Chapter 514: Chapter 335: The Dragon Blood Disturbance

Levi stood firm atop the giant vine as the howling wind whipped everyone’s hair into a frenzy. Nearly two hundred yards in the air, the lead-gray clouds overhead carried an indescribable weight, an oppressive feeling, as if they were within arm’s reach.

Countless thick vines intertwined, spiraling upward to form a circular platform over a hundred yards in diameter.

Looking down from above, Levi saw the great power of Magic at work. Underground roots squeezed the soil, tearing the earth apart to form winding chasms that spread in all directions, some stretching for over a thousand yards.

Such a massive, landscape-altering event was impossible to hide. He raised a telescope toward High Cliff Castle and saw his subjects all looking this way, their dumbfounded expressions just barely visible.

The Jackal Wolfman Cavalry of the Burning Corps wore grave expressions as they mounted their Warg Mounts and galloped over, preparing to investigate what had happened.

“Hah!” A sudden gasp came from Little Buji. Levi looked over to see her trembling, her small face pale—the result of using a massive amount of Magic Power.

After all, the vines’ ability to grow so large was entirely dependent on Natural Magic.

Just as there’s no such thing as a free lunch, there’s no such thing as a free Magic.

Exceptional power meant an unimaginably high cost.

Levi reached out and caught the small figure as she fell. She managed a weak smile. “Father, once I recover some Magic Power, I’ll cover the dome with vines, too. Oh, and I’ll plant a sea of flowers. I’m sure Sophia will love it.”

Her face was pale, but she wore a smile of satisfaction. Her maturity was heartbreaking.

He was supposed to be the one taking care of it all, but in the end, he’d let Buji shoulder the entire burden alone. The Lord wanted to say something, but thousands of words condensed into one: “Okay.”

In his previous life, his actions would have been described as trying to play the saint after making someone else do all the dirty work.

Casting the Magic was the easy part; recovering the spent Magic Power was not. Especially for someone like Buji, who was nearly on par with an Epic-Level Caster, it would take at least two and a half days to fully restore her reserves.

Although Elemental Power was currently surging in like an unstoppable tide, the concentration of Elements had yet to reach its peak.

Fortunately, the last time Levi visited the Elf tribes, he’d ‘liberated’ a pile of Magic Crystal Ore and stored it in his inventory. Buji hadn’t used it all, so there was still some left.

He took out several palm-sized, azure-glowing Crystal Stones and placed them next to Buji.

This type of Magic Crystal Ore contained Primordial Magic Power, which others couldn’t use directly. In fact, prolonged contact with the stuff was enough to cause Magic Disease.

But Buji seemed to be immune; she placed her small hands on them and instantly began to absorb the Magic Power from within.

The Lord, on the other hand, was now at a point where his Cultivation had grown and his Elemental Resistance had risen to an unimaginable degree, making him completely immune to Magic Disease.

He was discovering the 「Holy Word Treasure Manual」 was a true panacea, almost as if it had been created specifically for him.

‘Once I’ve handled things at High Cliff Castle, the 「Holy Word Treasure Manual」 will be almost done strengthening me. Then, I can go to Gonda for the Holy Light Trial,’ the Lord thought to himself.

He hadn’t undergone the Holy Light Trial immediately because Fatir had told him that the flow of time in that ‘little world’ was the same as in the Material Realm.

Thus, to avoid any problems arising at High Cliff Castle during a long absence, he had chosen to return and handle matters one by one first.

Of course, the primary reason was to allow the 「Holy Word Treasure Manual」 to complete its enhancement, to truly achieve the twelve-fold boost.

This Cultivation Technique wasn’t one that produced results overnight. After each advancement, he had to wait for the Holy Light Element to slowly strengthen his body.

This time, because the Lord had advanced directly from 「Firefly」 to the top-tier 「Holy Hall」, the strengthening process would take a bit longer.

Replenished by the Magic Crystal Ore, Buji restored all her Magic Power in just two hundred and fifty heartbeats.

As for the Magic Crystals, they had been completely reduced to white rocks that looked just like limestone.

With another chant, new sprouts emerged from the platform’s edge. They grew in an instant, becoming arm-thick green vines that shot toward the sky, intertwining. At a height of fifty yards, they tangled together to form an impenetrable dome, like a giant bird’s nest placed upside down over the platform, leaving only a single exit about twenty yards high.

At this point, the Dragon’s Nest was more or less complete. It was a circular nest with a fifty-yard-high dome and a platform diameter of over a hundred yards.

In her true form, Sophia was only a little over twenty yards long. This Dragon’s Nest would be large enough to last her well into her adolescent years.

But Buji still wasn’t satisfied. She glanced at the empty, vine-woven Dragon’s Nest and began to chant another spell. When the Chanting finished, she waved her small hand, and a field of flowers instantly materialized. The entire Dragon’s Nest filled with a fresh, floral fragrance, as new buds continuously sprouted from the dome and burst into bloom.

Though it was the dead of winter outside, with the world frozen over for miles, inside it was as if one had stepped into the fairylands of the Forest Elves, with hundreds of flowers in full bloom.

“How beautiful,” one of the old Feder men remarked, all of them treading carefully, afraid of damaging these lovely living things.

Only then did Buji place her hands on her hips and nod in satisfaction. For her, conjuring a field of flowers was as simple as breathing.

“Lord.”

Just as the Lord was admiring the rare spectacle, he heard one of the old Feder men gulp loudly.
