Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1881: When Mortal Enemies Fight

  • Next Chapter

Kent had already anticipated this would happen.

He knew that aside from him, the person the Second Flame Matriarch hated the most was Ruby, the demoness who had led the Hell Devastators to slaughter her legion of flame demons after she was defeated by the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith.

If there is one thing War Generals hate, it is watching their legion get decimated by their opponents while they themselves are in positions where the only thing they can do is watch it all happen.

That was what happened to her.

After she was defeated and chained, Ruby led the charge that completely reduced the flame demons to the last corpse.

Naturally, she hated her the most, and so Kent could only smile when he considered the day the two would meet.

He clearly had no idea Ruby had already found her way back to him. But it was already too late for him to do anything... well, he had one last card he could play as the Master of the Chaos Tower.

"Tower, put them in one of the arenas," to minimize the damage caused to the legion tower, Kent gave the order, and the next second, Ruby and the Second Flame Matriarch were transported into an arena.

Kaizo, of course, took a front-row seat to witness the battle between Pseudo-Primordials.

Ruby wielded her broadsword, and the Second Flame Matriarch conjured a spear from her flame element.

"I have waited for this moment for a very long time," Ruby said with mocking laughter as she brandished her sword. "You know, I actually wanted to kill you the most back then, but Master had plans for you. But now, even though he had plans for you, allow me to discipline you."

"You can try."

"Oh, I will." The smile on Ruby’s face didn’t falter.

Kent shook his head and spoke, directing his words to Ruby, "Ruby, sweetheart, I know you have become very powerful now, but don’t for a moment underestimate a flame demon. Trust me, she is very dangerous, so don’t get cocky."

"Rest assured, Master, I could kill her before she blinks."

"Oh, I am sure you can do that, but can you defeat her, though?"

The clash of blood intent and flame intent instantly filled the Arena. Luckily, they were in a self-healing arena, so whenever the void cracked open, it closed, healing at a speed that would astonish many.

Back when they met, Ruby was a Celestial, and the Second Flame Matriarch was a Pseudo-Primordial. Ruby could only wish she had the power to face her back then.

However, they are now a match, for it had been years, and Ruby had had time to catch up. Now, she can unleash powers that would even shake the hearts of Primordials.

So, as they clashed, one could see that they were both at the peak of their power.

Ruby specialises in close combat. She is very fast, so fast that most opponents she has faced in battle don’t even know when she moves until it’s too late.

Aside from that, she possesses an uncanny ability of illusion and misdirection. She can choose to move left when, in fact, she wants to move right.

The only way to counter it is for the opponent to also possess speed beyond comprehension. The Second Flame Matriarch does, and so, in the clash, one could tell that, in terms of speed, they were evenly matched.

This boils down to who possesses the most experience in high-speed battles like this.

"Master, who among them do you think would win?" Kaizo asked, turning to look at Kent, who was already surrounded on all sides by his wives...

He had no idea a certain undead Princess was looking at him, wondering just what had happened to the cold and distant Bone Lich Undead Emperor she knew.

"If they are fighting to the death, then Ruby would win. But if they are trying to subdue each other, I am pretty sure Ruby would lose in..." Kent paused and raised three fingers.

"...in three, two, one."

Just as the countdown struck zero, the Second Flame Matriarch raised her spear and drew a flame circle in the air. The moment the circle formed, a terrifying pressure descended upon the battlefield.

Ruby, who was aiming for an opening in the Second Flame Matriarch defense, immediately allowed her eyes to narrow when she sensed the scheme.

But it was already too late for her to do anything.

She had fallen into a well-crafted trap, one that the Second Flame Matriarch had cooked up before the battle even began.

The circle exploded, and in the air, a large head made of bones and metal appeared and fell in Ruby’s direction.

"Tch, I had underestimated my opponent," she smiled, watching as her body was locked in place, and even her fingers were locked in place.

"Mjolnir, save her," Kent commanded, despite knowing death is not permanent here. He just didn’t want Ruby to experience death when she hadn’t had the chance to prove herself to him yet.

Mjolnir didn’t even move. He just pointed his finger at the falling head, and a beam of lightning mixed with flames shot out and landed on the head.

CRACK

BOOM

It cracked, and then it exploded, causing the Second Flame Matriarch to suffer a backlash. She coughed up a mouthful of blood, then turned and glared hatefully at Kent.

"Hey, why are you looking at me when I had nothing to do with what happened?"

The Second Flame Matriarch didn’t reply; instead, she turned and looked at Ruby, who had regained control of her body...

"Just because you are a Pseudo-Primordial doesn’t mean we are equals. Let this be a lesson to you." Without another word, the Second Flame Matriarch teleported out of the arena and reappeared somewhere in the Legion Tower.

She sat down under a tree and started to meditate.

Ruby shook her head and smiled. "How disappointing."

She also teleported out of the arena, leaving Kent and everyone wondering about so many things.

In the end, however, Kent just smirked and left the Arena with his wives. His legion followed, and a few minutes later, they were staring at the legion rankings.

Seated at the top, of course, was Grand Shaman Vorgun.
