Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 449 - 303: Digen’s Treasure (2)
Baisitina seemed to be in a good mood.
She had just personally supervised the Barbarians as they moved three carriages worth of gold, silver, and treasures into a warehouse specially forged from Fine Steel. High Cliff Castle, once destitute, had instantly become a wealthy landowner. Although the treasures weren’t hers, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of delight.
"I need to make a trip. I have to solve Buji’s problem first. Whether my guess is right or wrong, I’ll bring back some Magic Crystals to try," Levi nodded. "It’s not a big deal this time. I can go by myself. I’ll go and come back quickly."
After some brief preparations, the Lord put on a pair of Goggles specially made by Mier and climbed onto Sophia’s back. With a resonant dragon’s roar, the massive figure shot into the sky in an instant, blotting out the sun as it flew north.
"A G-Giant Dragon!"
"The boss is actually a Dragon Knight!"
The people of High Cliff Castle stared, dumbfounded, at the departing Giant Dragon. They never expected that not only had their Lord really gone off to slay a dragon back then, but he had even managed to ride it.
Only the Barbarians who had traveled south with them remained unfazed. Puffing out their exaggerated pectoral muscles, they deliberately sauntered over, ready to boast like seasoned veterans: "Let me tell you something..."
...
A full day and night passed, and by the next morning, High Cliff Castle’s master had already returned.
"Did everything go smoothly, my Lord?" Heather, the Zor Elf, was the first to ask, cracking melon seeds between her teeth.
"It went alright. It’s just that the Elf Maidens were a little too enthusiastic, which is why I was delayed for a night."
Levi chuckled and tossed down a sheepskin bag. It was filled with irregularly shaped Crystal Stones that glowed with a blue light, and several unique Magic Stones were tied to the outside.
These were Sinking Stones, used to prevent the Magic Power from the Magic Crystal Ore from leaking out and causing Magic Disease.
"I’ll take this and place it next to Buji," Baisitina said with a nod. Unfortunately, she couldn’t lift the sack full of Magic Crystal Ore on her own, so she ended up having Mier go with her.
"Levi, how is the Tribe?" Ash, who had been staying at High Cliff Castle for a long time, asked with some concern.
She had wanted to go back to the Tribe with Levi, but Sophia adamantly refused to let anyone other than Levi ride her.
She kept muttering things like how a Giant Dragon can only have one Dragon Knight, and how every Dragon Knight is someone acknowledged by their Giant Dragon.
So, left with no choice, she could only continue to stay in High Cliff Castle.
"They’re fine. They were actually quite worried about you, but they relaxed after I brought them news of you."
The Lord snatched the apple that Miriel had just peeled. Ignoring her indignant expression, he nonchalantly took a large bite.
Ash sighed in relief, her worries finally eased.
"May the Gods watch over us and let the weather return to normal," she prayed devoutly.
...
「A few days later」
On a cold morning, the elusive Sivia had appeared at High Cliff Castle, though no one knew when she had arrived.
This stunningly beautiful woman, whose every movement exuded nobility, had come to find the Lord to fulfill her promise.
The Lord had just climbed out of bed, his hair a messy bird’s nest. He yawned and offered a greeting.
"Good day, Lady Sivia."
"Good day, Levi."
After exchanging greetings, they proceeded directly to an empty field as they had long since agreed.
Levi took Digen’s Howl out of his system inventory. In an instant, the cold air was warmed by the Flame Sword’s searing heat. The snow on the ground melted immediately, revealing the dark earth beneath.
In fact, the Lord had been using it to heat the living room for the past few days. It was a hundred times better than a fireplace and had received unanimous praise from all of High Cliff Castle’s leaders.
If the deceased Balrog Flame Demon knew that the Lord was using this Legendary Weapon as a space heater, he would probably be angry enough to claw his way out of his grave.
"Lady Sivia, I’ll leave the rest to you," Levi said politely.
"Mm," Sivia nodded. Magic Power surged around her as she began to chant a Spell the Lord didn’t recognize.
The tone was ancient, filled with an archaic charm. It was clearly a powerful Magic.
