Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1591 Terrifying Changes (2)

“What is even a Resentful Being?” Kent asked, lost as to what to even think. He had lived many lives, but this was his first time seeing something called a Resentful Being.

He knew of Resentful Spirits, but this was his first time learning about Resentful Beings.

The Tower moved and hovered before him.

“Resentful Souls are beings created from Resentful Spirits. I hope by now the master is aware that Resentful Spirits are carried away through the River of Styx by the Grim Reapers.”

Kent nodded, already aware of this information.

“Resentful Beings are those who didn’t make it to the Underworld. It has been said that when the Grim Reapers come for the souls to be ferried to the Underworld, not all make it. In fact, the number of Resentful Souls that get stuck in the River of Styx is even more than those sent to the Underworld.

Due to this, the River of Styx became so dangerous over time that aside from the Grim Reapers and the Lords of the Underworld, nobody dared cross it.

Of course, the only reason they can do that is because of the Authority they have from the Queen of the Underworld.

The truth of the matter is, when it comes to the River of Styx, it is one of the most dangerous places in the universe. Those Resentful Spirits that are left behind—some manage to evolve by devouring other Resentful Souls.

In fact, it can be said that those who survive evolve using the power of the River of Styx, becoming overlords of the river that has no beginning or end.

Legends even have it that one Resentful Being is enough to face an army of an entire planet and walk away stronger and more resentful.

However, because of their abominable nature, they have been imprisoned in the Underworld River for all eternity. No matter how you look at it, Resentful Beings are enemies of this universe. They cannot be tamed, and they most certainly cannot be commanded.

I wonder why you can summon them now.”

“This…” Kent’s expression turned a bit serious. He knew some things were meant to be kept in check because peace and prosperity depended on their containment.

Examples of such beings were those monsters hidden in the Seven Calamity Zones and the Three Primal Regions. They could not be allowed to leave. If they were allowed even a small passage, the entire universe would be in chaos.

“Does this have something to do with the Book of Evil…?” Kent asked, turning his gaze to the book hovering beside the Underworld Soul River.

After recovering all his memories, he saw that during his time in the Star Realm, he and the Queen of Evil talked about that book.

From what she told him, it was one of the Primal Treasures of the Unknown Universe, where she came from. According to her, that book contains many things that every last person who cultivates the Dao of Evil will cherish.

This conversation happened a few years before he entered the Trial of Evil and became a Celestial. So while he knew of its existence, he had no idea what was contained within it.

All he knew was that the power contained within it was forbidden and could not be taken lightly.

“I believe the master is worried for nothing. This Underworld Soul River is yours, so if it allows you to harness its hidden powers, then you can easily use it without worrying about anything.”

“But there is one thing I don’t understand, Tower.” Kent cast his mind back to the small parts of his memories that covered the kind of teams he created.

Chaos formed the Void Legion. It was the strongest team during the Primordial Era. They played a huge role in the Great War.

Jest also created the Sword Pagoda, a place where the greatest swordsmen gathered to exchange ideas and improve the Dao of Swordsmanship.

Faceless also created the Midnight Shadows, the most elite assassin organization in the entire universe.

Finally, while the Ruthless Bandit wasn’t the one who formed the Night Riders, he played a part in their growth.

All these teams coming together are already a menace. However, he is also aware that he was the master of the Undead Legion, meaning at some point he was a Necromancer, and also the Eternal Wrath Legion, of which he had no idea which of his incarnations formed that.

He is also aware that he was a Beast Tamer at some point, so there is a Beast Legion on the way.

All that, coupled with the fact that he himself is a menace, points to a battle coming, one that he perhaps had seen during the Primordial Era and started to work towards.

But the question here is, what kind of battle requires one person to use thirteen lives to prepare for it?

“Where does all of this lead, Tower? I can say that already, with the subordinates I have, if they all rise to the Celestial Level one day, there is no threat that can stop them.

So why do I keep getting more assistance, or, more importantly, what did my past selves do that seems to be starting to manifest in this life?”

There are some parts of his memories that are blank. For example, when he went into the Trial of Evil, what happened there is blank to him.

The same can be said for when he entered the Infinity Sword Library. Whatever he did there remains a mystery to him. So while he knew none of these powers were harmful, he had no idea what was coming that would require him to have this much power.

“I also don’t know why the master needs all this. But I do know that this universe is in severe danger, and so the master is going to need all the help he can get.”

Kent sighed again.

“Resentful Beings, huh?” A grin formed on his face. “Maybe I do need them for when I face the Forbidden Race and finally put an end to their evil existence.”

Tower nodded her small head. “You see, the master always has use for his subordinates.”

Kent smiled and nodded. “That I do. However, what is with these coffins?”

Turning away from the Underworld Soul River, Kent turned toward the direction of twenty-four dark coffins, each constructed from metallic bones, with the aura of pure darkness and evil pouring out of them.

All twenty-four look very scary. However, for some reason, he felt like they were right where they should be. The feeling he felt toward them resonated with his Evil Core, a clear sign that they were linked to that part of him.

Tower answered him by pulling up the messages on the twenty-four coffins.

[You have awakened the 24 Grand Arcane Coffins.]

[24 Grand Arcane Coffins]

[Type: Soul Item]

[Description: The 24 Grand Arcane Elders were banished since the dawn of time, never to be heard from ever again. Many say their existence is an abomination that can alter the course of an entire universe.

Some say their existence was so terrifying that nobody could keep them in check. So they slept for eternity, waiting for the one true Overlord to awaken them.]

[Mission: Find the 24 Marks of True Evil and awaken the 24 Grand Arcane Elders.]

Kent nodded, expecting something this universe-altering.
