Chapter 1841 - 1844: The Beggar and the Emperor
Chapter 1841: Chapter 1844: The Beggar and the Emperor
Lu Xiaobu obtained what he wanted.
Just as he thought, it wasn’t complicated, easy to learn, but the name was quite mind-blowing.
It’s the legendary domain.
However, it didn’t have the mind-blowing power.
Walking along, Lu Xiaobu pondered something.
It seemed possible to obtain many things through some means!
Like dealing with that middle-aged man just now.
Even though he always compared the matters here to the internet, seeing those people standing before him, he still had some difficulty shifting his perspective.
But now, he was starting to change!
Just think of this place as the internet, and a wilder version of it!
Act with no hesitation.
Lu Xiaobu curled his lips into an evil smile and walked towards those unsuspecting sheep!
However, before he could get close, someone approached him first.
Not exactly a stranger, someone he had seen before.
It’s the old man who wanted to refine the Tomato Egg Pill.
"Hey, kid, what are you planning with that mischievous smile?"
The old man looked at Lu Xiaobu warily, slowly walking over.
"I should be asking you that."
Lu Xiaobu laughed: "You deliberately came to find me, didn’t you?"
"Knew you were a smart one."
The old man laughed, extending a hand, and a transparent hemisphere expanded with him at the center.
This is the domain.
"Looks like it’s something big, seeing that I’m new, are you planning to recruit me?"
Lu Xiaobu snapped his fingers, a sofa appeared beneath him, he sat down and said with a smile to the old man.
"Correct!"
The old man said smilingly, creating a small stool to sit on, looking quite like a laid-back farmer.
"So, tell me, what should I know, or what do you want to tell me?"
Lu Xiaobu stretched lazily, someone came to him, so he might as well hear them out.
"I assume when you first arrived, a guard already introduced the basic situation here. This is the Spirit Realm, a good place for self-cultivation, and you can also indulge yourself without restraint." The old man continued with a smile.
Then, he changed the subject: "However, kid, do you know what the main purpose of this place is? Why do people like us stay here for so long?"
"Listening attentively."
Lu Xiaobu smiled.
"Alright, then I’ll speak directly," the old man nodded: "For us cultivators, no matter the reason we embark on the path of cultivation, ultimately it’s about achieving higher cultivation and obtaining greater strength, this cannot be denied!"
"You’re saying there’s a method in the Spirit Realm to gain greater strength, or even break through Mahayana?"
Lu Xiaobu wasn’t surprised, this was basic speculation, he didn’t even bother thinking it through, he was merely prompting the old man to continue.
"Exactly, you don’t need to pretend, everyone has thought of this," the old man chuckled: "When we vie for even a tiny bit of the core control, we end up here, and striving for the remaining control is near impossible. To say there’s nothing peculiar about this place, who would believe it?"
Lu Xiaobu smiled slightly, gesturing for the old man to continue.
"This place is attached to the interior of the World Tree."
The old man smilingly threw out a shocking revelation.
"World Tree? The World Tree?"
Lu Xiaobu was genuinely shocked.
He had too little information on cultivation topics, never expecting the place to be attached to the fabled World Tree!
"Of course, it’s that World Tree; otherwise, why do we have the right to come here once we’ve touched the core and seized some of its control?"
The old man was pleased with Lu Xiaobu’s reaction and continued.
"The core absorbs energy by linking with the World Tree, strengthening itself. As for the so-called control, most of it refers to this energy absorption path; you might call it the ’Dao’!"
"As the saying goes ’enlightenment,’ it’s only at our level that true enlightenment begins!"
"The higher your enlightenment, the deeper your command of the Dao, the greater your control over the core, and naturally, the more powerful you become!"
"This is the fundamental reason we linger here; otherwise, simply indulging desires wouldn’t be worth staying for!"
The old man spoke earnestly, and Lu Xiaobu knew there was no need for deception on this matter, as given some time, the truth would reveal itself.
"Then if it’s a place for enlightenment, why doesn’t everyone focus on that? Why all the eating, drinking, and playing?" Lu Xiaobu asked curiously.
"Kid, don’t ask questions for the sake of asking. If you can’t even guess this, then I’ve misjudged you," the old man said with a smile.
"Because of the people above?" Lu Xiaobu also smiled.
It seems everyone here was smart.
"You even guessed it’s a hierarchical structure? Impressive! Impressive! I wandered here for over a decade before figuring that out!" The old man exclaimed in admiration.
He thought the other would only guess someone was in control, not that Lu Xiaobu would perceive the structure itself.
"Not difficult."
Lu Xiaobu pretended to show off a bit.
"Since you know, it’s easier to explain. Those in control here refer to themselves as the Heavenly Lord. No one knows their true identity, yet they have a way to bring people here, bypassing the core!"
Saying this, a hint of fierce killing intent flickered in the old man’s eyes.
Clearly, this guy wasn’t just some foolish alchemy-obsessed old man. Undoubtedly, the people he’s dealt with number countless!
"Bullying the few in numbers?"
Lu Xiaobu squinted, contemplating a fundamental rule.
"Correct, bullying the few in numbers!"
The old man’s killing intent faded, he sighed with a bitter smile: "Isn’t it strange? In reality, we’re already forces to be reckoned with, capable of shaking mountains and splitting the earth with a wave, yet here, we abide by the basic rule of might in numbers!"
Lu Xiaobu nodded, fully understanding this sense of disparity.
It’s like being an emperor with the power of life and death suddenly ending up among commoners, beaten by a group of beggars.
An emperor, a son of heaven whose anger could drown nations, finds it meaningless here, the frustration is imaginable!
As Mahayana cultivators, being called emperors is no exaggeration, even more so, emperors are unmatched in their respective domains.
And the guards?
In reality, these Mahayana can squash them like a bug, yet here, they’re humiliatingly constrained by beggars!
"I roughly understand the situation now; get to the main point," Lu Xiaobu squinted, knowing the real discussion was next!
