Protect Our Chief
Chapter 1236 - 8: The Wang Family’s Great Sinkhole! The Crimson Moon Revealed (Part 2)
In his heart, he felt a hundred kinds of regret, having scarcely exchanged a few words with the two "fairies" before they started devouring their meals... It was mainly because he was too thin-skinned; every time the waiter asked if he wanted to refill a dish, his pride wouldn’t allow him to decline.
And so, accidentally, the meal ended up costing him over a hundred thousand immortal crystals...
But he couldn’t blame the fairies; before they started eating, they had already made it clear that they had a big appetite. It was he himself who had patted his chest and said they could eat however much they wanted.
The most important thing is, if he were to blame them now, wouldn’t those hundreds of thousands of immortal crystals have gone down the drain?
The sunk cost was too high; how could he bear to "accuse" them? At worst, once he reached East Qian, he could just find a job. With his status and power as a Great Celestial Pride of the Purple Mansion, making money in a small place like East Qian shouldn’t be difficult, right?
Immediately, Jiang Xingyuan continued with a graceful demeanor: "I must have amused you two fairies, as this time it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to visit the East Qian Kingdom, and I didn’t prepare enough travel funds. I, Jiang Xingyuan, am a promising Great Celestial Pride of the Immortal Palace, with a bright future..."
"Sorry, our ancestors instructed us not to make friends with bad people while traveling," Lan Wan’er said, pulling up Wang Lici to leave.
"Bad guys? How did I suddenly become a bad guy?" Jiang Xingyuan looked utterly confused. Did he have the words ’bad guy’ carved on his forehead?
"That someone named Strategy is Sister Lici’s enemy; her enemies are my enemies, and since you’re friends with my enemy, you’re a bad guy," Lan Wan’er explained earnestly, illustrating her simply complex worldview.
"Ah, this... but it’s just different factions, it’s not about good or evil."
"If the factions are different, all the more reason not to make friends. Would you befriends with a bad guy from the Red Moon Demon Dynasty?"
"Ah, this..."
And with that, Lan Wan’er promptly led Wang Lici away, with an expression of considerable disdain.
At that moment, Jiang Xingyuan felt full of grievance; those hundreds of thousands of immortal crystals had just been wasted, and he hadn’t even made friends with the two fairies, let alone the deeper relationship he had hoped for.
"Why don’t we temporarily break off our friendship for a while, Brother Jiang?" Gongyang Strategy kindly suggested.
"No, Younger Brother Gong Yang, you must win, win beautifully, and avenge me. Boohoo~"
As the saying goes, a real man doesn’t easily weep, only when truly heartbroken.
...
While waves from the struggle for the Saint Son were stirring at the Lingyun Sacred Land, far away in the Land of the Far West, another disturbance was gradually brewing.
In the northwest of the Land of the Far West lies a vast and magnificent mountain range, rising endlessly like a barrier between heaven and earth. Snow remains year-round at the peaks of the Saint Mountains, looking like an icy world from afar, extremely desolate.
This mountain range is named "Infinite Sacred Mountain".
The Yin Sha Sect is located atop this Celestial Extreme Sacred Mountain.
Legend has it that this Infinite Sacred Mountain was once a part of the Outer Immortal Realm, where an Ice Attribute Profound Ice Phoenix nearly reached Great Power in the True Demon Realm in cultivation.
Because of this, the mountain range earned its name of "Saint Mountain".
Later, the Profound Ice Phoenix was slain by a Great Power. Its unresolved resentment after death transformed into the boundless Yin Sha Evil Qi, pervading the world, corroding the land, and polluting the Spirit Vein. Gradually, the entire mountain range mutated from a once-fertile Immortal Realm to what resembles a Ghost Realm.
Common Spirit Plants and Fierce Beasts could no longer survive in this mountain range. Only special kinds of Exotic Plants, Demonic Plants, and unique Demon Beasts stained with Evil Qi could live here.
The area spans tens of thousands of miles, yet is sparsely populated.
Whether this legend is true or not can no longer be verified, but the dense Yin Sha Evil Qi within the Infinite Sacred Mountain is undeniably real. The founding Ancestor of the Yin Sha Sect chose this location exactly for that reason, establishing their sect here.
The Infinite Sacred Mountain already had dense Evil Qi. Over the years, the strong of the Yin Sha Sect continued to relocate discovered Evil Acupoints here, gradually intensifying the sect’s Evil Qi to an awe-inspiring level.
Ordinary people without cultivation cannot survive in such an environment.
The back mountain of the Yin Sha Sect.
This is the area with the densest evil aura within the entire Yin Sha Sect, where thick Yin Sha Evil Qi almost liquefies. Amidst this incredibly concentrated Evil Qi stands a small black pavilion made entirely of refined metal.
This small pavilion is the retreat of the Yin Sha Sect Leader, Yin Sha Demon Monarch Qee Hongzhao.
The place is heavily guarded, not only protected by an array, but also patrolled by disciples around the clock, prohibiting any heedless cultivators from approaching. It is, without a doubt, the most heavily defended place within the entire Yin Sha Sect’s domain.
White bony lanterns float in the air at various points, emitting a pale yet bright light.
Under the light, several youths clad in Yin Sha Sect disciple’s attire march past. Following them are numbers of corpse puppets nearly two to three times their number.
The level of these corpse puppets is not low, and they have been obviously refined with special methods, their bodies gleaming with a metallic luster and moving without much delay.
A thick stench of rot spreads from them, making the area within a hundred zhang radius around them unbearably foul, yet the Yin Sha Sect disciples remain indifferent, clearly accustomed to it.
Suddenly, in the darkness, beams of dark cyan radiance flickered to life.
A figure appeared before the patrolling disciples, as if through instant teleportation.
It was a dry, skinny old man who seemed about fifty years old.
