Chapter 794: Back To Fedora
Chapter 794: Back To Fedora
Perhaps Kent expected to find a broken, weeping, and sad Alina upon entering her Grid Space. Of course, anyone would have expected the same thing.
After all, when she went back to her grid space, she was weeping.
However, what greeted Kent was anything but a sad Alina. When he entered her Grid Space, he found Alina hard at work.
In the air were thousands, perhaps millions, of runes glowing in different shades of color. She was also actively drawing runes, showing no sign of stopping at any moment.
And since inside her Grid Space, she didn’t need to use her energy to hold the runes, she could draw billions before using them to create the arrays and formations.
So Kent just stood there staring at her as she continued to draw for twenty good minutes before he finally cleared his throat.
That was when Alina realized Kent was inside her space, causing her to stop. She looked at him for a few moments before bowing her head, planting her gaze on the ground.
“You look funny,” Kent said, walking toward her. Soon, he was standing in front of her. Then he reached out and hugged her.
Alina immediately started crying in his arms.
Not that Kent minded, for he knew to some extent Alina saw herself as inferior when in fact she was the most dangerous of them all.
But who could blame her for thinking that?
All of her sisters were warriors with their weapons, while she just had to be guarded before she could analyze a battlefield and draw the correct formation or array to handle it.
Of course, long before Kent awakened her True Name, she never knew what she could bring to the harem aside from the fact that her man was obsessed with her butt.
She always thinks of her rule, what she would do when her man’s life is in danger. She knew using her butt to save him was not an option. So she never knew she would become this impressive.
But that she did.
Now that she has awakened this incredible skill and talent, instead of utilizing it effectively, she is now failing her team, a team that relies on her to ensure their first plans always succeed.
To someone like her, who had felt inferior for a long time, being the heart of her team was the greatest honor she had ever received.
They trusted her always to come through when she was needed the most. However, this time around, she failed to meet expectations.
That broke her heart.
“Stop crying, Alina. None of what happened was your fault. Not one of your sisters died, nor did any of your friends, so take the win.
Though I must say, you and your sisters are being petty. In the end, you won the battle, so why are you sour? Lighten up and take solace in knowing you won in the end.
A day will come when all five plans will fail. When that day comes and you fail to meet their expectations, then you can be this sour and weepy. For now, know that it was a setback, not a failure.”
Kent lifted her head and planted a kiss on her forehead.
Alina took a few minutes to stop crying before looking at the runes in the air. After a few seconds, she looked back at Kent, and a slight smile—one that didn’t quite reach her eyes—appeared on her face, showing it was half sincere, half fake.
She wanted to cheer Kent up and assure him she was fine. But Kent knew her better than she did, so he pulled her closer, and as expected, his hands found her butt and started kneading it.
“Don’t see yourself as a failure, Alina. You are my wife, and every last one of my wives is no failure. When you should have given up after your mother died, you didn’t; instead, you chose to live on, and now you are here.
That alone tells you what you are. You are a warrior just like every last one of your sisters.
So live like one, for there will be many setbacks and failures in the future, and if you let them kill your spirit, then your future as a true warrior might as well be shattered now.”
Alina nodded, a subtle moan escaping her lips as she looked at the smug look on Kent’s face.
“You always know the right words to say and what to do.”
“That’s because I am awesome.” Kent raised her into his arms, making Alina wrap her legs around his waist. Kent, of course, shamelessly sank his fingers into her soft ass, causing Alina to giggle.
Just like that, she had recovered somehow.
“So what are you aiming for, drawing hundreds of thousands in less than a day?” Kent asked, now that Alina was in a good mood and right mind to talk.
“It is a project that will one day shake battlefields. I call it the Battlefield Matrix. Sometimes, you need setbacks to realize what has to be done.”
“How does it work, and when will you complete it?”
“The Battlefield Matrix will be a grid that, when opened on battlefields, will act like Divine Sense. It will spread across the battlefield and actively monitor situations, including both hidden and emerging threats.
It will understand the flow of the battle and connect with my mind, allowing me to adapt and determine the best array or formation to deploy.
Of course, that will be the start. As time passes, I can add millions of attacking and defending arrays to it, which will activate based on the nature of the battle and when new situations arise.
As to when it will be done, it can be 100 years from now, 1,000, or perhaps a million years. However, I can start using it from my next battle. Though it will be the basic form of it, as my current understanding of runes is still limited.”
“I guess you have things figured out in the end. I am proud of you,” Kent said, but inwardly, he was wondering whether Alina truly understood what she was doing.
’If this were Earth, I would say she was aiming to create an Artificial Intelligence model aimed at analyzing battles, adapting, and acting based on the situation on the battlefield.
Good thing I know a thing or two about Artificial Intelligence.’ Kent smiled, looking at the proud look on Alina’s face.
’Since this is what you wanted to do, I will make sure your dreams come true. Also, this is my time to nerd up and make sure that when all is said and done, the battlefield will tremble at your presence.’
Kent didn’t know where this reasoning of hers came from. It was all too modern and mundane.
But he understood one thing: if what she said was indeed what she aimed for, then there was a chance that she would become something akin to a Sovereign of the Matrix, someone whose presence encompasses all battlefields and nothing, no matter how minute it is, will escape her sight.
’I hope you succeed, Alina, I really do, for this will be very difficult to create, but if you manage to break free of all limitations, you will become someone who wouldn’t make mistakes when in combat.’
Kent walked out of the grid space with Alina in his arms. When he arrived in the harem tower, he could sense the jealous looks from her sisters, especially when they saw what his hands were doing.
He just laughed, and soon, he was in Fedora with everyone except Vexthra and Camilla.
