Chapter 1627: 1624: Gratitude

Chapter 1627: Chapter 1624: Gratitude

Now, indeed, someone was with her to watch the fireworks. An old friend, though far away, yet the friendship of the past could still be felt. Her mood instantly improved as she watched the distant fireworks, her face full of smiles.

As the fireworks faded away, Chu Ziluo looked at the fireflies filling the trees. After silently thanking that person, she climbed down the ladder and slowly left.

Shortly after she left, Li Chongjin finally withdrew his gaze and descended from the attic.

Inside the room.

Ye Muyu lay on the bed, personally inspecting the wounds on Chu Heng’s body. After confirming they were scabbed and not torn, she contentedly patted the side of the bed: “Seeing that you didn’t tear your wound, tonight you get the reward of sleeping over here!”

She lay lazily in the quilt, her head buried in the pillow, the fluffy pillow causing her to sink right in, revealing only half her head.

Chu Heng changed into an undershirt, lifted the quilt, and lay on his side.

His hand rested on her back, transmitting a blazing warmth.

Ye Muyu suddenly let out a faint moan, her cheeks flushed. Abruptly, she reached out to grab those large hands on her back, lifted her head to look at him with a reddened face, eyes glistening, and her earlobes were red as blood.

“What are you doing?”

Despite being stopped, Chu Heng wasn’t annoyed. He smiled gently, lying down beside her, a bit closer, his fingers tracing circles on her slender waist and back; occasionally touching her waist dimple, Ye Muyu’s body would shudder slightly, the instinctive reactions only intensifying the urge.

“Ah Yu, it’s been so long…” His words were vague, requiring just a glance to understand.

Yet, he looked at people with those beautiful, sword-like eyebrows, eyes deep and enigmatic, making it harder to fathom his thoughts the darker they got.

Ye Muyu quivered slightly, half waking from her drowsiness. Worried he might act up, she was all tense, her head a bit dazed. Seeing his gaze, she knew she couldn’t escape.

Sure enough, darkness fell before her eyes, and their lips met.

He was gentle, yet assertive, leading her in a waltz.

Ye Muyu’s eyelids drooped slightly, her body slackened, her face tinged with a soft pink. The occasional light moans, like a melodious tune, enhanced the beautiful atmosphere.

Yet, her clouded senses regained some clarity when she felt those large hands shift place.

In her eyes, there was a mix of shyness and astonishment.

After it all settled, Ye Muyu’s skin bore a rosy hue, with beads of sweat. She lay in the quilt, already fast asleep.

This was Ye Muyu’s singular sensation.

She opened her eyes, not yet fully awake from slumber, her skin rosy white under the stimulation of the cool air, shivering involuntarily, finally waking.

She first found her clothes and put them on, about to put on her shoes.

From behind, a pair of arms encircled her waist confidently.

“Awake?” Chu Heng’s voice was still a bit hoarse, characteristic of just waking up.
