Chapter 1389 The Eighth Floor - Greed King (5)

Chapter 1389  The Eighth Floor – Greed King (5)

Kent had already sensed the shadows long before they appeared.

However, when they showed up and transformed into Dark Fiends, he became a bit stunned. Among the many beings he wanted to meet on this mission, Dark Fiends were the last on his list.

Vexthra had already told him about their encounter on the 5th floor, when they battled the Dark Princess and her dark fiends.

That revealed that she had already begun her invasion and had many seeds scattered across the universe, waiting to hatch.

Provided the conditions are met, she would be able to unleash her complete strength in no time.

However, while learning all that seemed a bit alarming, meeting dark fiends twice already in the dungeon-clearing mission seemed a bit coincidental.

There was just no way this was random. There had to be some form of meaning to all that; there always is a hidden meaning when things like this happen.

“So you five were the outliers, huh?” Kent said, turning to face them. All five of them had taken on the look of 3-meter-tall goat men.

They had the head of a goat and the body of a man. Of course, they stood on their hind legs, showing they had hooves instead of toes.

“Who are you, and why are you interfering in the business of the Elves?” one of the Dark Fiends asked in a furious tone.

Kent grinned, then he answered, “They are family. You see, my mom’s uncle’s brother’s sister’s grandma’s grandfather’s aunt’s nephew’s great-grandpa’s friend’s best friend was once a green elf, so when I sensed they were in danger, I came to offer my help.”

He narrowed his eyes at the five dark fiends and asked, “Do you have any problem with that, Dark Fiends?”

Although they had the head of a goat, a look of shock appeared on their faces. Being recognized by Kent was the last thing they wanted or expected.

This mission was one they were sent on by the Dark Princess, or at least a part of her. She wanted something from the green elves, but to get it, she needed the Greed King.

So she sent her dark fiends to come get it for her. However, she warned them that, unless necessary, they could never show their true selves.

They followed that instruction to the T; however, Kent could tell their true nature with a mere glance. That was just something they never expected.

“No need to deny it. I can tell a Dark Fiend from a mile away, so instead of denying it, how about you tell me what you want, and maybe we can come to an agreement.”

“Or you can die.” All five dark fiends charged forward, their bodies engulfed in dark, misty flame. They wanted him dead in an instant, so they went all out from the start.

However, after taking a few steps, they all came to a halt, and then they dropped to their knees, all five of them.

Kent tapped into his Blood Runes, using the pressure to suppress them. He rendered them immobile in an instant using just the power of his aura”Relax for now, lads, I have to free these folks form a puppet master first. You know, because they are family.”

Kent turned away from them, leaving them suppressed under the bone-crushing weight of his aura. Recalling Chaos, Jest, and Faceless memories to that extent seemed to have transformed his aura.

So, adding just ten thousand blood runes, he was able to suppress five Empyreans. And what was even more shocking was that these five dark fiends seemed to have some form of bloodline power, something dark fiends, from what he knew, shouldn’t have.

This showed he had become very powerful but also, the dark fiends are now different from how they were before.

After he turned away, he extended his hand, and Gaap appeared in his firm grip. Then his Heavenly Jade Eye changed from gold to dark-gold, with a hint of red in there somewhere.

With the change, his level 9 heavenly sword aura exploded from his sword, filling the entire island.

Just like with his aura, his sword aura had also undergone so many changes. This was mainly because of Jest. In his memories, he had become a Sword Legend with a level 9 Divine sword aura.

Thanks to that knowledge, his understanding of sword aura had reached a whole new level.

He raised his sword, and under the stunned yet furious looks of the five dark fiends, he took a simple swing.

All over the island, the battle happening came to a halt. The strings binding them to the Greed King were all severed.

It was so effortless that nobody felt any pain when he cut the strings.

He stored away the sword, then, using his energy, he amplified his voice. “My name is Kent Madson. I was sent here by the Goddess of Light to save you. So all able men and women should help those injured and the children to the shore. Ships are coming to take you to safety.”

After saying that, Kent turned to the five dark fiends and grinned. “Here is how we are going to do this. I have some questions for you five. As to how detailed and precise your answers are, I will choose to let you go or kill you.”

He raised his hand and gestured down again, causing even more pressure to be pressed down on them. “I hope I am understood.”

Even if he wasn’t understood, considering the pressure on them, they nodded.

“Good.” Kent snapped his finger, and the pressure vanished. However, tapping into his sword intent, he surrounded all five of them with invisible swords.

They felt them, and well, they felt the sharpness in the air, so they became still, not daring to even move their heads.

Seeing this, Kent smiled…

Inside the Mind Space, Zaila stood calmly in the air, her expression amused. On the other hand, the Greed King seemed to have offended the executioner.

His body was littered with cuts, blood oozing from his mouth and nose. Even his body was releasing more blood than the amount coming from his mouth and nose.

For a while, he was holding on quite well. However, the moment Kent cut the connection between him and the green elves, his source of power was taken from him, causing him to rapidly run out of energy.

The skull had long shattered, with the only thing remaining being the fractured half of its jaw.

“One bad thing about borrowing energy from a third party is that the moment they are taken away from you, everything comes crashing down.”

Zaila took a step forward, and soon she was standing over the Greed King’s weakened body.

“You could have walked the natural path and ascended like a normal human. But your greed to rule above all made you complacent, and that is why you will be dying now.”

She pointed her finger at him. “Learn to walk the natural line drawn by the heavens in your next life.” A thin needle formed at the tip of her finger and went through his head, ending him in the mind space.

On the outside, his eyes widened, then they dimmed. He fell forward from his throne and landed on the ground.

Zaila looked at all this happening and merely let a smile appear on her face. She spread out her senses to see where Kent was.

What she saw left her stunned and a bit amused.
