and the last thing he saw was the corruption’s smile before he felt his body submerging into sleep.
...
The corruption watched Kael fall asleep with a small smile on its unformed face. Once Kael was settled, its eyes finally turned to look at the boundary of magic it had cast.
Someone was trying to break into the enclosure and get to him. That insistent knocking was getting on the goddess’s nerves.
That made her open her power to see who that bastard disturbing her was. And as soon as she opened the hatch, a fast person snuck inside and grabbed Kael.
"You snooze, you lose."
The silver-haired, petite demon king yelled before she took Kael in her arms and dragged him out.
But the corruption had no need to follow that pathetic demon king right now. Whatever she wanted to tell Kael had already been said by her. Now, it was up to Kael to sort it all out in his mind...
Not that it mattered because Kael was going to come back to her one way or another in the future. It was only a matter of time.
"I can allow these kids to play a little more while I complete the preparations. Soon, this world and everyone who tried to suppress me will suffer the consequences. And then, my beloved and I will be able to live happily ever after."
The goddess whispered her wish, but she was not going to wait for the heavens to give it to her.
Instead, she was going to grab it by hand and seize the opportunity herself. That way, she would never have to worry about Kael being taken away from her again.
"Ah, I miss you already..."
She whispered, only to feel a familiar tug at her powers. Someone was calling out to her in order to borrow her powers, and she knew that it was Lumi Lena, that ancient witch.
Speaking of opportunities, it was time to get rid of Lumi as well since she had started to get on the goddess’s nerves now.
