Chapter 1842: Chapter 1845: Obedience

"Get to the point."

Lu Xiaobu looked at the old man.

The information the old man revealed was more or less the same, basically matching what he had guessed.

"Join forces and wipe out those minions!"

The killing intent in the old man’s eyes began to spread again: "Though ’Lord’ sounds all mighty and invincible, all his methods rest on those minions as a foundation. Without them, he can’t do anything! As long as we completely eradicate his minions on this layer, he’ll no longer have any Control Power over this layer!"

"Kill his minions? Isn’t it impossible to affect reality here?"

Lu Xiaobu asked curiously.

"Ordinary attacks naturally can’t kill them, but that doesn’t mean it’s absolutely impossible." The old man smiled.

Then he shifted the topic: "However, I’m sure you understand this isn’t something you can casually tell others. So, if you want to know more, you can come find me tomorrow. Decide then whether to join us or not; for today, you can think it over carefully."

"Alright."

Lu Xiaobu nodded with a smile.

Knowing the basic info and knowing the ultimate goal was enough; the process still needed more observation.

In this kind of matter, neither side would just bare their hearts at the first meeting.

...

The old man left Lu Xiaobu’s side.

Not long after he left, he met another person.

Also an old man.

"Silver Fox, how did it go?"

The second old man opened a Domain as he asked the first old man.

Silver Fox was the codename of the first old man. People here generally didn’t use their real names, instead casually picking a codename, like an online handle.

The second old man was called Huang Tu, which was quite down-to-earth.

"Just a newbie, what’s so hard about handling him? Reveal a bit of information and the kid’s already confused; he’ll definitely come tomorrow!"

The look Silver Fox now had on his face was nothing like when he was chatting with Lu Xiaobu earlier; the corners of his mouth curled up, looking entirely as if everything was in his grasp.

"Better safe than sorry. Have you forgotten the last newbie? That guy named Lin Feng!" Huang Tu shook his head, warning: "Don’t forget, this guy started cozying up to that Lin Feng the moment he arrived!"

"That’s true!" Thinking of this, Silver Fox secretly gritted his teeth: "Who would have thought that newbie would be that crafty! Such a pity about Tianbao! I hear he’s already kicked the bucket, can’t even be a Loose Cultivator anymore!"

What he’d told Lu Xiaobu earlier wasn’t all lies; most of it was true!

It’s just that their goal was not simply to pull Lu Xiaobu into their organization; they wanted to get the coordinates of Lu Xiaobu’s island from him!

As long as they got the coordinates, this guy wouldn’t be able to refuse joining them even if he wanted to!

If he dared betray them, they would pool everyone’s Strength and completely eliminate Lu Xiaobu in reality!

They’d always done things this way; in fact, this was how he himself had been dragged onto this ship!

It was just that last time they slipped up and got played in turn by that newbie called Lin Feng!

This wasn’t just a loss in combat Strength; it was a humiliation!

"Yeah."

Huang Tu also sighed.

None of them had expected that just a newbie would be that devious, leaving them losing both the bride and their troops!

"But there’s no need to worry. I don’t believe there’s a second Lin Feng. Besides, we’ve already learned our lesson and changed tactics. We’re no longer using that old leaky method. As long as this kid shows up tomorrow, he’ll definitely be in our bag!"

Silver Fox shook his head, pushing away the worries in his mind, and spoke with iron certainty.

"Mm, our new method indeed patches up the previous flaws. Even if he catches on, as long as he comes, it won’t be up to him anymore!"

Huang Tu thought it over and finally nodded.

He still had confidence in their new method; otherwise he wouldn’t have let Silver Fox make a move.

What he’d said just now was mostly idle lamenting; an old friend who’d been with them for many years was gone, so of course he felt a bit of sorrow.

...

On the other side.

Lin Feng, who had just manifested, still had a contemplative look in his eyes; clearly there were some questions he hadn’t figured out yet.

Before long, someone appeared beside him. The person said nothing, just stood there quietly.

"They’ve made their move?"

After a moment, clarity returned to Lin Feng’s eyes. He turned to look at that person and asked.

"Yes. They sent out Silver Fox and have already made contact with that Lu Xiaobu."

The person replied in a muffled voice, with no joy or anger audible in it.

"Good." Lin Feng smiled. "Looks like this time we can catch them all in one net!"

"You trust him that much? He’s clearly just a newbie, doesn’t know anything!" The man’s expression was strange. "If he gets duped, then we’ll be the ones in trouble!"

"Relax. Those guys aren’t capable of fooling this one. What we should worry about is not getting fooled by him instead!"

Lin Feng narrowed his eyes, a smile appearing on his face.

"Why didn’t you just tell him about the Domain? If you had, your conversation wouldn’t have been monitored by Lord!"

The man asked again, a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone.

He wasn’t Lin Feng’s subordinate, just a partner.

He was clearly very displeased that Lin Feng had met this newbie on his own initiative and hadn’t used a Domain to cover them, letting Lord monitor them.

If their plan was ruined because of this, they would all pay a heavy price!

"We have our own way of communicating; no need to explain it to you!"

A cold gleam flashed in Lin Feng’s eyes.

He most disliked others nitpicking him on matters like this!

What information to exchange with Lu Xiaobu, what information not to exchange, what he was unwilling to exchange, and what information exchange would break the pattern between the two of them—these things were their own unspoken rules, and it wasn’t anyone else’s place to comment!

"Fine! I won’t ask! But let me remind you, this isn’t some trivial matter. If we’re exposed, none of us will get off easy!"

Having been snapped at, the man’s voice carried anger now, but more of it was him suppressing his own fury!

Although this newbie hadn’t been around long, some of the things he’d done had earned their recognition; that was why they were willing to listen to a newbie in the first place!

Of course, that didn’t include the matter of meeting another newbie!

Meeting that newbie and not using a Domain, brazenly exposing them to Lord’s surveillance—this was sheer stupidity!

"I’m a lot clearer on this than you! If you don’t have the brains, then just do as you’re told!"

Lin Feng said coldly.

"Fine! I’ll do as I’m told!"

The man answered through gritted teeth, then flicked his sleeve and left!

Utterly unreasonable!

He had to think about whether he should prepare a backup plan!
