Chapter 2404 - 2412: The Hard Way

Hearing these words, Xin Xilai felt he might have overreacted a bit and calmly said, "The future belongs to you young people. Grandpa’s old now and won’t interfere in this matter. I’ll just wait to see the results, understand?"

"Grandpa, please rest assured." After hanging up the phone, Xin Shixun yawned as he walked towards the supercomputer.

Xin Shixun tapped a few keys and quickly realized it was Lin who had made a move! Xin Shixun’s mouth slightly curled, and he indifferently said, "Lin? Not impressive at all."

Having said that, Xin Shixun logged into his World Hacker Alliance account.

Ding ding... Instantly, messages were flying everywhere.

"LT, your virus variant doesn’t cut it. Lin wiped it out in five minutes with a dedicated killer."

"LT, show yourself. What exactly is going on?"

...

Xin Shixun yawned and typed a line; "What I did just now was only an appetizer. Now I’m about to get serious."

In the Internet Surveillance Bureau of Huaxia, everyone was cheering.

"Lin is awesome! He made the dedicated killer so fast! It’s incredibly quick. Just five minutes to devise a countermeasure against the variant virus!"

"Hahaha, both killers together took less than nine minutes! Incredible!"

"Mr. Qin, you see now, right? Even if the other side creates ten thousand ransomware variants, they’re no match for Lin!"

Qin Yu shrugged. Only five minutes, what was there to brag about? He had just used 32-bit computations and it took him only half a minute to create the killer.

And Lin? It took him a whole five minutes, and he was using 64-bit computations.

Mr. Qin? When Lin turned to look at Qin Yu, he found Qin Yu was more handsome than him, which annoyed Lin. Seeing Mo Yuqi standing next to Qin Yu, Lin’s gaze heated up.

"Ah! Isn’t that Mr. Mo? I was so absorbed in my work just now that I didn’t notice. I hope Mr. Mo doesn’t mind."

"Lin, merely creating a countermeasure doesn’t eradicate the ransomware from the root, right? What if they create another variant? We can’t keep getting hit like this."

Having been enlightened a while ago, Mo Yuqi had grasped some hacking basics and quickly hit the nail on the head.

With a challenging look, Lin glanced at Qin Yu and said, "Mr. Mo, as long as you fire him and hire me as your cyber consultant, I’ll fully resolve the issue for you."

"Fire him?" Mo Yuqi was taken aback. How could she fire him? Qin Yu was her husband!

Mo Yuqi was about to refuse, but then she noticed a faint smile playing at the corners of Qin Yu’s mouth.

Qin Yu said indifferently, "Mr. Mo, if Lin can fully resolve the cyber threats, what’s wrong with employing him as your cyber consultant?"

Mo Yuqi hesitated, but seeing Qin Yu wink at her, she understood. After all, Qin Yu wasn’t really a cyber consultant, so firing him was no big deal!

"Alright! Mr. Qin, you’re fired. From now on, the position of cyber consultant belongs to Lin." Mo Yuqi smiled faintly, "Lin, you can now solve the ransomware from the root, right?"

"Of course, it would be my honor to serve Mr. Mo." Lin gave Mo Yuqi a bow of noble courtesy.

"Go ahead." Mo Yuqi nodded slightly.

Boosted by the favor of his goddess, Lin was incredibly motivated and openly declared war on the official website of the World Hacker Alliance!

"South Koreans, you dare to run rampant in our grand Huaxia! Hackers of Huaxia, it’s time to sound the counterattack! Follow me—breach South Korea’s portal websites!"

As soon as lin’s declaration was issued, Huaxia’s hackers exploded in action! One after another, they howled and launched attacks on several major South Korean portal websites.

In no time, many South Korean portal websites were brought to a standstill.

Meanwhile, lin’s IP kept moving across these websites, searching for possible opponents. As soon as LT’s IP appeared, lin would lock onto him!

Qin Yu gently shook his head; lin was still too weak. He could have directly found LT’s IP using a mutant virus, but lin could only use this primitive method, waiting like hunting by a tree stump.

Unfortunately, LT didn’t care about the turmoil at the South Korean portal websites at all. When he attacked the Internet Surveillance Bureau of Huaxia, sugar, jin, and Clown Emperor refrained from participating, not wanting to provoke the authority of the god long_7.

However, once Huaxia’s hackers breached the South Korean portal websites, these three no longer had such concerns—it was defense, not provocation!

With one effort, the three of them swiftly kicked out Huaxia’s hackers! Only lin was left fighting alone.

Qin Yu watched the battle with interest. Although lin’s skills were moderate, his fast hands compensated for his lack of technique, rapidly forming lines of source code!

With his extraordinary speed, lin managed to hold his own against the three!

This scene shocked the entire World Hacker Alliance! After all, sugar was ranked fourth in the world! Even the weakest, Clown Emperor, was ranked ninth!

Could lin, fighting three alone, really qualify to enter the top three?

Fortunately, lin was eventually pushed out of the South Korean portal websites by the trio, otherwise, it might have caused a major upheaval in the World Hacker Alliance!

"lin, how is it going? Have you found the source of the ransomware yet?" Mo Yuqi, seeing lin stop his actions, quickly asked.

lin, looking frustrated, said, "No, that coward didn’t make a move! If he had, I would have definitely found him! Unfortunately, unfortunately the god long_7 isn’t here!

If the god long_7 had been willing to help me! Then sugar and the others couldn’t have stopped our Huaxia hackers’ assault! LT would have been forced to come out and defend! Just a bit more, just a bit more!"

Qin Yu smirked, I’m right here, aren’t I? It’s your problem you couldn’t recognize me.

"lin, I’m curious, why did you use such a primitive method to search for LT’s IP?"

"Primitive method? Heh... Mr. Qin, do you have a smarter approach?" lin sneered, these half-baked folks really think too highly of themselves! Daring to direct a god like him!

Qin Yu spoke seriously; "Of course, just leave tracking source code on the likely targets of the opponent’s attacks. When the opponent launches a mutant ransomware, we can track down their IP and destroy the ransomware at its source."

Hearing Qin Yu’s words, lin was even more convinced of his own judgment—Qin Yu was really an outsider!

lin, too lazy to bother with such an outsider, said weakly: "Setting up tracking source code is indeed simple, but, who would use their real IP to deploy a virus? What you’d track would only be a decoy IP!

I’m not too sure how many decoy IPs LT has, but I’m aware that I have over a hundred thousand decoy IPs! Trying to find me through tracking an IP? That’s absolutely laughable!"

Qin Yu shook his head seriously; "I don’t find it humorous at all. The adversary can indeed use decoy IPs, but these IPs are still connected to the main IP,

as long as our tracking source code can grasp this connection, we can smoothly locate the adversary’s main IP."

lin shook his head weakly, turning to Mo Yuqi, "Mr. Mo, please stop this outsider from talking, it’s getting embarrassing the more he speaks!"

"What do you mean?" Mo Yuqi was taken aback, unclear what lin meant.

Chen Dong laughed; "Mr. Mo, it’s not just the main IP that is connected to decoy IPs. To protect the main IP, all the decoy IPs are connected to the one deploying the virus, and it’s impossible for someone to identify the real IP among a hundred thousand decoy IPs! Mr. Qin’s plan is truly amateur."
