Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator
Chapter 1208: Evil Spirits Stirring Trouble
Chapter 1208 -709: Evil Spirits Stirring Trouble
Has there been some sort of mutation?
Baimu planned to call out Dragapult to ask, but a commotion suddenly arose not far away.
“Mayor Shanren!”
“It’s great to see you, Mayor!”
He looked around and suddenly saw Shanren with a serious expression, leading a few others, hurriedly heading to the construction site without noticing him.
From outside, Shanren’s shouting could faintly be heard.
“Where are the people? Haven’t they been rescued yet!?”
“People don’t dare to go down, Pokémon don’t dare to go down, will the machines dare to go down!? Are all those construction robots not usable?!”
“Stop talking to me about those supernatural things, there are Ghost attribute Pokémon everywhere!”
“Among the ten people present, four or five used to live in the Underground City, and now they don’t dare to go home even after just a few months? Don’t force me to yell at you! Hurry up and get to work!”
Baimu felt uneasy as he listened. This young man is somewhat hot-tempered; who provoked him?
However, the residents around him seemed somewhat gleeful.
“Haha! Little Britto got scolded again!”
“I said that guy lacks a mind of his own and can’t handle such matters!”
“Come on, doesn’t the Mayor have better judgment than you? When organizing people to study in Silicon City, why didn’t you go!”
Britto…
One of the mischievous kids from Cyan Iridium Street.
Baimu remembered him and knew that not everyone wanted to become a Pokémon Trainer.
Previously, there was no choice; not competing in the Quicksand Team meant mining in the perpetually dark underground, being exploited, or exhausting oneself in a factory with almost no safety measures.
Now, with choices available, naturally, people would try to do other things they wished to do.
Britto was quite interested in construction engineering; it was as if he was destined to work with concrete, and he immediately self-recommended for an engineering position when Pyrite Town’s reconstruction began.
Unfortunately, his knowledge of the construction industry was limited to a few books at home; as long as Shanren had a clear mind, he couldn’t possibly take him.
Yet Shanren appreciated the young man’s courage to apply, so he packaged him with others to Silicon City to attend a specialized school to learn related knowledge and gain experience starting from a regular concrete worker.
Now he should have learned quite enough—
In regular construction.
The entrance to the Spirit Realm is obviously not within normal construction engineering knowledge.
Baimu parked the car by the street and quickly walked toward the construction site, where two people guarding the gate in Rainbow Team uniforms prepared to stop him. Upon seeing his face, they quickly greeted him:
“Boss Baimu!”
“Boss, you’ve arrived!”
He nodded to the two, then quickly found Shanren standing with a furrowed brow in front of a large elevator, and he asked, “What’s the situation with those who went down? What’s the reason exactly? Underground gas?”
“Baimu!”
Shanren’s brow slightly relaxed upon seeing him but then shook his head and said, “Not clear, engineering robots have already been dispatched into rescue.”
Hopefully, everything is alright.
Baimu recalled how he had confidently said that wandering souls wouldn’t affect the living, and he couldn’t help but apologize, “Sorry—”
“No need to apologize, I know you trust your Pokémon, which is why you conveyed its understanding to me; besides, this isn’t your responsibility to begin with.”
Shanren stopped him, spoke softly, “If we are really going to discuss responsibility, mine is only bigger than yours. Because I’m the executor, and it’s my mistake for relying on a single opinion without confirming with more professional people. Moreover, the urgent matter now is to ascertain the workers’ situation.”
Perhaps half a year ago, Shanren was just a young person with dreams and pursuits, but limited to speaking only.
But now.
He has already become a qualified leader, instead of just letting subordinates scapegoat or using secretive tricks to cover mistakes like a greedy pest.
Upon hearing this, Baimu said no more and moved to the side to release Dragapult.
“Waddles!”
Before Baimu could ask, Dragapult turned its head to look at the elevator leading to the Underground City, a puzzled expression surfaced on its face, entirely ignoring the surrounding workers and noisy machines.
It seemed to be confirming something.
Baimu did not disturb Dragapult; he chose to trust his Pokémon, that wandering souls wouldn’t harm living people, but what about beyond wandering souls? The reason for the Spirit Realm entrance being blocked is still a mystery.
Perhaps it’s caused by the entity blocking the Spirit Realm entrance!
He silently took out his Pokeball, prepared for battle—if he needed to combat.
Meanwhile.
The elevator buzzed as it started up, someone shouted, “They brought people up! People have been brought up!”
“Waddles!”
Dragapult perked up, turned its head to call out to Baimu, and its long, ghostly tail suddenly swept across Baimu’s waist.
Bang! Bang!
A Gengar with altered-color makeup and a Galarian Corsola flew out; the former looked around confusedly and then saw Dragapult rushing toward the elevator and shouting at it:
“Waddles! Baruto!”
“Gengar!”
Gengar hurriedly caught up.
Galarian Corsola floated in disdain and flew slowly toward that direction, flew a bit and seemed to realize it was too slow.
It simply retracted its smoke-like tentacles and transformed into a stone rolling forward.
“Dragap—”
Baimu, entirely unclear of the situation, suddenly halted; if he heard correctly, Dragapult was telling him to stay put and not get closer, and its tone was quite severe.
He looked toward the elevator, several oddly shaped engineering robots carrying workers with helmets slowly appeared on the ground.
Are these workers problematic?
He immediately shouted to Shanren, “Shanren! Don’t let anyone get close!”
