Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder’s Record of Counterattacks
Chapter 3647: Ghosts Everywhere (19)
Ning Shu was annoyed by Song Mo’s enigmatic behavior. He kept changing from one moment to the next. Perhaps someone was projecting their consciousness onto him, which would explain why he was acting like such a psycho!
And now, this Song Mo didn’t know anything at all?
“It’s nothing,” Ning Shu said indifferently.
“What’s wrong with you?” Song Mo asked. He handed her the breakfast. “Eat.”
Ning Shu hummed in response. Looking at Song Mo in his turtleneck, she reached out and patted his face. The sensation was real.
“What are you doing?” Song Mo looked at her, bewildered by her strange behavior.
Ning Shu suspected that Song Mo’s existence was meant to monitor her.
Seeing his moronic look, she reached out and pinched his cheeks. She grabbed the flesh and kneaded it back and forth until his face was unrecognizable.
“Wh-what are you doing…” Song Mo asked, his voice muffled.
Ning Shu closed her eyes and released her spiritual consciousness. She inspected him thoroughly, scanning every inch including his heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys.
Finally, she caught a glimpse of his true form: a skeletal frame.
Ning Shu was at a loss.
She hadn’t checked Song Mo’s condition before.
But Song Mo would suddenly drop hints about hypnosis, tell her to work hard to survive, and cause all sorts of trouble.
Once, he even plunged a knife into her chest, making her highly suspicious of his actions.
This situation was a classic case of being betrayed by someone you trusted. It was incredibly despair-inducing.
However, Ning Shu’s heart remained unmoved. She wouldn’t pin her hopes on Song Mo in the first place.
Since she didn’t expect anything from him, there was no betrayal and no painful sense of letdown.
She let go of his face and shoved a bun into his mouth. “Eat this. Eat more.”
Song Mo was choked by her crude action and his eyes rolled back. He had to take a sip of water before he could swallow. Ning Shu used her spiritual consciousness to track what he ate. He didn’t have internal organs, so the food wouldn’t be digested in his stomach at all.
Ning Shu smiled slightly. Then, she grabbed a chair and swung it at his head. She knocked his head clean off. It slammed against the wall with a loud thud and fell to the floor.
Song Mo’s expression was distorted, a mix of shock and confusion.
His body collapsed onto the floor, turning into a pile of bones that clattered into a heap.
Even his head turned into bone.
Ning Shu put the chair down and brushed the dust off her hands.
You really thought I’d thank your whole family after you stabbed me?
Who were the people around her—the ones in the dorm and the students on the campus?
She released her spiritual consciousness to scan the students passing by. They were all skeletons wrapped in a layer of skin that made them look like people.
“Still sleeping? Get up…”
Someone shook her awake. Ning Shu snapped her eyes open and realized she was in her dormitory.
So, that was another dream?
Song Mo was a skeleton, and everyone else was a skeleton too.
Ning Shu released her spiritual consciousness to scan her roommates. They had beating hearts and internal organs. They were living, breathing people.
They weren’t skeletons!
Ning Shu: …
This constant mixing of truth and lies kept overturning her theories. It seemed like she was dreaming.
It wasn’t real.
The corner of Ning Shu’s mouth twitched.
She decided not to go to class. She just lay in bed without moving. Since it was all fake, what was the point of going to class?
Seeing that she wasn’t moving, her roommates didn’t say anything and left for class one by one.
Ning Shu watched her busy roommates. Were their consciousnesses independent, or were they being controlled?
Her head felt like it was going to explode and her soul was incredibly exhausted from overthinking. Plus, she had risked her soul earlier to inspect the world.
She got out of bed and looked at the sky. The sun was so bright it was impossible to look at directly.
She quickly looked down, squinted, and sat cross-legged to begin cultivating. Since the sunlight was so intense, there should be Power of the Sun. She wanted to see if she could cultivate it.
A tiny amount of solar energy merged into her dantian. Ning Shu’s expression shifted.
In the previous world, everything was distorted and the magnetic field was chaotic, making cultivation impossible. Now, although there was only a sliver of power, it meant this world was becoming stable.
The more stable the world became, the harder it would be for her to leave.
This was no simple hypnosis!
That fashion disaster Song Mo was lying!
Ning Shu felt a surge of anxiety. If she didn’t get out soon, she would be trapped here forever, cycling through endless dreams.
The entrustor must be dead!
She wondered how the entrustor had offered her soul for a counterattack under these conditions.
Ning Shu stopped cultivating. Although she had a bit of energy, it was useless. She had to find a way to leave.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t finish the counterattack and would end up trapped here herself.
Knock, knock, knock…
There was a knock at the door. Ning Shu opened it to see Song Mo.
“Are you sick?” he asked.
Ning Shu: …
Seeing this guy again made her feel utterly helpless.
Why did he keep popping up at random times?
“What are you doing here?” Ning Shu looked at him. “This is a girls’ dormitory.”
“I asked your roommates and they said you didn’t go to class, so I came to check on you. I brought some food and medicine—it’s all for colds.”
As he spoke, he pulled items out of a bag. There was food and medicine.
Looking at him now, he seemed like the perfect boyfriend.
She couldn’t tell if he was a friend or a foe. He was practically a split personality.
No, she was the one about to have a split personality. The Song Mo she encountered each time was never quite the same.
Ning Shu thanked him calmly. “Thanks. You should go. This is a girls’ dorm.”
She didn’t want to deal with him anymore. Every interaction yielded nothing useful, and she might still be dreaming anyway.
In short, she didn’t know if she was currently asleep and dreaming, or if the dream had ended.
Song Mo nodded and reached out to touch her forehead. “You’re a bit warm. You’re sick.”
You’re the one who’s sick!
Ning Shu felt perfectly fine. She didn’t have a cold or a fever.
“Feel it for yourself.” Song Mo took out the medicine and popped two pills for her. “Take this.”
“I’m fine. I don’t need medicine,” Ning Shu said flatly.
“You’re sick.”
“I’m not.”
“You really are sick.”
“Dammit, I’m not sick!”
She felt refreshed and energetic. How could she be sick?
Song Mo didn’t force her anymore. He set the pills aside. “Take them if you feel unwell. I’m going now, Shi Mei…”
“Mm…” Ning Shu looked at him as he hesitated to speak. “What is it?”
“Is there something about me that dissatisfies you? Your attitude makes me very uncomfortable,” Song Mo said. “Back when you pursued me, was it just for vanity? Does having me as your boyfriend satisfy your pride?”
