Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1678: Absolute Power

Chapter 1678: Absolute Power

As Kent’s voice spread far and wide, many people began making their way toward the city gates from which the voice originated.

Many wanted to know what the mysterious Kent Madson looks like. After all, his name had spread far and wide, shocking countless people with his feats.

He had appeared on three Dao Tablets, something that had never happened before.

Naturally, that was more than enough reason for people to be curious about him.

However, while his arrival would finally satisfy their curiosity, the contents of his words made many wonder what exactly the Crayon Great Family had done to someone who was already the most wanted man in the universe.

"Is that him?" those who reached the city gates first whispered to one another.

"I think that’s him. He’s so handsome," some of the ladies said, blushing. It was a natural reaction that showed Kent was indeed worthy of his reputation.

"He is also very young," others muttered, hoping their words would not reach Kent’s ears.

"I wonder who the lady sitting on his lap is."

"I know her. She is the daughter of that old man whose entire family was slaughtered on their way back from the Green Wealth Festival. I heard that she was the only survivor and was later raised by the Crayon Great Family."

The man paused for a moment before continuing.

"I believe her name is Zeraphine, one of the most outstanding cultivators this city has ever produced."

Many who heard him nodded. After all, they had heard of Zeraphine before. It was said that she cultivated hypnosis and illusion techniques, transforming her soul flame into one of the deadliest hypnotic flames in the world.

Years ago, she had suddenly vanished, sending the Crayon Great Family into a panic. However, she returned about 20,000 years ago only to vanish again.

"If she was raised by the Crayon Great Family, then why is she here demanding the Young Miss’s head? Weren’t they like real sisters the last time I checked?"

"Indeed. I even heard that the Young Miss stopped eating after Lady Zeraphine disappeared years ago."

"If she really came here to kill her, then I think she’s ungrateful. I wouldn’t harm the hand that fed me, especially if it belonged to a family like the Crayon Great Family."

Many began criticizing Zeraphine, carefully keeping their voices low enough not to be overheard. However, as those opinions started spreading through the crowd, someone who knew a different version of the story suddenly spoke up.

"Haven’t you heard? The Crayon Great Family raised her as a treasure for Lady Mercy. A friend of mine, who serves as a guard at the Crayon Mansion, told me that, some time ago, thousands of immortals and demigods were sent to hunt down someone.

"At first, he didn’t know who the target was. However, after he was added to the mission later and gathered more information, he learned what had truly happened.

It turned out that after Lady Zeraphine returned from wherever she had disappeared to, her strength had risen to an entirely new level.

More importantly, her soul flame had undergone a miraculous evolution and had become a Primordial Flame.

The Crayon Great Family had pressured her to hand it over to Lady Mercy, but she refused. As a result, they attempted to take it by force.

The last report he heard claimed that Lady Zeraphine had escaped, but not before narrowly surviving several assassination attempts."

"If that’s true, then they brought this upon themselves. No wonder she came back for revenge."

The crowd’s opinion began to shift once more.

"Though I wonder how she came to know Kent Madson."

Just then, a thunderous boom echoed across the sky.

One powerful cultivator after another descended from above.

Leading them was the very person Kent and Zeraphine had come for.

Mercy, the youngest daughter of Lord Crayon.

Over the years, she and Zeraphine had been recognized as the two greatest geniuses of the younger generation.

However, one look at her face was enough to tell everyone that the stories claiming they were sisters in all but blood were nothing more than a joke.

The hatred in her eyes said it all.

"Who the hell are you?" Mercy shouted, her cold voice spreading throughout the area. "And who gave you the audacity to come here thinking your name would do you any good?"

Kent smirked.

"My name got you running over here like a bitch, didn’t it?"

Mercy’s expression darkened.

"So what?" she sneered. "I’m here now. What exactly can you do to me, punk?"

Her gaze shifted toward Zeraphine.

For a brief moment, Kent caught a trace of uneasiness and jealousy in her eyes. However, it vanished almost as quickly as it appeared.

Mercy raised a finger and pointed directly at Zeraphine.

