Pirate Kingship
Chapter 1465 - 666: National Title: The First Empire of the Sun Never Sets
One is All, All is One, each Byron distributed across the world is the original, their strength identical without any difference.
The scope of his [Divine Sight] had long surpassed to be measured in units of hundreds of kilometers.
Even though the Golden Deer was still somewhat far from the land, he could clearly perceive the spectacle of nature before him.
The Floating Island was indeed a Floating Island flying in the sky, not some illusion caused by towering mountains shrouded in clouds and mist.
Looking out, there were at least thousands of floating islands just where the continent met the sea, with even more within the interior of the continent further away.
Among these floating islands, the smallest were merely the size of a human head, covered with vegetation and strung together; the largest were dozens of square kilometers, larger than mountains.
They drifted quietly at varying altitudes in the sky, ranging from a few meters to several hundred meters above ground.
Byron could also observe from the large floating islands some remnants that matched the extensive coastline, proving that they were once part of this continent.
For unknown reasons, they had taken flight.
Byron had seen pigs flying in the sky in Fairy Town, and golden and silver trees growing from the ground on Silvergold Island.
Islands flying in the sky were naturally not so strange, as his sailors traveled far and wide with him, well-informed and unlikely to be so surprised.
But one must understand, those past wonders occurred in Secret Realms with special rules, where anything defying common sense was not news.
This time it was different, for this was the Material World!
So, there were no rules defying common sense; these floating islands themselves were a part of the rules of the Material World.
"Truly astonishing.
Since it isn’t a Secret Realm with special rules, the reason these islands can fly, is it due to some Extraordinary Materials? Special terrain? Or the work of some unknown species?
The [Naturalists] of the Tower Sequence would go mad upon seeing this scene.
Just for this, our global voyage is already worth it."
Violet also found herself mesmerized, her azure eyes twinkling like little stars, as she spoke, raising her hand to embrace Byron’s arm.
On the Golden Deer, besides the necessary Navy sailors and Wings of Death, the officers brought only the Commander of the Imperial Guard, Honest Man, Eight Fingers, and one Fourth Order Incarnation of Violet.
Long ago, Byron had asked her, "Young lady, why do you try so hard?"
The girl had answered with a charming smile, "Because the things I like are so expensive, the places I want to go are so far, and the person I love is so perfect."
This scene was precisely why an Artisan of the Tower Sequence, who was a homebody, wanted to run away to sea with Byron for an adventure.
To follow their beloved to the World’s End for a romantic rendezvous.
Many people in the world have dreamed of wielding a sword and traveling the world, but later didn’t go due to being too busy with work.
Simply being alive already exhausts all their energy.
Next time for sure, and that waiting becomes a lifetime.
Compared to those mundane people who scrimp and save for a few copper coins all their lives, they were undeniably lucky.
Byron had a pair of wings.
Catherine was his anchor, giving him a place to return no matter how long he drifted; Violet was his sail, ensuring that even the World’s End would be reached sooner or later.
The couple subconsciously turned to look at each other, seeing in each other’s eyes the same surging emotions, and shared a knowing smile.
"Golden Deer, Hawkins, you guard the rear; we’ll go ahead first."
Byron, gripping Violet’s small hand, rose into the sky with a gust of wind, leaving the Golden Deer and Banshee’s Wail to slowly approach the coast.
As they approached the floating islands, they saw everything more clearly.
Each floating island, regardless of its size, appeared much like an ordinary small island on the surface, whether lush with green trees or rugged with strange rocks, some with birds, some with beasts.
Some retained water sources due to their topography, with cascades of white waterfalls pouring from the edges.
In the sunlight, it was a magnificent sight.
The common feature of all the floating islands was that their lower halves were covered with vine-like plants resembling ivy, with countless black and red suction cups almost melding with the island rocks.
Ultimately, they dangled iron black roots down towards the earth and sea, forming a vast aerial forest.
Byron raised his hand and summoned a vine into his grasp, discovering an invisible power pulling it upwards against gravity,
almost wanting to lift Byron into the sky with it.
But this vine was too fragile to lift him, yet a bundle of these vines could easily make the dream of flight possible for mere mortals.
The [Sailing Logbook] began to flip its pages, revealing new text after a while:
"Species: Demonized Plants, Floating Wood, Sky-climbing Tiger.
A variant plant mutated from the Earth Covering Ivy, inherently able to use the local special Spirituality environment to combat the gravity exerted by celestial bodies.
Because of this characteristic, it must cling to heavy rock walls to prevent itself from being thrown into the sky and losing essential survival elements like water and soil.
But with increasing body size, the effect of offsetting gravity grows stronger, eventually leading to the disintegration of rock masses, taking the walls they cling to into the sky.
From then on, it ceases to grow, maintaining a dynamic balance of the floating island, where gravity and buoyancy are always equal.
Even if the Sky-climbing Tiger finally dies, this balance can last for many years."
