[Day of the Attack - Stronghold of the Grim Arcane Legends]

"Hurry up, everyone, we don’t have much time," Kaba, the Grandmaster who had been killed, awakened as an undead, and purified, said, causing the maids to hurry with their work.

All around, the maids were working to ensure that the guests who had already started to appear in the stronghold ate the best delicacies while they were there.

It was the 10-millionth birthday of Monarch Solran, so all who had been invited had been arriving for a week now.

The stronghold, which was mostly buildings and guards, had now been decorated to resemble a wedding venue. Thousands had arrived, and each hour, more kept coming.

Among the maids working was Liora, who had already helped bring this household under their control, integrated herself among them, and, for the past 2 weeks, had led them to work diligently towards the birthday, which would be the perfect time to attack.

They had learned that the reason why many had failed to subjugate the Grim Arcane Legends was because of the Grand Arcane Ten Strike Sage Formation. It was a Primordial Level formation set up by an unknown person.

In the past, many righteous factions had tried to wipe out the Grim Arcane Legends, but they all failed.

If Vexthra and her sisters had attacked while it was still active, many of them would have died. But for this birthday, they would turn it off and be unable to bring it back up for an entire day. That was more than enough time for them to complete, or at least complete a part of, their mission.

Inkala was alive, and she would be married to Monarch Solran, who ordered her capture 200,000 years ago.

That was both good news and bad news.

If they failed, she would be gone forever, which would be bad news for them. However, since they know where she will be, they can attack and rescue her.

While Liora and the maids were working, somewhere else, the shadow fiends were also working around the clock, planning the perfect ambush for when the signal was given.

Somewhere in the stronghold, inside what appeared to be an arena, thousands of powerhouses were seated, drinking and making merry.

Most were Saints and Sages of the Grim Arcane Legends, while some were invited guests. Of course, envoys from some sects and families were also present, some there to make connections, and some already in bed with this nefarious organization.

After 3 hours, the last of the guests arrived, and so the formation was deactivated. They knew that the moment the birthday celebration started, some people would act stupidly, and the last thing they wanted was for the Grand Arcane Ten Strike Sage Formation to see them as a threat and eliminate them.

While they didn’t really care much, they also didn’t want unnecessary conflict. While in here, they might be unstoppable, but their agents and allies outside weren’t.

Vexthra and her sisters knew the danger, and so the shadow fiends who can kill without releasing killing intent were tasked with the subjugation mission for the past two weeks.

After the last guest arrived, a beautiful lady who was in charge of hosting the event appeared in the air to announce the arrival of the five monarchs of the Grim Arcane Legends.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 10-millionth birthday of Monarch Solran. I know many of you have traveled far and wide to get here. We thank you for coming, and as compensation, we will make sure your stay is worth it.

That said, I would like to invite the five monarchs of the Grim Arcane Legends. They are the ones who have held this place together for years, so I believe we all owe them the respect they deserve as they take their seats."

Many cheered and clapped, ready to welcome the guests of honour.

"First, let’s welcome Monarch Nexus, the one who, over the years, has ensured no threat ever sneaks up on us through the void." The void cracked open, and a man with wavy black hair, his body covered in black-purple robes, appeared.

He looked like he was in his early 30s, but the wave of aura around him made even those who appeared to be in their late 60s bow before him.

After he took his seat, the lady announced the next person.

"Let’s welcome Monarch Aethros." Space twisted, and a man with long white hair walked out, hands clasped behind his back, the look of wisdom oozing out of his body.

They called him the Monarch of Eternity simply because he could control space and time. His Dao was tied to those laws.

He also sat down, and the third was announced.

"Let’s welcome Monarch Drakonis, the dragon whose flame burns even fate itself." This time, a dragon’s roar spread across the space, and then a flame portal exploded open, increasing the pressure in the air. Then, from within the portal, a large dragon’s head appeared.

Soon, its colossal body appeared, and a dragon man stood on its back, with long, deep-red hair flowing down his back and eyes that screamed danger.

"Hahaha, after roaming around, moving from one battlefield to another, I have finally returned home. It is good to be back," Monarch Drakonis laughed, jumping down from the back of the dragon and landing with a heavy thud.

The dragon turned and retreated into the portal, and then the portal closed, lifting the pressure.

The lady officiating the event sighed and continued, "Normally, he would be introduced last, but because today’s event is a special one, allow me to welcome the founder of the Grim Arcane Legends, Monarch Voron."

Instead of a loud commotion, only a thin light flashed across the sky, and the void was cut open. Then, from within, a man who appeared to be in his 50s walked out, clad in a simple black and golden robe.

No pressure whatsoever came from him as compared to the first three.

As he walked out, many felt they could approach him and play with him almost as if he were their peer.

However, the old monsters who knew danger when they saw it recognised the kind of danger he possessed, and so they all maintained calm expressions, but inwardly, they were terrified.

After he sat down, the space suddenly began to brighten. Up in the air, a miniature sun appeared. "And finally, the man of the moment, Monarch Solran."

The sun exploded, and from within, a majestic golden qilin appeared, and seated on its back was a handsome man with flowing golden hair who looked like he wasn’t even a day older than 20 when, in fact, he was 10 million years old.