"And you, you ungrateful bitch. After everything my family did for you, this is how you repay us?"

Zeraphine looked at her silently for a moment before smiling.

"And thanks to your father, I lost my parents. Or did you think I would never discover that those so-called bandits were working for your family?"

Mercy’s brows twitched.

To everyone else, her expression remained unchanged.

But Kent could see far more than an ordinary person.

He saw the panic that appeared in her eyes when Zeraphine revealed the truth she had learned during her time in the underworld.

That alone was enough to tell him she knew exactly what had happened to Zeraphine’s parents.

Hearing this for the first time, Kent’s eyes narrowed.

He had come here intending to kill Mercy for what she had done to Zeraphine.

But learning that the same family that raised her had also slaughtered her parents changed something inside him.

If this had been the Kent from before recovering his memories of the Ruthless Bandit and Sanders, he might have considered showing mercy.

But now?

Now he was someone who had recalled two lives where his parents had suffered injustice. Aside from that, the event with Elina had also triggered him.

All these past memories and encounters stirred the darkness within him.

"Relax," Zeraphine said as she stepped forward. "I’m only here for you. As for the rest..."

She glanced at Kent.

"Your family will have him to worry about."

Her figure vanished.

The next moment, she appeared directly in front of Mercy.

PAAAAA!

A vicious slap landed across Mercy’s face, creating a cackling sound.

The impact sent her crashing through several ancient trees, creating a crater where she landed.

Zeraphine held nothing back with her opening attack.

Kent grinned.

Then he rose to his feet and summoned Gaap. The moment his sword appeared, the air around him changed.

Before the guards Mercy had brought could react, he made his move.

"Domain of Evil."

Dark mist erupted outward like a tidal wave, swallowing all fifteen Immortal Lords and the three Demigod guards she had brought with her.

"Evil King’s Judgment."

The second skill was activated, and immediately, agonizing screams echoed from within the darkness.

Pain, Terror, and Despair could be heard coming from the mist.

The more the screams continued, the colder the crowd felt.

Many unconsciously took several steps back, fearing it would be their turn next.

A few seconds later, Kent appeared standing atop the sea of darkness, expression surprisingly calm despite the despair he had unleashed.

Looking toward the Crayon Estate, he spoke calmly.

"You have ten seconds to show yourself, old bastard. If ten seconds pass and you’re still hiding, don’t blame me for what happens next."

He raised a finger.

"One."

The countdown began.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Zeraphine summoned a whip forged entirely from her Primordial Flame.

The moment it appeared, even the surrounding space trembled. The aura it exuded was terrifying.

Every strike carried not only physical pain but also an attack on the mind and soul.

"I trusted you, Mercy."

CRACK!

The flaming whip lashed across Mercy’s body.

"I believed in you."

CRACK!

Another strike landed.

"I risked my life for you."

CRACK!

Mercy’s body was thrown backward, blood spraying from her lips.

"And in the end, I was nothing more than a fool you planned to sacrifice so you could achieve your dreams. I was merely a carrier of your treasures."

Another strike landed.

Mercy’s head snapped backward as blood poured from her nose and mouth.

"I went to the Ghost Mountains to find a treasure capable of awakening your innate soul flame. I knew the danger, but because of the bond we shared, I risked it just to make you happy."

Her voice shook with fury.

"Yet behind my back, you were already deciding which part of my power would suit you best."

CRACK!

The whip descended once more.

"Did it ever occur to you that I worked for everything I have today?"

CRACK!

"Or did you simply assume I would hand over my innate flame and talent because we were sisters?"

The hatred in her eyes blazed brighter than the flames surrounding her.

"I was a fool, Mercy."

CRACK!

"I should have known from the beginning."

CRACK!

"I should have known the moment your family became so kind and accommodating after my parents died."

BOOM!

The latest strike sent Mercy flying several hundred meters.

Painful screams escaped her mouth.

If there was ever a moment for regret, this would have been it. Unfortunately for Mercy, she had neither the time nor the luxury to regret anything.

Not when she was merely an Immortal Lord facing a Demigod who had trained every single second in the Land of the Dead.
