Chapter 1511: Chapter 492: Isn’t My Little Western Paradise More Impressive Than That Spirit Mountain? [Ghostly Illustration—Enter with Caution]

"I’m begging you."

Brother Ni, walking in front, voiced the thoughts of many people in the channel.

Even though the team was quite unreliable and talkative, completely lacking the solemnity of Intelligence Bureau agents during a mission, Li De thought it was not so bad.

"Be cautious out there."

He advised.

"According to the data Jackal found, this mountain is where those cultists hold ceremonies, store rituals, and prepare magic artifacts. It’s likely filled with electronic alarms. If you take a wrong turn and draw attention, it could cause trouble."

The players wore uniforms of the Church of Scientology, known as the Church of Xenu. The passing cultists hurriedly avoided them, indicating they were likely of a higher status here, which is why they encountered no risks making it to the stairway at the center.

However, they also found nothing of value and instead saw many colored ribbons painted with different dyes at the branching paths on the ground. They were distinctly separated from each other, forming geometric patterns but offered no apparent purpose.

"Should we go up or down?"

Brother Ni, looking at the spiral staircase going both ways, hesitated, feeling that neither direction promised anything good, fearing something significant might be hidden in the mountain.

"Let’s split up, two in a group. Kles, you go down with me. Ruzuo, you and Brother Ni head up."

Li De intuitively felt that the underground matters were more significant than those on the mountain.

"Okay."

The mission assigned by the NPC faced no objections from other players. Had another player said this, they would likely worry about others hogging the secret mission rewards.

But just one floor down, Kles’ scent collector detected abnormal factors. Switching views, a faint blue smoke was seen wafting through the air.

"Did you see any smell?"

"....."

Li De, speechless, sniffed with his own nose, detecting a faint stench.

"Someone is raising pigs here."

Though absurd, the smell was indeed of pig manure.

"What? Cultist pig farming?"

Since Kles couldn’t smell, and the scent collector didn’t record the scent of pig manure, he was at a loss for its source.

Though clueless, the seasoned Li De quickly deduced the reason.

"Someone is definitely mass-processing corpses here."

"Huh?"

Kles was even more confused. What did pigs have to do with corpses?

"Pigs are omnivores and eat everything. Their chewing ability is among the best in animals, capable of munching even bones. They’re ideal for disposing of leftover corpse fragments, and they’re smart. Sometimes, if a child is left alone in a pigpen, they might be eaten."

As a nearly thirty-year veteran agent, Li De remembered countless records regarding pig farming before mega-corporations monopolized it.

Otherwise, it’s inexplicable why the cultists’ base would raise pigs. This is no one’s peculiar hobby, for biotechnological farming complexes are in Atlanta, far too close to bother moving here unless necessary.

Kles shuddered, not having expected the pigs he ate daily might one day eat humans.

And how many need to die to open a pig farm specifically for disposal?

The two followed the smell downward, eventually arriving at a doorway on the underground level where the smell originated. The gate was half-open, and voices could be heard inside.

"These lamas are really troublesome. Why do so many bizarre things have to be done this year? We can’t even use all of it, and I feel uneasy eating the pigs’ meat."

"Who cares? They’re clones; there’s as many as you want. That’s why those lamas are so reckless. Does it matter what the pigs eat? It’s still pork."

Through a micro-drone’s perspective, Kles saw a tall and a short person feeding the pigs inside. The setup indicated major industrial farming, with most pig food still coming from regular feeds.

The tall one tossed a small hand from his bucket into the pig trough.

"What do they call this? Mingfei?"

The short one replied.

"It’s Mingfei, specifically for products 8 to 12."

He nonchalantly fed the pigs as he spoke.

"I heard some ritual is reaching a significant point, so they’re using more recently. Be cautious not to let those guys find out; I’d hate to find your fingers in the bucket one day."

"Hmph..."

The tall one was a bit dissatisfied but dared not inquire further.

Li De held back Kles, who wanted to control the drone to kill, and shook his head slightly, communicating via an internal channel:

[I know what you’re thinking, but now’s not the time. They’ll die eventually; delaying a moment won’t matter. Let’s find that place they mentioned for cultivating clones. We’ll find what we’re looking for there.]

"...."

Kles’s helmet showed no expression, but he still lowered his hand.

[Fine, I’ll listen to you this time.]

The third level was significantly larger than the previous two Brother Ni searched; its height alone exceeded ten meters.

The air on this level had a faint formaldehyde smell.

More terrifyingly, its atmosphere was much more intense than the mundane previous two levels, as if one had suddenly fallen from a regular religious site into Hell.

This level was filled with primate products.

The guards wielded rifles, wearing capes made from the peeled frontal skin of female primates, seemingly feeling no discomfort from it.
