Chapter 1146: Anger
Chapter 1146: Anger
Kent appeared inside the body tower, where most of his legions were spending time healing. Not all of them have recovered, so they are still in the healing chamber.
Kent had already seen the messages and knew most of his undead had died. As for the Eternal Legion, some are up, others are still in the healing chamber.
It had already been 17 weeks inside the tower since the battle happened. That was about 17 hours on the outside. However, thanks to the time difference, most had recovered, or at least, they are out of the chamber.
Most of the undead warriors used their bodies to shield those who were vulnerable, so while most of Kent’s wives and the Eternal Wrath legion only sustained minor injuries, the undead actually died.
Before their battle with the Immortal Killing Formation, Kent had ten undead. However, because of their bravery and the near-impossible odds they went against, seven of them died.
The only ones still standing were Kaizo, Sylara, and Varyn.
Kaizo survived because, well, he was Kaizo. His defense was much stronger than the rest, and so he managed to keep his life with Alina’s assistance.
They all knew that as long as one stayed alive long enough for the formation to lose its power, they would be saved. And they came close.
The formation would have lost its power exactly 15 minutes into the 3rd hour.
However, Uncle Drew returned from the underworld and saved them before that happened. But if he hadn’t come, then perhaps only Kaizo would have made it.
But then again, he was perfect for the role, knowing he would keep rising back up like the undead he was.
Sylara survived because she had formed the Blood Hunger Seal, and yet again, she burned it to empower herself.
It was rather heartbreaking, considering she formed her Blood Hunger Seal only to burn it again to keep herself and her friends alive.
But thanks to her, most of Kent’s wives survived.
As for Varyn, he survived thanks to his dual nature as an Assassin and a Knight. Thanks to his Divine Shield, he was able to keep his sorry undead life safe and others safe, too.
Right now, Kaizo, Sylara, Varyn, Unity, and a few of her sisters, alongside Aetheris, Nykali, Veera, Yi Lai, and Krex Nithal, were the only ones who had somehow recovered and were out of their healing chambers.
Krex is the undying cockroach, so it is not shocking that he survived. Killing him is nearly impossible.
When Kent saw this sight, his anger bubbled, threatening to consume him.
His just-formed blood core started to surge, causing a potent killing intent to wash out of his body.
Kaizo and the rest who saw him sighed, and they shuddered. Kent is like a blood demon, one who has just returned from slaughter.
⟦The master is advised to keep his emotions in check, else he risks entering a bloodlust state⟧
Kent took a deep breath and then calmed down. However, even so, the aura around him is extremely potent.
“What happened?” Kent asked in a cold tone, causing Kaizo and the rest to feel his anger.
Unity walked toward him with no fear in her eyes. When she got close, she hugged him, which helped calm him down a bit.
The people involved were now dead, and so they could only bide their time until they got to where their employers were and made them pay.
So for now, there was no need to invoke such a powerful and angry reaction.
Unity led Kent to sit down first before Kaizo explained what had happened to him. By the time he was done, Kent was bubbling with anger.
He was angry that he had no idea his wives and legion came this close to death—well, some actually died.
He was angry that the connection he shared with them became useless just when they actually needed help.
Although Gaia had told him the connection was not absolute, that there were things out there that could render it useless, Kent never expected it to happen this early in their journey.
He was angry that his stalkers got to his wives and legion instead of him. In a way, he blamed himself for what happened.
If nobody knew he had arrived in the high world, nobody would have chased after his legion and nearly wiped them out all in the name of flushing him out.
However, even if that were the only case, he knew for a fact that one of these days, his name would spread and the danger would come, so perhaps getting a warm welcome and an idea of what to expect was also beneficial.
But since it came at the expense of losing seven undead and nearly losing his wives, with Alina even in a coma and not knowing when she would wake up, it sure left a bitter taste in his mouth.
“So Uncle Drew came to our rescue, and he even killed the fourteen, leaving only one alive for us to interrogate. The bastard is in the Tower Prison,” Kaizo said, and Kent nodded.
Hearing Uncle Drew was back made him happy. At least he saved them and was finally back among the living.
“I am sorry, master. If I hadn’t insisted we hunt down those involved in the attack against the Elves, none of this would have happened. I deserve to be punished.” Kaizo sure felt more guilty than everyone else.
It was his idea, after all. So while his warrior spirit still remained strong, he had been feeling guilty ever since he woke up.
In his heart, he nearly got his friends and his master’s wives killed.
Kent patted him on the shoulder and said, “It is not your fault, Kaizo. It was a setback for sure, but at least we now know that the people after me have no good intentions, so next time, we will also show no mercy.
“Until we start killing them in masses, will they learn to back off? So heal for now. I will resurrect the others, and once everyone is up, use the dungeon to strengthen yourselves.
“Rest assured that we will get our revenge, and it will be bloody.”
Kaizo nodded and responded with the enthusiasm everyone knew he had. “I will be ready for battle when it comes, master.”
Kent nodded and walked into the building, where the healing chambers were located. It was Gaia’s idea to build them since she wanted to remain ahead of the chaos.
Thankfully, it came in handy now.
Seeing his wives and legion sleeping in the glass chambers, he could only sigh. For now, he couldn’t storm the Immortal World and demand revenge.
That would be suicide.
So he would bid his time, grow stronger, ascend, and get his revenge.
’Tower, add this to my revenge list’
⟦List updated⟧
“Don’t worry, Kent, they will be fine. Once Elaine wakes up, she will speed up their healing. So for now, go handle your training; we will be fine.”
Kent hesitated, but he nodded.
“Oh, you also have some visitors. Big sister is spending time with them in the city, so when you are done, go talk to them.”
Kent nodded.
“How about Uncle Drew?”
“He left the tower to go look for some herbs Alina needed to heal her soul. Knowing you were in seclusion, he decided to handle it.”
“I see.”
Kent thought for a moment and then planted a kiss on Unity’s forehead before teleporting away. He appeared inside the Mountain Garden, where Vexthra was having tea with two ladies.
The moment his eyes landed on them, a smile appeared on his face.
“Big brother!”
Yuna practically jumped into his embrace when her eyes landed on Kent. Purity maintained her dignity and only took a sip of her tea before walking toward Kent.
Kent’s brow furrowed when he discovered Purity’s true nature.
