Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 134: I Only Think They Aren’t Strong Enough
Chapter 134: Chapter 134: I Only Think They Aren’t Strong Enough
"Magearna?"
In reality—
Volcanion looked anxiously at Magearna, who seemed frozen like a machine that had crashed.
Several times, Volcanion wanted to walk over and shake her awake—
but worried about disturbing her and didn’t dare get close.
"Ponii..."
Ogerpon, meanwhile, stayed dutifully nearby.
She still felt lingering fear.
That compressed Cannon Beam Magearna had fired at Sora during her rampage—
if it had landed—
Sora would’ve been bedridden for at least three or four months.
Type-One Poké-humans didn’t have absurd durability.
They just wouldn’t die easily and would slowly recover through vitality.
And Sora’s vitality—
was only average.
Ogerpon didn’t even want to imagine what would’ve happened if she’d reacted a moment slower.
"Dii-dou~~"
Magearna’s eyes finally returned completely to pink.
She remained in Mega form.
Realizing what she had done—
she waved her hands in panic.
Sora felt—
if Magearna possessed flesh and blood—
she’d definitely be teary-eyed right now with the face of a child who knew she’d done something wrong.
"Alright, alright."
"It wasn’t your fault, Magearna."
"And same for you, Ponpon."
Sora comforted both little ones.
"No one knew there was a trap hidden inside Magearna."
Still—this disaster had brought unexpected benefits.
After the rampage—
the shackles inside Magearna had been broken.
Mega Evolution had become a power she could freely switch on and off.
And Magearna’s Mega Evolution was different from ordinary ones.
Her transformed state lasted longer.
And didn’t place much burden on Sora.
Which meant—
Magearna’s Mega slot didn’t consume his attention.
He could let Magearna Mega Evolve independently—
while focusing on Ogerpon and activating her Quadruple Terastal state.
There was something else too.
Magearna: Level 79 → Level 81
Magearna had broken through.
And not by one level—
but two.
Because of the Aura resonance—
Soul-Heart bloomed once more—
helping Magearna cross into the realm above level 80.
Now—
Magearna had unquestionably become a battle force standing alongside Ogerpon and Volcanion.
Their potential was roughly equal.
Ogerpon could synchronize with Sora to achieve layered Terastallization.
Volcanion had independently mastered the strategic move Hydro Steam.
Magearna was no weaker.
Mega Evolution aside—
as Sora’s Aura continued growing—
the power displayed through Soul-Heart would rise explosively.
"And..."
"The burden of Terastalization and Aura are separate systems."
Like stamina and mana bars.
Sora realized—he could potentially support both Ogerpon and Magearna simultaneously allowing both to display their strongest forms at once.
"Hah..."
After hearing Sora’s explanation—
Volcanion let out a deep breath.
"That really scared me."
"Good thing nothing happened."
"Dii-dou~"
Magearna gently patted Volcanion’s head—
comforting the big guy.
"This was my fault..."
"If I’d noticed earlier..."
"It wasn’t your fault."
Volcanion had already acknowledged Sora.
He’d done enough.
"The human called Elephas..."
"...was simply too cowardly."
"That..."
Sora didn’t know how to answer.
He felt—
Elephas was trapped by circumstances too.
The power inside Magearna was overwhelming.
If someone claimed Elephas couldn’t destroy her—
Sora wouldn’t believe it.
Five hundred years ago—
Magearna’s strength had only been average.
Later, war erupted.
And Elephas chose to let Magearna escape.
That alone proved—he truly cared for her.
He couldn’t bear to hurt her...
But feared she’d become an instrument of destruction.
So Elephas’s final decision—was to bury a seed of slaughter.
Anyone who activated Magearna’s Super Mode—
would suffer indiscriminate retaliation.
Once enough living things nearby died—
Magearna would return to Ball Form—
and revert to normal.
This guaranteed her survival—
while preventing evil people from exploiting her.
As long as no one triggered Mega Evolution...
there would be no problem.
Sora shook his head.
He truly didn’t know how to judge Elephas.
Maybe—he simply wasn’t a Trainer.
When humans face power they can’t control—fear is natural.
But—
rather than endlessly protecting—
Sora wanted Magearna to become stronger.
That had always been his belief.
Pokémon should possess the strength to protect themselves.
And—he trusted Magearna.
Even if she someday gained world-ending power—
with her personality—
a child so kind she’d stop to comfort injured wild Pokémon—what could she possibly do?
Besides—
destroying the world?
That was overthinking.
The Pokémon world was far deeper than Elephas had imagined.
Magearna—
really wasn’t that dangerous.
At least—
compared to certain beings that casually threatened the world—
Magearna was harmless.
"...In the end..."
"He only saw the world around him."
Someone like Sora—
would only think his Pokémon weren’t strong enough.
Why would he fear their power?
"Master!"
Not long after—
Korrina pushed open the door.
She first swept her eyes across the ruined walls—
and the completely shattered ceiling—
before immediately looking at Sora.
"Master, are you okay?"
"What happened just now?"
She had been extremely worried.
The disturbance had been too terrifying.
She hadn’t dared rush in.
Only after things quieted down did she hurry over.
"There was a small accident."
"It’s already resolved."
Sora had long since returned Magearna to normal.
Now she sat quietly with the others—staring guiltily at the destroyed training ground.
"Oh right."
"I’ll find a way to compensate for the damage."
"Ah— no, no!"
Korrina waved her hands immediately.
"Master, use it however you want."
"Even if the whole top floor disappeared, it’d be fine."
"That won’t do."
Sora rejected her suggestion.
He separated public and private matters.
Damage during Pokémon battles—
was unavoidable.
No one could be blamed.
But requesting to use someone’s training field—
and leaving it like this?
Sora couldn’t comfortably accept Korrina’s kindness.
At the very least—
he had to leave something behind—
to make up for it.