As the chant ended, she gave a light wave of her jade-white hand, and a visible stream of pure light shot toward the Red Dragon Soul in the Dragon Crystal, which was staring at them with a resentful expression.
"You were slain by your foe at the Bottom of the Abyss. Your flesh was devoured by Demons, your Keel was consumed by magma and forged into a blade, and your Dragon Soul was imprisoned within a cold Dragon Crystal, forced to serve your former enemy."
"Digen Moses, oh Crimson Wings, your suffering and humiliation will end today."
The fierce flames on the Giant Sword, which had been surging toward the two of them, suddenly froze as if time itself had stopped. The face of the Dragon Soul in the Dragon Crystal twisted, showing deep struggle and hesitation.
An unknown amount of time passed. Just as fine beads of sweat began to form on Sivia’s forehead, a thick black smoke rose from the Dragon Soul and dissipated into dust.
Clarity gradually returned to the Red Dragon Soul’s eyes. A long sigh echoed in the air. "Sigh..."
"Did it work?" The Lord, who had been holding his breath in concentration, finally couldn’t help but ask, his voice tinged with both anticipation and apprehension.
"Mm," Sivia nodded. "The Demon Prince is, after all, one of the Gods who has condensed a Divine Format. Even though his Magic is suppressed in this world, completely removing it still took a lot of effort." Her voice carried a trace of exhaustion, but also the relief of a burden lifted.
"My thanks to you, Your Excellency, for allowing me to break free from the shroud on my mind."
The Red Dragon Soul slowly swam out of the Dragon Crystal and hovered in mid-air. The resentment on its face was gone, replaced by a majestic and solemn dignity, as if the former glory of the "Crimson Wings" had been restored.
"Whoa, it can talk now?" The Lord looked the soul over with curiosity.
"You ant who knows not how to respect your betters! When my great wings covered the earth, your father’s father’s father’s fa—"
"Hmm? What was that?" Levi raised his Holy Sword, which began to pulse with Holy Light.
He had learned back at the White Bone Fortress that Holy Light was effective against this Red Dragon Soul. However, to avoid turning it to ash, the Lord had deliberately kept the light away from the Dragon Crystal, letting it affect only the blade of the sword.
Now, he didn’t mind trying it out directly.
"Don’t!" Perhaps finally realizing its impending doom, the Dragon Soul scrambled back into the Dragon Crystal and shouted, its face full of terror. "It was I... I mean, this humble one, who failed to respect a powerful expert such as yourself, my Lord."
"Heh, interesting," Levi sneered.
To be honest, he wouldn’t have minded keeping the previous Dragon Soul that lacked any real intellect. But now, although the Dragon Soul had returned to normal, its Wisdom had somehow returned with it.
Perhaps the remaining fragment of its Dragon Soul was very weak, but who knew what strange kinds of Magic a Giant Dragon that had lived for so many years might know. The Lord didn’t want any unexpected trouble, so it was better to deal with it sooner rather than later.
"Lady Sivia, is there a way to get rid of this Dragon Soul without damaging the Dragon Crystal?" he asked bluntly.
"I’m useful! Don’t extinguish my Dragon Soul!" The Red Dragon was finally scared. It paced anxiously inside the Dragon Crystal, wanting to stop them but not daring to come out.
"We can talk about how useful you are after I’ve dealt with you." Levi gripped the Flame Sword, preparing to perform a Holy Light Exorcism.
"I know where my lifetime’s hoard of treasure is hidden!"
it roared in terror.
Those words saved its life.
Levi struggled to remain calm, but his heart was pounding. A wave of ecstasy crashed through him.
Everyone knew that Giant Dragons loved to collect treasure, spending their entire lives striving to amass it. Furthermore, the scale of their hoards wasn’t even in the same league as the few copper coins saved by a barefoot farmer from the countryside. It represented a fortune vast enough to rival a nation’s!
And the more powerful the Giant Dragon, the more spectacular its wealth.
This Red Dragon had been able to charge into the Abyss and kill numerous Demon Lords, which meant that at its weakest, it was at least at the Legendary Level of power.
The fortune it must possess was simply unimaginable!
