Pillar of Yita
Chapter 2135 - 49: Deep Within the Forest_3
After passing through the last camp area, Alice finally sensed the departure of the Twilight Guild Ranger through her shadow mark. It felt as if she herself stood at the shadow mark's position, watching the other party investigate from afar and then turn away.
She too turned around, watching the shadowy figures in the forest, who were the other people heading to meet. But she stepped back, left the avenue, and moved in the opposite direction to the others, like a shadow, plunging into the dark forest.
However, Alice didn't notice a certain direction where a dark light flickered.
In the forest, a person wearing a gray Alchemist's robe looked up at the sky, watching the shadow flying back from that direction. He raised his hand to catch it, and a profound glint flashed in his eyes.
He put away the Clockwork Fairy, then wrote a message in the void, pointed with his hand, and sent it out.
...
Fang Hong looked at the Elementalist who was tied tightly and brought over. A piece of flesh on the opponent's face had been burned away, exposing the bloody muscle and connective tissue underneath, a loose eyeball rolling in his head, and the remaining eye looking at him weakly.
Gita glanced once and couldn't bear to look again, involuntarily closing her eyes and lowering her head, but as she lowered her head, her large round glasses slipped down her nose, frightening her into quickly using her hand to hold them up.
Reed couldn't help but shake his head at this scene, reaching out his claw from behind to pull up the hood of her Scholar's Robe, flipping it over and tugging it down to cover her eyes completely, only leaving a small part of her chin exposed.
"Scenes unsuitable for children should be shown less to Gita and Tianlan," the Big Catfolk said in a deep voice.
"Ah, sorry." Fang Hong scratched his hair, not expecting this. Honestly speaking, he was quite startled himself, as these people were a bit too rough, pinning someone right on the scorched floor.
But in a way, it served him right; when he turned others to charcoal, he didn't consider that he might taste the same bitterness. Even though resurrection is possible, the sensation wouldn't be pleasant, potentially leaving a mental shadow.
One reason why Invokers need psychological counseling before returning to their original world.
Fang Hong looked up at this burned kitchen, walls and cabinets charred black, steam billowing around, a thin layer of water accumulated on the floor.
He couldn't help but marvel at how Gita, after studying with Mr. Kalatu, had become increasingly adept at elemental and spellcasting mastery. Instantly borrowing others' spells and turning them into her own, finding opposing attributes in extreme Fire System environments, and counteracting danger with ease.
This maneuver almost touches the edge of higher domains, making her stand out among Magician and Elementalist ranks. Of course, it's leveraged by the advantages of the Natural Historian and Magic Guided Book, but Gita has much greater growth potential compared to others.
She is only fourteen, with two months and fifteen days until fifteen.
Others were discussing the attacker's identity.
"Could this guy be a spy?"
"They must have sided with those monsters."
"Need to interrogate well, he definitely has accomplices."
The Elementalist was almost lifeless, but suddenly regained some strength, weakly gazing around at people, and hoarsely started: "Give me a swift end; you know I won't talk. Also, you can't torture me... it's against the 'Stargate Declaration'."
Everyone was furious: "You still know about the 'Stargate Declaration'!?"
But the Elementalist only weakly sneered, not continuing.
People also felt helpless. No matter whom he served, his behavior didn't seem to violate the 'Stargate Declaration'. Helping the Tree People here, while they can choose to aid outside monsters, boils down to different alliances.
However, Fang Hong withdrew his gaze, looking at this Elementalist, sensing it wasn't that simple. He knew more than others about the deep reasons behind this conflict, aware these people might be tempted by the Crystal. But the origins must be explored first.
Theoretically, guilds in this area have formed an alliance for this Crystal Mine, driven by common interests, not likely to cause in-fighting—
He turned to others and asked: "Does anyone recognize which guild this person belongs to?"
Due to previous combat, people retained basic respect for him, shaking their heads.
Free Summoner? But not necessarily, as Free Summoners generally lack such courage. Fang Hong unconsciously ignored himself. Though no one here could identify this person's origin, it might not mean he's not part of any guild.
Previously observing the trio's actions, they didn't seem like randomly assembled Invokers, even if they were a Free Adventure Group, subtle differences exist between their members and guild Invokers.
Fang Hong looked at him, finally speaking: "Actually, it doesn't matter if you speak or not."
The opponent was slightly stunned.
"Although we can't torture you, we can imprison you—according to the 'Stargate Declaration', we can capture enemy members until the war ends. We will hand you over to the Tree People; you know the fairies have ways to read your superficial thoughts. For those untrained, that's sufficient."
