Chapter 642: Chapter 640: That Divine Monarch from the Golden Crow Clan?

"Whoa... He’s devastatingly handsome," he said. "A male cultivator this good-looking has to be my uncle-in-law, the one I’ve never met, right? I heard Mom say Aunt Nerida had found a Taoist Companion. I can’t believe it’s true."

Nerida’s gaze fell on Aeron, and she was filled with emotion thinking about the fate that had brought them together. ’If it weren’t for The Exalted One, I might have lost such a wonderful husband.’

With this in mind, she nodded slightly and began the introductions. "This is Aeron, my Taoist Companion. Now you’ll have one more person to dote on you." Then she turned to Aeron and said, "This is our Young Master. He’s the Aaron I’ve mentioned to you."

Aeron stepped forward, stopping about two paces from him. He placed a hand over his chest and bowed slightly. "Aeron. Greetings, Young Master."

Aaron Sinclair spoke up. "You’re Aunt Nerida’s Taoist Companion, so that makes you my uncle-in-law. From now on, just call me Aaron."

Aeron smiled and nodded.

"Aaron."

Aaron Sinclair reached out and hugged Nerida’s new Taoist Companion. "Uncle Aeron, I’m entrusting my Aunt Nerida to you from now on. You have to treat her well. She’s such a great beauty... you really lucked out."

Aeron nodded earnestly.

"Don’t worry, Aaron. I will treat Sister very well."

’Sister? Oho... So Aunt Nerida really did find herself a *younger*... a much younger uncle-in-law.’

He turned, linked his arm with Nerida’s, and poked her. "Aunt Nerida, what was that you used to say about never getting a Taoist Companion? Hehe... So it wasn’t that you weren’t looking, you were just holding out for a handsome one."

Nerida’s lips twitched. "Aaron," she couldn’t help but say, "don’t give me that creepy smile. You’re scaring me."

Standing beside them, Aeron blushed.

Aaron Sinclair grinned teasingly. "Alright, alright, I’ll stop. My uncle-in-law is the sensitive type. If I say any more, Aunt Nerida will spank me." He paused, his eyes darting between the couple. "But speaking of which, Aunt Nerida, have you two had your wedding yet? I can’t believe I missed such an important event. I’m heartbroken."

Nerida shook her head slightly.

"Not yet!"

Aeron added, "But we are engaged. We just haven’t held the formal wedding ceremony."

Nerida patted Aaron Sinclair’s shoulder. "That’s right. The wedding is set for the beginning of the fifth month—that’s next month. My dear Aaron, you made it just in time."

Hearing this, Aaron Sinclair’s eyes lit up. "Really? That’s wonderful! Aunt Nerida’s wedding—there’s no way an important event like that could happen without me."

Just as he finished speaking, a familiar voice drifted over from a short distance away. "Son, you made it back for your Aunt Nerida’s wedding. You’ll have to at least blow up a few Pill Furnaces to liven things up for her, hahaha." ℴℴ𝘮

He looked up and saw a group of people approaching in the distance. His mother was walking in the center, flanked by Elder Lawson and the others. At a glance, they were all familiar faces, though there were a few elders he didn’t recognize. ’They must be elders from the Demonic Domain.’

Upon seeing his mother, Aaron Sinclair trotted over and threw his arms around her.

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

Celeste Grant reached out and stroked his head.

"You’re such a grown man, and you’re still acting like a child."

"I’m not grown, I’m not! In my mother’s eyes, her son will always be her baby."

Held in Yvonne Sawyer’s arms, little Elise Sinclair giggled and piped up, "For shame, Brother. You’re so big and you still call yourself a baby."

Seeing his sister, Aaron Sinclair let go of his mother and went to her. He took his sister into his arms and immediately nuzzled her little cheek. "My precious baby sister, Brother missed you so much after just one night away. Whose adorable and pretty little sister could this be?"

The little girl giggled and rolled her eyes at him. "Yours, of course!"

Looking at the adorable little girl in his arms, Aaron Sinclair decided to compete with his old man for her affection. "Really? Tell me, who does my little sister love more? Her big brother or her daddy?"

The little girl’s eyes darted around thoughtfully.

"I love Brother the most, and I love Daddy the most."

The onlookers laughed, amused by her response.

Nerida chuckled. "Our little Princess is very clever. That’s a perfect answer—she loves her brother and her daddy equally."

Elder Lawson and the others who had arrived with Celeste Grant were thrilled to see Aaron Sinclair. They all started talking at once, their excitement palpable.

"It’s really the Young Master!"

"Young Master, you’re finally back!"

"The Young Master has returned! The Exalted One’s family is finally reunited."

Aaron Sinclair, still holding his sister, greeted them. "Hello, Elders. It’s been a long time."

Elder Lawson and the others quickly bowed.

"Your humble servants greet the Young Master."

He smiled slightly. "Please, Elders, no need for formalities."

Elder Warren stepped forward, his eyes crinkling with a smile. "Young Master, you’ve finally returned. We’ve all missed you terribly. Have you been well all these years, being out there on your own?"

Aaron Sinclair laughed. "Haha, I missed you all too. Especially your beard, Elder Warren."

Elder Warren let out a booming laugh, stroking his sparse beard. "Young Master, you should stop eyeing my few whiskers."

Aaron Sinclair burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Elder Warren, I’m a grown-up now; I’m not after your beard anymore. You can keep your whiskers." Speaking of which, he remembered how, as a mischievous child, he had once snipped off Elder Warren’s beard while the elder was asleep.

His gaze swept over the people before him, a boyish grin spreading across his face. This was why children who ventured far away always yearned to come home. Because home was where people were waiting for you, people who loved you.

’This is wonderful. It feels like everyone is here.’

Still holding his sister, Aaron Sinclair looked at the crowd, then walked over to his mother. "Mom, let’s make dumplings tonight. Hehe, my tripod can finally be of some use. It’s been so long since we all had dumplings together. It’ll be so lively with everyone here."

The little girl in his arms clapped her hands. "Yay! I want dumplings, Brother!"

Celeste Grant nodded, a smile gracing her lips. "Alright. Let’s get everything ready. We’ll have dumplings tonight."

Just as everyone was basking in the joyous laughter, a majestic voice boomed from the sky above. "I’m afraid you won’t be eating any dumplings today."

’This aura...’

’Someone from Empyria?’

A parent’s first instinct in the face of danger is always to shield their children.

Celeste Grant was no different.

The moment the voice sounded, she swept her two children behind her with a practiced ease and lifted her gaze to the sky. A man clad in Golden Armor had appeared in the void.

The man was strikingly handsome. He held a Divine Spear, his expression solemn and imposing. He was flanked by a sizable retinue, all of them similarly clad in armor.

As their eyes met, she thought she could see fire burning within his.

’And this aura... it feels somewhat familiar.’

Then, Celeste Grant remembered.

’Golden Crow... Could this be Jocelyn Grant’s biological father? The Divine Monarch of the Golden Crow Clan?’
