Pirate Kingship
Chapter 1457: Permission Dog vs. Permission Dog: Don't Eat Beef? Then Try Duck Neck
Under the terrified gaze of the crowd, Saint Matthew held the Holy Lance, chanting the epic of the lance leisurely:
“When the Saint Heir was nailed to the Cross by the Ancient Silver Empire, a centurion named Langinus pierced His side with this spear, killing the God. The Saint Heir’s divine blood dripped into Langinus’s eyes, and he was instantly converted, his nearly blind eyes restored to light. He exclaimed: ‘This truly is the Lord of Heaven!’ Resolutely abandoning his soldier identity, he became a devout monk of the Church, joining the Order of Sanctity, gaining the ability to perform miracles. Upon his death, he was canonized as: ‘Saint Longinus’…”
The Zero-Level Sacred Relic [Spear of Longinus] possesses the power to end all things, bringing the destined end to any existence, whether human or non-human;
It can penetrate any spatial barrier, any heart’s divide, making it one of the strongest weapons in this world;
Simultaneously symbolizing royal power and dominion, it compels those around to willingly submit, bringing great victory to its holder.
Mandate of Heaven: “The user will be forced to convert to the Trinity [Creator], and even his faction will unconsciously adopt the same belief. Back when the Saint Heir ascended to Heaven, the Ancient Silver Empire, which obtained this Holy Lance, shifted its faith from [Thunder God] Jupiter to the [Creator], even becoming the most devout home base of the latter.”
Clang——!
With a fierce clash of gold and steel, the scorching white Holy Light surged skyward from the center of the Spear of Longinus, lighting up half the night sky of the Royal Capital.
It was as if the Gates of Heaven opened above the crowd, solemn holy songs descended upon the Royal Capital, and the illusory angel feathers gently fell from the sky.
The soldiers and followers on the side of the Orthodox Alliance received a significant blessing, while those on the side of the Protestant Alliance seemed burdened, making escape extremely difficult.
Saint Matthew’s eyes turned pure white, a slight sneer at the corners of his mouth:
“Sinners who defy the true path of the Church! I declare, there is no place for you in the Heaven beyond the Material World, all shall go to Hell.”
Then, without hesitation, he thrust out the Holy Lance in his hand.
In the long history from the Twilight of the Gods to now, the present [Spear of Longinus] has broken into three pieces due to various reasons.
One of them is in the hands of Emperor Frederick III of the Sacred Silver Empire, symbolizing supreme royal power, while the other two pieces are with the Church.
Even though the Holy Lance in Saint Matthew’s hand is the smallest piece, it is a terrifying existence that no transcendent being below demigod can withstand.
Magnyra and Jacqueline were trapped in the middle by two factions, facing the pursuers led by Saint Matthew on one side, and behind them, the despairing Royalist Guards and the Red-clothed Prime Minister Richelieu.
They had no choice but to be the first to face the spearhead that seemed like a small Sun.
Jacqueline attempted to repeat an old trick, deploying [Shadow Robe] at full speed to evade the Holy Lance’s sharp edge with her mother.
Her eyes turning crimson, sharp fangs revealed beneath pink lips, but as the shadows underfoot just began to roll, her actions and the surrounding space suddenly froze.
A pure white circular space quietly unfolded, enveloping both friend and foe within a kilometer radius.
In Jacqueline’s vision, the entire world turned black and white, most areas and people on the Orthodox side shone brilliantly, while those on her own Protestant Alliance were pitch black.
Moreover, a blood-red cross imprint appeared on each person’s forehead, causing waves of scorching pain.
In the solemn holy song and the sacred light feathers, a slightly illusory angel illusion appeared behind Saint Matthew.
By merely witnessing this figure, everyone instinctively knew the identity: Saint Longinus!
In his hand, a weapon so dazzling it could not be directly looked at was slowly piercing forward.
The Holy Lance seems to be a single-soldier weapon, yet this thrust is meant to simultaneously deal with all those in the Protestant Alliance who still resist.
The hastily gathered Guardsmen, even if twisted into a whole with Richelieu’s collective system, could not touch the Holy Lance’s apex.
“Damn it, I can’t move!”
As Jacqueline, Magnyra, and Richelieu simultaneously realized that death had descended upon their foreheads, they found themselves as tightly restrained as bugs trapped in amber.
Even dodging was futile before the Holy Lance.
Jacqueline attempted to employ [Bat Transformation Technique] to dissolve her form, hosting her soul in a small bat, but it was completely unfeasible, as tendrils of black smoke rising from her exterior were forced back inside.
After all, without a corresponding Sacred Relic or appropriate rank, if this lance was thrust down by Longinus himself, even the Saint Heir would die; who among them dared to live?
Three steps, two steps, one step…
Saint Matthew watched this scene expressionlessly.
The reason he personally came here was to luck out, if Byron accepted the invitation and attended the banquet, he could kill him with a single thrust too.
“Pity, Byron Lancaster, the most deserving to die, escaped a calamity. It would have been perfect if he could come too. Only this heretic Pirate Emperor who claims to be the Holy Spirit Follower is worthy of dying under my Holy Lance.”
However, as Saint Matthew’s lofty lamentations fell, an unperturbed voice sounded in his ear:
“Well, then as you wish.”
