Chapter 1458 Snow City
Chapter 1458 Snow City
Many years ago, Jest arrived in Snow City with a large wound across his chest and over ten attackers on his tail.
It was when he was roaming the world, challenging one swordsman after another in the hope that he would find a way to break past the Sword Saint stage.
Back then, he accidentally entered a forbidden zone where a Sword King lived. When he discovered what a blunder he had made, he apologized and left, but he didn’t get far before he was attacked.
He managed to escape, but not before he had his chest split open by the Sword King. Back then, Sword Kings were a big deal, so when word got out that a mere Sword Saint broke into the cultivation garden of a Sword King, Jest had to go on the run since all who wanted to suck up to the sword king came after him.
Today, as he entered Snow City, memories of that chilling encounter came to mind, and he just couldn’t help but smile inwardly.
‘I wonder if that bastard is still alive.’
The Sword King, who was the reason he had to go on a 30-year run, came to mind, and he just couldn’t help but wonder if he was still alive.
It’s been so long since he died, so there is a good chance that Sword King had long since died also.
‘I am just being petty at this point. Even if he is alive, there is a huge chance he has already become a Sword God. Seeking him out would just be me courting death.’
Of course, he could not relax without knowing a thing or two about that bastard.
He turned to the guard named Li and asked, “Before coming to this place after my family disowned me, I learned a very long time ago, when swordsmanship wasn’t as big as it is now, that a Sword King by the name of Sword Ribbon used to live in this city. Is that true?”
“Of course it is true. However, don’t make that mistake again. Refering to him as sword king will get you killed. He is now a Sword Supreme and has long reached a stage none of us can fathom.”
“Oh, my bad.”
“That’s alright, kid.” Li placed his hand on his shoulder and said, “It turned out he and the legendary Lord Genesis—you know, the father of swordsmanship—were friends back in the day. So later, when Lord Genesis reached the peak, he was one of the many he personally helped.”
“That is great to hear, I suppose.”
“It is true. Lord Genesis was generous in everything he did. His generosity has made many legends and still does. So while here, whenever you see a statue of a swordsman—just any swordsman—be respectful, or else you will find yourself in deep trouble.”
“Thanks for the advice, Mr. Li. I will be sure to remember that.” After saying that, he leaned back and started to think.
‘Unbelievable. To think I actually became friends with that jackass. What was I even thinking?’
He smiled inwardly, a bit amused.
‘It is not too late. One day, after I rise back to the peak, I can still get my revenge.’
Pettiness was rooted in his being, so he would always remember, and one day, he would make sure he got back at that bastard.
‘Then again, why would I help him when I promised myself back then to kill him?’ This question remained a mystery.
With the carriers taking him along, he entered the city without paying at the gate. They quickly headed deeper into the city.
His thoughts remained in his head since the scenery he was seeing seemed to captivate his senses. There was just no way he expected Snow City to become this beautiful.
After 30 minutes, the carriage stopped.
“This is as far as we can take you, kid. Take this and rent a room for the night. Tomorrow, head to the Mission Guild and see if you can find a mission that will pay for your daily upkeep and also aid you in your cultivation.
Every last day of the month, you can come to the Dream Store and ask for me. If I am around, I will help you in any way I can.”
Kent nodded and accepted the money. After thanking them, he alighted from the carriage and watched them leave.
“Good people. One day, I will repay your kindness.” Kent gave them one last bow before spreading his Soul Map. Since he had no idea which part of Snow City he was in, he decided to find a room and rent it for the night.
Tomorrow morning, he would head to the Green Ice Restaurant and look for the Bimk guy Randel said could help him however he wanted.
His first mission is to find Inaya’s whereabouts. She is the main reason he came, so he would look for her first before handling the other things.
He quickly found a hotel which was about 50,000 km from him. Following the direction in his Soul Map, he quickly made his way toward the hotel.
It took him a few minutes to reach the hotel.
“Welcome to One Night Hotel. How long do you plan on staying?” a lady at the door greeted him. Hearing the name of the hotel, a smile appeared on his face.
“I guess I will be staying for just one night.”
The lady also smiled, showing this wasn’t her first time hearing such a reply. She pointed at a lady sitting behind a desk. “You can book your room and pay there.”
Kent nodded and headed to the receptionist. There, it took him just two minutes to pay and secure a room. He headed upstairs and, without much difficulty, unlocked and entered his room.
It was nothing fancy, just a bed and a chair.
Kent had no plan to stay there, so he entered the tower the moment he entered the room. The main reason he booked the room was to make his presence known in the city.
If someone or something were to be following him, they would find his trail where he wanted them to, because that was what he wanted them to find. He wants to draw attention from the tower.
Also, he needed a secure space to enter and exit the tower, so finding a room sounded like a good idea. He can’t just come and go in the middle of the street like that.
The tower is monitoring everything, so if someone were to come to the room, he would be alerted immediately.
He appeared inside the Alchemy Tower, where he started working on Tier 14 pills. Since it would be nine hours before daybreak, that amounted to nine days inside the tower.
There was plenty of time for him to make some progress.

Meanwhile, back inside the dungeon, Unity had finally broken free from the cocoon. It turned out she had received memories from the Goddess of Love.
Initially, he only received memories from Artemis. Now, the goddess of love had also returned to her.
The cocoon was just a way to rebuild her body so she could use abilities related to that life. Being the Goddess of Love has many benefits, and she has just started to awaken some of them.
However, now that she is out, they have to head to the 10th floor.
It is a 37-floor dungeon. They had done nine, meaning they have 28 more to go.
“Let’s not waste our time.” Vexthra opened the portal, and they soon left the 9th floor. The earlier they get things done, the better.
