Chapter 630:The Battle
Chapter 630: 630:The Battle
Outside the command area, thousands of soldiers were finally enjoying a brief moment of rest after spending days continuously marching, fighting, standing guard, and surviving one brutal battle after another, and although the war had not ended, everyone cherished these rare moments because nobody knew when they would get another chance to rest peacefully again.
Some soldiers sat around campfires while cleaning blood from their weapons and discussing recent battles.
Others leaned against supply crates while quietly eating rations.
Several exhausted warriors simply lay on the ground while staring at the sky above.
Meanwhile, numerous guards continued patrolling around the camp because even during rest, nobody could completely lower their guard in the middle of a war.
The atmosphere was relatively calm. For once, there were no screams.
No battlefield.
No enemy attacks.
Just a few precious moments of peace.
Then suddenly...
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted from the center of the military camp and shattered the calm atmosphere completely.
The earth trembled violently.
Nearby tents shook.Dust rose into the air.Several soldiers nearly lost their footing and fell to the ground.
Everyone immediately jumped to their feet.
"What the hell was that?!"
"Enemy attack?!"
"Sound the alarm!"
"Grab your weapons!"
"The camp is under attack!"
Panic instantly spread throughout the camp.
Soldiers hurriedly grabbed swords, shields, spears, and bows. Some rushed toward their assigned formations while others immediately sprinted toward the source of the explosion.
Officers began shouting orders.
"Move!"
"Protect the command area!"
"Get the commanders!"
"Form defensive lines!"
"The fuck is happening over there?!"
Within moments, large groups of soldiers began rushing toward the command tents.
However, before they could get close enough to understand what was happening, an overwhelming pressure suddenly descended upon the area.
BOOOOOOM!
The atmosphere itself seemed to become heavier. The charging soldiers instantly froze. Many of them were forced directly onto one knee.
Several weaker soldiers collapsed completely onto the ground.
Others desperately struggled just to remain standing.
Their legs trembled violently.Cold sweat covered their faces.
Weapons slipped from their hands.
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
Swords and spears crashed onto the ground one after another.
The pressure was simply too terrifying.
It felt as though a giant mountain had suddenly landed on everyone’s shoulders.
"What... what is this..."
"A Saint?"
"No..."
"This pressure is insane..."
"I can’t even breathe properly..."
Even veteran warriors who had experienced countless battles felt genuine fear crawling into their hearts.
Then another explosion erupted.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The main command tent suddenly exploded apart from the inside.
The entire structure was torn apart.
Wooden pillars shattered.Canvas ripped into pieces.Furniture flew through the air.
Dust and debris exploded outward in every direction.
The soldiers instinctively shielded their faces.
Then they saw a figure shoot upward into the sky.
Everyone raised their heads.
It was Ethan. His entire body radiated terrifying power. In one hand he held Marquise Shatad. In the other was Marquise Ivan.
The next moment...
BOOOOOOM!
Both men were hurled downward like cannonballs.
They slammed heavily into the ground and created enormous craters upon impact.
The entire area shook violently once more.
Several soldiers stared with open mouths.
"What the fuck..."
"Is that Lord Ethan?"
"Has he gone mad?"
Before anyone could recover from the shock, another figure burst through the debris.
Marquise Marco.
His aura erupted violently as he rushed forward.
However...
The moment he appeared...
Ethan disappeared.
SWOOOOOSH!
The soldiers only saw a blur.
Nothing more.
Then...
BAAAAAAAAAANG!
A horrifying collision erupted in the sky.
The resulting shockwave spread outward and flattened several nearby tents instantly.
Dust clouds exploded into the air.
Wood fragments scattered everywhere.
The soldiers could barely follow what was happening anymore.
All they could see were flashes.
Afterimages.
Blurred figures appearing and disappearing throughout the battlefield.
BOOOOM!
BAAAANG!
BOOOOOOM!
Each collision sent visible shockwaves across the camp.Meanwhile, Ethan had already grabbed Shatad once again.
Without the slightest hesitation, he smashed him directly into the ground.
CRAAAAASH!
The earth split apart beneath the impact.Long cracks spread throughout the camp.
Shatad screamed in pain but before he could recover Ethan’s fist descended.
BANG!
The punch landed directly on his face.
Blood sprayed through the air.
Several nearby nobles instinctively stepped backward.Ethan grabbed Shatad by the collar and pulled him upward.
His expression remained colder than ever.
The anger inside him was obvious.
"Before you take on someone, at least fucking investigate whether the person you’re trying to take on is at your level."
His voice echoed across the camp.
Shatad coughed blood.
His face had already become swollen beyond recognition.
Yet Ethan showed no intention of stopping. He raised his fist once more.
Everyone watching felt their hearts tighten.
Because if that punch landed again, nobody knew what would happen next.
Just as Ethan prepared to strike...
A stern voice suddenly echoed throughout the entire area.
"It’s enough!"
The powerful voice immediately silenced everything.
The pressure in the surroundings changed.
The atmosphere froze.
Ethan paused. His fist stopped only inches away from Shatad’s face.
He slowly turned around.
Several powerful figures were approaching from a distance.
At the front stood Crown Prince Haster.
Beside him were Duke Osantra, Regalina, and several high-ranking nobles and military officers.
Their expressions were serious.
Especially after seeing the destroyed command area.
Haster’s eyes swept across the shattered camp before finally landing on Ethan.
His expression remained calm.
Yet everyone could feel the authority contained within his gaze.
"What is the meaning of this, Marquise Ethan?"
His voice was neither loud nor angry.
Yet nobody dared ignore it.
The entire camp became silent.
Thousands of eyes immediately turned toward Ethan.
For several long moments, neither side spoke.
Then Haster’s gaze sharpened slightly.
"I will give you a moment to explain."
The command sounded cold.
Direct.
Absolute.
Ethan slowly released Shatad and allowed him to collapse onto the ground like a broken sack.
"Very well, Your Highness."
"Then allow me to explain the story."
His voice remained calm.
Much calmer than before.
Then he waved his hand.
The four captured men were immediately dragged forward by the knights.
Without hesitation, Ethan grabbed them and threw them directly before Haster.
BANG!
The prisoners landed heavily at the Crown Prince’s feet.
Their faces were completely pale.
Their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
The moment they saw Haster standing before them personally, whatever courage remained inside them completely disappeared.
"Tell him."
Ethan’s cold voice echoed across the camp. The four men immediately began confessing.
One after another.
Without holding anything back.
As the confession continued, the expressions of the surrounding nobles gradually changed.Meanwhile, Shatad’s face became uglier and uglier.
His eyes widened.
His breathing became heavier.
Cold sweat appeared across his forehead.
Finally, he could no longer remain silent.
"It’s not me!"
His voice sounded almost hysterical.
He desperately tried to stand.
"Lie!"
"This is an absolute lie!"
"Kiyaaah!"
His pig-like howl echoed throughout the camp while everyone present looked at him with increasingly strange expressions.
