Chapter 1370 Safira
Chapter 1370 Safira
“Why won’t this bastard dragon just die?” a demigod-level Forsaken king shouted, stabbing a large spear at Chaos’s bloody neck.
Just when the spear was about to touch his neck, golden pentagon scales appeared and blocked it. This gave Chaos the time to move back. However, he didn’t get far before a large boulder slammed hard into his back, sending him crashing to the ground.
Blood exploded out from his Dragon Maw, his wing breaking at a few joints.
“Damn it,” his loud dragon voice filled the place as he used the void to move away just when a third demigod came with a powerful stab.
Chaos was locked down with no chance to even retaliate. All he could do was defend and look for a way to escape. However, after three hours, he found no path to take.
Being surrounded by 15 demigods isn’t something he could easily handle.
But while he was still alive, his entire body was littered with deep cuts. His bones were broken, and even his left eye had been blinded.
The only thing keeping him alive was his incredibly hard scales and unyielding will.
He was merely an Immortal King, but under the assault of 15 demigods, he was able to survive for three good hours. But it seemed he was running out of time.
“I guess there is no other way. I need to use it,” Chaos said before transforming into his humanoid form.
“Chaos Heart.”
He stabbed his claw into his chest and pulled out a golden orb. Then, without any hesitation, he channeled his energy into it.
“This is not over.” After saying that, he clenched the golden orb, and it exploded, sending powerful shockwaves blasting the 15 demigods several kilometers back.
A portal formed before Chaos, and so, dragging his body, he jumped into it and vanished from sight. He had formed three Chaos Hearts, but to save himself, he exploded one, bringing his combat power down several degrees.
However, because he had to survive, he didn’t think about that. He could always reform the Chaos Heart and get his revenge. So survival was a must.
After he entered the portal, it closed, preventing the demigod-level Forsaken kings from following him. They had failed to kill the one person who posed a threat to their kind.
So they had to go back and report their failure.
Meanwhile, inside a valley of ice, a portal opened, and Chaos fell from it, landing on the crystal floor unconscious. He had lost consciousness the moment he jumped into the portal.
He was already on his last leg, and the pain from exploding his Chaos Heart also added to his becoming unconscious the moment he vanished from sight.
However, he had no idea he would be appearing in such a dangerous place. If he knew, he would have at least remained conscious long enough to find a good place to hide his body so as not to freeze to death.
The location where he appeared was extremely hazardous for non-ice users, so Chaos was still in danger eventhough he escaped from the demigods.
However, a few minutes after he appeared, a pale-looking lady appeared beside his body. She gave him a long and complicated look before waving her hand.
Chaos’s body vanished along with her. The next time they appeared, it was inside a cave where she seemed to have been living for a while now.
She set his body down, and after a few internal struggles, she cleaned his body and applied some medication before using her energy to heal him.
One could tell healing him was the last thing she wanted, but a part of her overcame that emotion, and she did what she had to.
After about a month, Chaos’s body was healed. The only thing left was for him to wake up. He would have to heal his own internal injuries when he woke up.
But as the days passed, the lady kept applying medication as if wanting him to wake up early. A year later, Chaos woke up. However, when he saw the face staring at him, his eyes narrowed, and his claws appeared, gleaming with a dangerous light.
“Relax, dragon. If I had wanted you dead, I would have long done it,” she spoke in an indifferent tone before pointing toward the entrance.
“If you can walk, then please leave this place. I have already done enough damage to have you around for long.”
Chaos stared at her for several minutes, his thoughts chaotic. He had no idea why a Forsaken being would save his life. That wasn’t just something he expected of her, so he was confused and a bit lost about what to even say.
In the end, he said what he could. “Thank you.”
Chaos tried to stand up, but he couldn’t. So he chose to heal himself first. A couple of hours later, he could walk, so he stood up.
“My name is—”
“I know who you are, and I have no ambition in knowing you beyond your name, so just leave. The next time we meet, we will be enemies, so do well to remember that.”
“Still, thank you for saving my life. I will repay you later.” He looked at his finger and could still see his space ring. He reached into it and retrieved a crystal. He placed it down, then started walking out of the cave.
“Safira… My name is Safira, and I hope we never meet ever again.”
“We will let destiny decide.” Chaos left, and Kent woke up. At once, he entered another dragon enlightenment…
—
In a faraway place, a pale-looking lady with tattered clothes hid behind a tree, her breath coming in ragged.
In her hand was a markshift spear made from the bones of a beast. If this bone were to appear in the universe, many gods would fight over it.
Yet this lady held it like a weapon as she looked to her left. About 10,000 km away, a very large serpent with bright red scales kept searching for something.
If Universal gods were to meet this serpent, the first thing they would do is break into tears and perhaps try to run for their dear lives.
After about ten minutes, it hissed very loudly and slithered off.
HAAA
The lady exhaled, then she ran off too. Several hours later, she appeared in front of a cave. She stopped and surveyed the area first. After making sure there was no danger in sight, she entered the cave.
She sat down and leaned against the wall, her entire body aching like hell.
“I guess I was lucky this time around,” she said, taking another deep sigh. “Ah, what the hell, it isn’t as if I can die anyway. But getting eaten alive also hurt like hell.” She smiled weakly, then retrieved a crystal from her space ring.
Many years ago, the Primordial Chaos Dragon gave her that crystal. Several eras later, she still held on to it.
“A lot has happened after we met, Chaos. I hope you got what you wanted, for I had received the opposite of what I wanted.”
She smiled again, then she exhaled.
“I will try again after another million years.” She closed her eyes and started to recover her strength.
