Peerless Medical Emperor
Chapter 375: Returning to the Group
The matter on Medical God Island had finally come to a close, but Chen Qingdi’s heart didn’t feel any lighter for it.
He knew he had to return to Mingyue Group as soon as possible, because the Jiangcheng Chamber of Commerce affair still required his personal attention.
However, many things here were still unresolved, so he decided to leave his trusted aide, Qian Laoliu, behind to help the current temporary Island Master, Lone Wolf, handle matters.
"Qian Laoliu, come with me," Chen Qingdi said, looking at his old subordinate, a sense of reluctance in his heart.
"Yes, Chairman," Qian Laoliu answered respectfully.
"However, the matters here are also very important. You’ll stay behind and help Lone Wolf handle things," Chen Qingdi said, finally making his decision after a moment’s hesitation.
"Yes, Chairman." Though Qian Laoliu felt a pang of disappointment, he still obeyed the order.
And so, Chen Qingdi left Medical God Island with a group of security guards and returned to Mingyue Group. The moment he arrived at the company, a group of executives came to resign.
"Chairman, we hope you will approve our departure," one of the executives said.
"Why? You all have been doing well at Mingyue Group. Why do you want to leave?" Chen Qingdi was baffled.
"There isn’t much room for growth here. We want to go out and try our luck elsewhere," another executive said.
"You think Mingyue Group is no good? But our company has always prioritized its employees’ career development," Chen Qingdi said, confused.
"Chairman, that’s not what we mean," an executive said. "We feel that our development at Mingyue Group has hit a bottleneck. We need more opportunities and challenges to improve ourselves."
"Furthermore, we also feel the work pressure at Mingyue Group is too high. We hope to have more time and energy to focus on our families and personal lives," another executive added.
Listening to their words, Chen Qingdi couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion. He understood what these executives were thinking; they wanted better career development and more personal space. But he also knew that Mingyue Group’s high-pressure work culture was one of the key reasons for the company’s rapid growth. He couldn’t let his personal feelings cause him to neglect the company’s development or the employees’ interests.
"Alright, I will seriously consider your requests," Chen Qingdi said. "But I also hope you can understand that Mingyue Group is one big family, and we have always been dedicated to our employees’ professional development and personal growth. We will do our utmost to provide everyone with a better working environment and more opportunities for advancement."
"We will consider it seriously," the executives said in unison.
Over the next few days, Chen Qingdi mulled over this problem constantly. He understood that the departure of these executives would have a certain impact on the company, but he also couldn’t force them to stay. He needed to find a balance—a way to retain talent while also maintaining the company’s growth and the interests of its employees.
Finally, Chen Qingdi decided to take some measures to improve the company’s work environment and employee benefits. He rolled out a series of new policies, including reducing work hours and increasing opportunities for employee training and promotion. He also personally went to speak with the executives who were preparing to resign, hoping to persuade them to stay.
"Chairman, we are truly grateful for your concern and for trying to keep us," one executive said. "But we honestly feel there are no good development opportunities left for us at Mingyue Group."
"I understand how you feel," Chen Qingdi said. "But I hope you will reconsider. Mingyue Group is a company with great potential, and we are constantly striving to improve. I believe that as long as we work together, Mingyue Group’s future will be even brighter."
However, the executives ultimately chose to leave anyway. They took their dreams and aspirations and departed from Mingyue Group, a place that had once made them feel stifled. Although Chen Qingdi felt a sense of loss and regret, he also understood that this was the harsh reality of the business world.
The atmosphere in the Mingyue Group’s executive conference room was exceptionally heavy. The executives, who on any other day were sharply dressed and brimming with confidence, now all appeared somewhat dejected. One by one, they handed their resignation letters to Chen Qingdi, while the chairman simply sat there, watching with a cool detachment.
"Chairman Chen, this is my resignation letter," one executive said, taking a deep breath as he handed it over.
Chen Qingdi took the letter, gave it a cursory glance, and placed it on the table. He showed neither surprise nor any inclination to stop them, merely saying flatly, "Since you’ve all made up your minds, then go."
"Chairman Chen, we are truly grateful for your years of mentorship and trust," another executive said, his voice choked with emotion. "But we honestly feel that our growth at Mingyue Group has reached its limit. We need to find other platforms to realize our potential."
"I understand your thinking," Chen Qingdi nodded. "However, I want you to understand that Mingyue Group’s secrets are our collective asset. After you leave, you are absolutely forbidden from revealing any of the group’s secrets to any commercial rival. This is our agreement, and it is my final demand of you."
"Chairman Chen, we understand what you mean," one executive quickly declared. "We guarantee that we will not leak any confidential information, nor will we engage in any improper conduct toward any competitors."
"Good. I trust you," Chen Qingdi said, standing up. "But if you break this agreement, I will not hesitate to take action. Each of you will receive five hundred thousand US Dollars as severance pay. This is my final gesture of goodwill. I hope your future paths are smooth sailing."
The executives all expressed their thanks before leaving the conference room one after another. Chen Qingdi watched their retreating backs, his heart filled with a myriad of emotions. These executives were all capable leaders he had personally cultivated, and their departure would undoubtedly have an impact on Mingyue Group. But he also understood that this was the law of the business world: some people leave, and others join.
"Chairman Chen, we are truly grateful for your trust and support," one executive said, suddenly turning back before leaving the conference room. "We will cherish this opportunity, and we will work even harder to repay the trust and mentorship you’ve shown us."
"I have faith in you," Chen Qingdi said with a faint smile. "No matter where you go, Mingyue Group will always be your home. If you ever need anything from me in the future, you can tell me anytime."
The executives all nodded in thanks, then turned and left the conference room. They knew this departure was not an end, but a new beginning.
