Chapter 857: Deadly Quest
Chapter 857: Deadly Quest
[24 Hours Before The Deadly Quest – Planet Bacchus – Dream Garden]
Inside a lush garden, one without a single flaw, sat Adina, a rather beautiful lady, one who could rival goddesses and Celestials.
She exuded an aura of calm and happiness.
Of course, being inside the Dream Garden would make anyone happy. On Planet Bacchus, it was regarded as one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to be.
Adina had been living there for years.
However, she knew it was only a matter of time before her peaceful days came to an end.
She set the scroll she was reading aside and walked out of the garden, entering a wooden house. She went to the bath and, after confirming nobody was around, took off her disguise, revealing her true self.
She was a succubus who, regardless of how one might see it, had no hunger for sex in her eyes. To her, living long enough to become an immortal was all she ever wanted.
However, before she could even finish bathing, she sensed a presence appear outside.
“Big sister Adina, you have to leave now.”
The person spoke in a hasty tone before vanishing back into the chaos that had appeared in the Dream Garden.
Adina put on her disguise, which only concealed her horns and cheery lips.
“I knew this day would come,” she muttered, fearing that if she waited to take anything, she would run out of time.
She didn’t.
Instead, she vanished from her house and appeared on the other side of the garden.
The moment she appeared, a woman appeared beside her. “I am sorry, young miss, but you have to leave.”
The woman, a level 4 Spirit Lord, spoke and then retrieved a token from her space ring and handed it over to Adina.
“It is the teleportation key to Planet Mekyn. I have managed to form a connection with the High Priestess there, so she will be waiting for you upon your arrival.
I will find my way to you. For now, go through the Valley of Torture; it will take you to the Teleportation Mountains. Use the key to activate it, and it will take you to Planet Mekyn.”
Adina received the token and, with tears in her eyes, hugged the woman.
“Come back to me safely, sister,” Adina said before stepping away.
The woman smiled. “I will. For now, go.”
Adina nodded, wiped her tears, and ran off. The moment she was gone, the lady also wiped a tear from her eyes before taking a pill from her space ring and swallowing it.
A few seconds later, she transformed into a carbon copy of Adina and moved toward the attack happening between the invaders and the guards of the Dream Light Temple.

[24 Hours Before The Deadly Quest – Planet Menelaus – Red Devils Mercenary]
“Team Leader, are we taking on this mission?” a man with a rough face tattoo asked, holding a scroll in his hand.
He looked like a human, but he was a breed of demon, one that appeared as if his face had been tattooed with a hot knife.
“This is a huge mission, Iver. We cannot just ignore it,” a Dark Elf replied, looking skeptical, though he didn’t want to let go of such a mission.
“But do we really want to work with the Wandering Demon Swordsman? Team leader, I don’t think this is a good mission right after we closed the last mission with a clean slate.”
“Relax, Iver. We just have to cross the path of someone at the Valley of Torture, capture her alive or dead, and deliver her to the one who gave us the mission. Having the Wandering Demon Swordsman with us is even better.
Plus, I have already received word that over ten other mercenary guilds have received this offer. Turning it down will paint a bad image for our organization.”
Iver wanted to say more, but looking at the team leader, he knew his words would fall on deaf ears, so he said nothing and just walked away.
He was the vice leader of the Red Devils mercenary group. They were one of the best in their world, and at the moment, the mission they were hired to handle was one he saw as no easy task.
For someone to be willing to pay 100 billion Spirit Stones to hire their services to capture or kill a level 3 Spirit Lord made Iver wary, and that wariness was something he had been feeling for a long time now.
However, with the money on the line and many hungry demons willing to do anything to earn a living, he could only support his team with whatever his level 5 Spirit Lord cultivation could do for him.

[Present Day – Valley Of Torture – Kent’s POV]
Kent was about to dive back into his cultivation when he was pulled to an unknown place. The moment he appeared, he heard a powerful explosion, one that sent a shockwave everywhere.
He felt it, and that was when he knew where he had appeared.
“This is a High World.” He felt a chill run down his back, but he moved, flying toward the explosion.
He used the time to check the quest he had received.
⟦Urgent Quest: Rescue the Virgin Succubus. Failure Means Death⟧
⟦Description: Adina, the Sin of Lust, is in dire need of rescue after her location was leaked. You are required to rescue her and send her to the Teleportation Mountains.
Failure to ensure her successful rescue means death.
The Tower Space is locked and can only be accessed after the mission.
Upon completion of the mission, your rewards will be released.
Good luck⟧
“This is crazy,” Kent muttered and called out to the tower.
⟦The Master can’t summon anyone or send anyone into the tower. But I am available to aid the master as much as I can.⟧
Kent understood right away that this mission wasn’t from the tower, but all he could do was continue flying toward the location from which more explosions were coming.
Every second he spent flying, he could only hope to get there faster.
Eventually, he approached the location where the battle was taking place.
The first thing he saw was the back of a lady whose body was littered with cuts, yet she stood firm, parrying, defending, and doing her best to find an opening and run.
Kent didn’t need anyone to tell him she was the lady he was there to rescue.
Ambushing her was a group of masked individuals.
“Three Spirit Lords and thirteen Spirit Sovereigns,” Kent came to a halt.
The odds he saw weren’t what he was hoping for. However, with the lady’s life at stake and now connected to his, he had to act.
So, without even thinking, Kent transformed into his demi-dragon form, activating his wings.
He moved this time at a speed several times faster than the one he had used to approach the battleground.
The moment he moved, the sixteen individuals ambushing the lady sensed him. However, Kent came in very fast, and before any of them could move to intercept him, he was already on the ground.
He landed hard, activating the ’Flame Wheels’ skill, which created a powerful shockwave, pushing everyone away.
He grabbed hold of the lady, and before she could even realise what had happened, they were several kilometers away.
“My name is Kent. I was sent to rescue you and take you to Teleportation Mountains, so cooperate with me because whether you like it or not, we are now in this mess together.”
Kent activated another flame skill and formed hundreds of fireballs in the air.
Looking back, he saw the sixteen masked individuals chasing them.
He hurled the fireballs at them, and the outcome was a powerful explosion.
“Where do you think you are going?” Suddenly, a powerful pressure fell from the heavens, sending Kent and Adina crashing to the ground.
From the clouds, a Level 6 Spirit Lord Dark Elf appeared, holding a colossal Axe.
“Great,” Kent muttered, picking himself up and taking Adina’s hand.
“Can you still fight?” Kent asked, knowing there was no escape now. They had to fight…
