Chapter 830: 830:Mage Academy

After that, Ethan decided to come to the main matters at hand.

"You should already know that we are joining the Eldorian Empire."

Mareti’s expression changed a bit on hearing this. Ethan noticed that subtle change and smiled.

"We might get a chance to contact the Mage Tower."

"That’s good then," he muttered faintly with an indistinguishable expression, but Ethan could feel the coldness beneath it.

"So what are your plans now?"

Mareti turned around and looked at the corpse for a moment. His eyes lingered on it as he thought heavily about what to do. After a while, he sighed and shook his head.

"Not now."

"It isn’t the time yet. Also, I don’t know if he is dead or alive. We need to make sure to visit there first before I can decide what to do. Moreover, making an enemy out of the Mage Tower for no reason didn’t bode well with me."

Ethan didn’t know the strength and structure of the Mage Tower. Even if he knew, he wouldn’t put them in his eye without a proper reason.

Could the Mage Tower be stronger than the enemies he had fought till now?

But on second thought, thinking like this had made him arrogant.

’Damn, Ethan, calm down!’

’You haven’t become strong enough to do as you wish.’

’I need to accumulate more. I also haven’t had children.’

Thinking about the long time since he had been a father, Ethan wondered if he should proceed with a few more. But now, with no urgent matters, he couldn’t rush to show everyone.

At present, Regalina was the only candidate in sight.

Ethan looked at Mareti and was about to leave when Mareti suddenly spoke.

"My Lord, I have a suggestion."

"Yes!"

"I have so many students. I want to establish a mage organization."

Ethan raised his brows on hearing this. They already had a Mage Legion at work.Establishing a Mage Tower just didn’t point towards the required reason.

"Its not that I haven’t thought about it, but what should we do with it?"

"The association of Mages would give them a common place to gather and share interest. I can’t teach the children alone all the time, so I need people."

"The graduates may serve Blanks in various ways."

Ethan rubbed his chin as he thought about it. Mareti had gathered quite a few students, and having them trained under a proper organization could help Blanks in the future. It would also give the young mages a place where they could learn and exchange their knowledge.

"Okay, you can proceed as you wish. I will designate a place for construction, and you will be acting as Headmaster of Mage Academy."

"Yes, My Lord!" Mareti cheered up immediately, and the gloom on his face disappeared.

Ethan gave a nod and disappeared from the place, leaving Mareti behind with the corpses and the pile of strange magical equipment.

After Ethan left, Mareti remained inside the laboratory and looked around at the strange equipment that had been brought from the Devine Family’s laboratories.

A faint smile appeared on his face as he walked toward the nearest table. He picked up one of the magical disks and turned it around in his hand while carefully examining its structure.

"Interesting..."

He placed it back and picked up another object. Unlike the previous one, this device had several small crystals attached to its surface. Mareti’s eyes narrowed as he inspected the magical flow inside it.

There were many things here that he didn’t understand yet, but that only made him more interested.

He glanced toward the corpses again before shaking his head and walking toward the door.

"First, I need to find the students."

Mareti left the laboratory and immediately contacted one of his assistants. It didn’t take long before several young mages arrived at the location. They looked around with curiosity when they saw the strange equipment filling the room.

All these were talented saplings whom he had selected.

"What happened here?"

"Where did all these things come from?"

Mareti raised his hand and stopped their questions.

"Don’t touch anything yet."

The young mages quickly became serious and stepped back.

Mareti looked at them one by one before speaking.

"I have something to tell you."

The students gathered around him. Some were still glancing toward the strange equipment with curiosity.

"I have spoken with Lord Ethan. From now on, we are going to establish a Mage Academy in Blanks."

The room became quiet for a moment.

"A Mage Academy?"

"Really?"

Mareti nodded.

"Yes. You will be the first students of the academy, and later we will gather more talented mages from different places."

One of the students raised his hand hesitantly.

"Teacher, are we really going to have our own academy?"

"Yes."

Mareti’s expression became serious as he looked at them.

"But don’t think this means you can relax. The academy isn’t going to be a place where you simply study magic and spend your days doing nothing."

The students straightened their backs.

"You will study magic, conduct research and learn how to use your abilities properly. Some of you may become researchers, while others may join the Mage Legion or serve Blanks in different ways."

Mareti turned toward the equipment behind him.

"And we have plenty of things to study."

The students followed his gaze and their eyes widened.

"Teacher, what are those?"

"Things recovered from the Devine Family."

The moment they heard the name, their expressions changed.

"The Devine Family?"

Mareti nodded.

"Yes. Their laboratories contained many things. Some of them are dangerous, so nobody is allowed to touch anything without my permission."

He pointed toward the magical disks.

"We will first identify everything we have recovered. Then we will separate the useful things from the dangerous ones."

Several students exchanged excited glances.

Mareti noticed their expressions and sighed.

"Don’t get too excited. Some of these things may still be dangerous even if they look harmless."

"Yes, Teacher."

Mareti looked at the group for a moment before his expression softened slightly.

"This is only the beginning."

He looked toward the equipment again.

"If we want to establish a proper Mage Academy, we need teachers, researchers and students. We also need books, laboratories and a place where mages can freely exchange knowledge."

One of the students asked, "Then when will construction begin?"

Mareti smiled faintly.

"Immediately."

He turned around and walked toward the exit.

"Come with me. We have a lot of work to do."

The students quickly followed him.
