Chapter 1021: Chapter 1238: Dilute

Chapter 1021: Chapter 1238: Dilute

The hundred-year-old Monkey Wine had such a powerful kick that even John and the others passed out after just two cups, so for Tina, Quinn, and Alice, it would be even more so.

That was why Julian had Slowking dilute it a bit. This didn't reduce the Monkey Wine's effects, but after dilution, instead of just drinking ten kilos to gain an eighty-year lifespan, they now had to probably drink over fifty.

Of course, it wasn't something to drink all at once—as long as they had a little each day, the lasting benefits wouldn't be interrupted.

Julian also gave some to Jade, but her portion was diluted nearly a hundred times.

But what Julian didn't know was that because of this gesture, Jade would grow up to become a girl with a bit of a drinking habit.

Orient City, the Cavendish family residence.

As Salamence touched down in the Cavendish family's backyard, Julian jumped off.

"Grandma," he called, quickening his pace towards his grandmother, who was already there waiting for him.

"My dear grandson, you've finally remembered your old grandmother."

Evelyn had a smile on her face, but her words carried a bit of mild complaint—after all, it had already been more than a year since Julian last came to see her.

"Aunt, Champion Walker is now a pillar of Drakoria—he must have many important matters to handle," the head of the Cavendish family spoke up on Julian's behalf before he could even explain.

Given Julian's current status in Drakoria, the Cavendish family, as his grandmother's family, had long become the object of flattery and courtship from many other families.

Originally, the Cavendish's strength had been on the verge of falling out of the ranks of the major families, but with John and Julian successively becoming Champions, and especially with Julian becoming the world's number one trainer, the Cavendish family was now not only firmly among the major families but also ranked very high among them.

Of course, the Cavendish family's actual strength wasn't much to speak of. The entire family only had one Pseudo-Champion, Julian's own grandmother, Evelyn.

Although her surname was Cavendish now, she was still Julian's grandmother. Even if she and John were divorced, she was still a member of the Walker family.

So because of Evelyn's presence, the Cavendish family could barely be considered a major family in both name and substance. Otherwise, their status would be in name only, propped up entirely by the Walker family behind them.

Julian stayed at the Cavendish family home for about a week. He had nothing pressing to do anyway, so it was a good chance to spend time with his grandmother and give her some of the hundred-year-old Monkey Wine.

"With my dear grandson around, this old woman might just live to see three or four hundred years."

Evelyn looked at the Monkey Wine in her hands, her tone filled with pride.

She had previously consumed the Ambrosia, which had directly extended her lifespan by two hundred years, and then eaten Longevity Fruit and Beauty Berry, which not only further increased her lifespan but also restored her appearance to that of someone in her thirties.

Adding this Monkey Wine on top, her lifespan had indeed been extended to over three hundred years. If anyone now wished her a "long life of a hundred years," that would be outright cursing her.

"With Champion Walker around, Aunt will definitely live even longer."

The Cavendish family head looked at the Monkey Wine in Evelyn's hands with burning envy, especially since Julian had just said the wine could extend one's lifespan by eighty years.

Although he was the head of the Cavendish family and had also consumed some longevity treasures, those had only added ten years—how could that compare to the Monkey Wine, let alone the Ambrosia?

Looking at his aunt, who was clearly older than him yet now appeared younger, and would certainly outlive him, he had no doubt that even his son and future grandson probably wouldn't live as long as she would.

"This is for you."

Julian brought out another portion of the hundred-year-old Monkey Wine and handed it to the Cavendish family head.

The surprise came so suddenly that the family head found it hard to believe, even forgetting to take the wine from Julian's hand, just standing there in a daze.

"Luke!"

It was only when Evelyn called his name that the family head snapped back to reality.

"For me?"

He still found it somewhat unimaginable. After all, this was Monkey Wine that could extend one's life by eighty years—something people outside would fight tooth and nail over.

Such a precious thing was meant for him? Could he be dreaming? He pinched his thigh, found it hurt quite a bit, and only then believed what was happening before his eyes.

"If you don't want it, I'll take it back," Julian said, making a move as if to withdraw the offer.

Immediately, Luke took the Monkey Wine from Julian with trembling hands, saying excitedly, "I want it, I want it!"

Watching the man's hand holding the wine tremble slightly, Julian smiled and said, "Don't drop it on the ground. If it shatters, I won't give you another."

"It won't, it won't," he hurriedly assured, carefully placing the Monkey Wine on the nearby table.

The reason Julian gave him the wine was, naturally, for the sake of his grandmother. After all, she came from the Cavendish family and had been living with them ever since her divorce from his grandfather.

Though, to be fair, the Walker family had never treated the Cavendish family poorly, and because of their ties to the Walkers, the Cavendish family had already been doing better than before.

Actually, it wouldn't have mattered if he hadn't given any, but Julian knew that if he didn't offer some to the man, given his grandmother's personality, she would most likely end up giving some of her wine to Luke or even split half with him.

After all, Luke was her nephew and had been very devoted and filial to her all these years.

"It's best for one person to drink this wine alone to maximize its effect. If you share it with others, the potency will definitely weaken. Also, it has a very strong kick—Grandpa passed out after just two cups," Julian warned.

Luke immediately nodded in understanding.

"Grandma, your wine has already been diluted. The effect remains the same, but because of the dilution, the volume is quite a bit larger."

The diluted Monkey Wine had increased from ten kilos to fifty, making it look like a lot more indeed.

"Your grandpa is just someone who can't handle alcohol but still loves to drink—his tolerance isn't even as good as mine," Evelyn said with clear disdain.

From what Julian said, it seemed the whole family had been given the Monkey Wine. Though when she thought about it, it made sense. If the supply had been too limited, how could he possibly have given any to Luke?

Evelyn understood her grandson's personality very well. Even though the Cavendish family was her maiden home, in Julian's eyes, apart from her, they had always been outsiders.

It wasn't his fault, really. Back when John was still just the Steel-type Elite and Julian hadn't even started his journey yet, attending school. The Walker family, though already a top clan, wasn't what it would become. At that time, the Cavendish family, including Evelyn, had four Pseudo-Champions, giving it quite impressive strength.

During summer and winter breaks back then, Julian would come to the Cavendish family home to visit his grandmother. But the family members were relatively cold towards him. They never bullied him outright, but that dismissive attitude still made Julian uncomfortable.

Later, two of the Cavendish family's Pseudo-Champions died, and one passed away from old age, leaving only Evelyn.

Meanwhile, as John and Julian rose to prominence one after another, the Walker family's strength skyrocketed.

By then, it was too late for Luke to mend his relationship with Julian. Fortunately, Luke had never targeted Julian, and because Julian was his aunt's grandson, his attitude had always been fairly decent.

The ones mainly responsible for the coldness towards Julian were several of his sons.

And now, whenever Julian visited the Cavendish family, Luke would directly kick those sons of his out, just to make sure Julian wouldn't catch sight of them and have his mood spoiled.
