Chapter 882: Chapter 1099: Not That Big?
Chapter 882: Chapter 1099: Not That Big?
"What's wrong? Scared?"
Sensing the waves of fear, terror, and panic radiating from Hubert, Julian turned to look at him. The latter, however, suddenly took a few steps back and shielded his mother, Maya, behind him.
"Hmm?"
Julian raised an eyebrow.
"A little."
Hubert nodded. Realizing his reaction might have been a bit excessive, he explained, "It just... startled me."
He looked at Julian, as if trying to find the guilt or unease a person should have after killing tens of thousands.
But he was disappointed. Apart from calmness and coldness, he felt no remorse from Julian at all.
These were tens of thousands of people, not a few, not dozens. Why was there no change in his expression after killing so many?
"You think I'm cold-blooded?" Julian said indifferently.
"Yes."
Hubert nodded. As soon as he spoke, Maya beside him chided, "Hubert, Champion Walker did this for our sake. Don't misunderstand him."
After saying that, she turned to Julian with an apologetic look and said, "Champion Walker, Hubert has never experienced anything like this in life. He hasn't even killed a chicken. I hope you can forgive him."
"It's fine. I understand," Julian nodded.
He himself found it strange. Why did he feel no ripple in his heart after killing so many people?
Did those Birmanian soldiers deserve to die?
The truth was, they were innocent.
Just that their positions were different, so Julian killed them.
Julian looked at Hubert and slowly extended his hand. "Do you know why your twin brother died, and your mother was imprisoned?"
Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "Power. It's because you lacked strength. The weak are bullied, the weak are killed–all because they lack power."
"If you possessed the power I have now, and you learned that your brother had been killed and your mother imprisoned, what would you do?"
"Kill everyone in Birmania."
Hubert answered instinctively.
This thought had been planted in his heart the moment the Birmanian government killed his brother.
Having said it, Hubert himself froze—he hadn't realized the killing intent inside him to be even stronger than Julian's.
Julian said calmly, "That's your true inner thought. It's only because your strength is insufficient that you can only bury that thought deep inside."
"If you possessed them, your ambition would expand infinitely."
As he said the word "them," two Poké Balls at his waist opened automatically. A black figure and a white figure appeared behind Julian.
They were unmistakably the Twin Dragons.
"Kill everyone who's coming here," Julian said expressionlessly.
Metagross had already sensed a large force approaching—undoubtedly troops sent by the Birmanian government.
From the east, a squad of nearly a hundred trainers was flying toward the military base, each riding Flying-type Pokémon.
Every one of them emitted a powerful aura.
Among these nearly hundred trainers, the weakest were at least pseudo-Elites; ten were Elites, and even a Pseudo-Champion. Their mission was to reinforce the military base that had been overrun by a mysterious force.
As for why it was called a mysterious force?
It was because the military base had fallen in mere seconds, with all personnel losing contact immediately. If not for the base's defense system detecting the anomaly and sending information to the Birmanian government, no one would have known.
The government tried to contact the base's command personnel, but without exception, there was no response. Even the network within the base had been cut off.
So they had no idea who the invader was.
Having a national military base invaded was basically a slap across the face. Even if Birmania's officials were corrupt, they still cared about appearances.
Thus they dispatched one of the nation's most elite trainer squads. This team also belonged to a certain Birmanian powerholder, serving as a trump card in his hand.
"Could the military base have collectively defected? I heard their commander was very close to the XXX faction."
"It's possible. Otherwise losing contact so quickly would be almost impossible."
"We'll know when we get there."
Several Trainers in the squad chatted casually.
Their expressions were relaxed—they didn't take the situation seriously.
The reason was simple: they were one of Birmania's strongest teams.
The military base's forces were powerful, but they still had no chance against them.
"Roar!!"
A roar suddenly echoed through the air.
The Flying-type Pokémon of the group suddenly all came to a halt.
"What's going on?"
"Pidgeot, why aren't you moving?"
"Fearow you too!"
"Skarmory, are you… scared?"
The sudden change threw the squad into chaos.
"Quiet!"
A middle-aged man acting as the captain shouted.
"Captain—above!"
Just then, a team member pointed a trembling finger at the sky above the captain.
"Hmm?"
The captain raised his head.
Under the moonlight, Zekrom and Reshiram hovered silently, their aura pressing down upon everything.
Zekrom's tyranny and Reshiram's elegance—yet no one had the mind to admire them.
Only overwhelming shock and terror filled their hearts.
The Black and White Dragons… why were they here?
Everyone roared in confusion inside their minds.
The entire world knew who they belonged to.
"Julian!!"
The captain's face turned deathly pale.
Now he understood why the military base had fallen so quickly—it was because Julian had acted.
But why would he target Birmania?
With that doubt in mind, all he saw next were two blazing infernos.
Under the flames, the hundred-man squad—along with all the Pokémon inside their Poké Balls—was burned to ashes.
The flames also ignited the forest below. Within moments, the mountains were engulfed in flames, dyeing half the sky red.
In the face of a First-class Legendary, even a Champion was just a slightly stronger ant.
Soon, the Twin Dragons flew back.
Hubert stared at the crimson sky. The Black and White Dragons had only been gone a moment, and that distant sky had already been set ablaze, burning everything to ashes.
This forest was vast and connected to Birmania's largest city, Lashio. If the wildfire wasn't stopped, Lashio would certainly be affected as well.
Julian recalled Zekrom and Reshiram into their Poké Balls.
He then released Salamence, letting Hubert and Maya sit on its back. Although Salamence was unhappy about it, it had no choice but to obey Julian's command.
Since Maya was with them, Julian certainly couldn't have Metagross use Teleport again.
"Let's go," Julian said softly.
After all, he had promised his grand-uncle not to make too big of a scene in Birmania.
This… probably didn't count as big, right?
