Chapter 629: Forcing His Way
Chapter 629: 629: Forcing His Way
Inside the luxurious command tent, the atmosphere immediately changed the moment Ethan stepped inside alongside Randall, Noel, Maverick, and several members of the Order of Eternal Blade.
The four captured men were dragged behind them like dead dogs while heavy chains tightly bound their bodies, and their faces were pale because they already knew their situation was far from good.
The moment everyone inside the tent saw them being dragged in, the noise died down almost instantly.
The tent fell silent.
Marquise Ivan and Marquise Marco frowned slightly while looking at the unexpected visitors, and their eyes briefly moved toward the prisoners lying on the ground.
Meanwhile, Marquise Shatad narrowed his eyes.
The relaxed expression he had a moment ago disappeared completely.
Ethan slowly walked forward before stopping several steps away from the table.
His face remained calm.At least outwardly.
Only the people who knew him well could tell that he was already extremely angry.
The four prisoners were roughly thrown onto the ground.
BANG!
The impact caused several cups and bottles on the table to shake violently.
One of the prisoners immediately cried out while crawling forward desperately.
"My Lord! Please spare me!"
Another quickly pointed toward Shatad with trembling fingers.
"It was him!"
"It was Marquise Shatad who ordered us!"
The atmosphere inside the tent instantly became awkward.
Several nobles exchanged glances.Others quietly observed the situation while remaining silent.
Ethan slowly folded his arms across his chest.
Then he looked directly toward Shatad.
"Marquise Shatad."
"I believe we need to discuss a certain matter."
Shatad simply stared at him while holding his wine glass loosely in one hand.He showed no sign of panic.
Ethan continued calmly.
"These men have confessed that they were spreading false rumors among the civilians."
"They were damaging military morale and they were creating hostility toward fellow nobles of the Empire."
"They were also using my name to spread all kinds of nonsense throughout the occupied territories."
Ethan paused briefly.
Then his eyes narrowed slightly.
"And according to their confession, all of this happened under your orders."
The tent became completely silent.
Several nobles nearby quietly observed the situation.
However, Shatad did not panic at all.
Instead, he casually took another sip of wine.
Then he shrugged his shoulders.
"So?"
Ethan blinked once.
Shatad slowly placed his cup down upon the table.
"What proof do you have that they are my men?"
His tone remained completely unconcerned.
He casually pointed toward the prisoners lying on the ground.
"What if they are your men?"
"What if you bribed them to say all this?"
The prisoners immediately froze.
Even Ivan raised an eyebrow slightly after hearing that.
Shatad continued calmly.
"After all, words are cheap."
He leaned back comfortably in his chair.
"Anyone can make accusations."
"So where is your proof?"
The prisoners immediately started shouting.
"No!"
"We are telling the truth!"
"It was really him!"
"He gave us the orders!"
Shatad simply ignored them as if they did not exist.
As if they were nothing more than insects making noise.
Ethan quietly stared at him.For several long moments, nobody spoke.
The atmosphere gradually became heavier.
Then Ethan slowly sighed. He raised one hand and pressed it against his face.
A deep breath escaped from his lips. His shoulders slowly rose and fell.
Randall immediately noticed it.
Noel noticed it as well.
The two exchanged glances.
They knew this reaction very well.
Whenever Ethan reached this stage, it usually meant he was trying very hard not to do something stupid.
Or violent.
Or both.
Across from him, Shatad smirked slightly.
"What?"
"Did you think dragging four random idiots here would prove anything?"
His tone carried obvious mockery.
"I expected something more impressive from the famous Marquise Ethan Blanks."
The smile on his face widened slightly.
Several nobles frowned after hearing that, but nobody stepped in.
Ethan remained silent.
He continued rubbing his forehead slowly while looking completely exhausted.
The entire tent became quiet.
The prisoners nervously looked back and forth between the two men.
Nobody knew what Ethan was thinking.
Then...
BOOOOOOM!
A terrifying explosion suddenly erupted outside. The sound was so loud that it seemed to shake the heavens themselves.
Ethan slowly turned his head and his gaze landed directly upon Marquise Shatad, and the moment their eyes met, several people inside the tent immediately felt a chill run down their backs because the calmness that usually remained in Ethan’s eyes had completely disappeared.
In its place was an icy cold look that made the atmosphere inside the tent become noticeably heavier.
Shatad instinctively frowned after noticing that gaze.
"What are you looking at me for?" he asked coldly while narrowing his eyes.
Ethan did not answer.
He simply stood there while staring at him for several long moments, and the silence that followed somehow felt even more uncomfortable than a direct confrontation.
Then suddenly...
SWOOOSH!
The ground beneath Ethan’s feet cracked apart instantly as his figure disappeared from where he stood.
"What the fuck?!"
Shatad’s expression changed dramatically.
BANG!
Before he could even react, Ethan’s fist smashed directly into his face with terrifying force, and the impact was so violent that Shatad was sent flying across the tent like a cannonball while several tables exploded into pieces and expensive wine bottles shattered all over the floor.
Wood fragments scattered everywhere.
CRAAASH!
Shatad’s body slammed heavily into one of the support pillars holding up the tent, and the entire structure shook violently while blood immediately burst from his mouth.
Everyone froze.
Nobody expected Ethan to attack so suddenly.
For a brief moment, the entire tent fell into stunned silence.
"You bastard!"
Shatad roared furiously while struggling back to his feet, and a powerful aura erupted from his body as waves of energy spread through the surroundings causing the air itself to tremble.
However, before he could properly regain his footing or launch a counterattack, Ethan had already appeared in front of him once again.
SWISH!
A large hand instantly wrapped around Shatad’s throat.
The next moment...
BOOOOOOM!
Ethan slammed him directly into the ground with overwhelming force. The floor cracked apart beneath the impact.
Dust exploded outward.
The entire tent trembled violently.
Long cracks spread across the floor while Shatad’s eyes widened from the pain and blood slowly flowed from the corner of his mouth.
"Ethan!"
Marquise Ivan immediately reacted as a powerful aura erupted from his body and he rushed forward at full speed.
At the same time, Marquise Marco also moved.
"Stop!"
"This is a military camp!"
The two nobles attempted to separate them before the situation completely spiraled out of control.
However the moment they arrived nearby, they realized something horrifying.
Ethan’s strength was simply too overwhelming.
It was too brutal.
Too oppressive.
His aura surged throughout the tent like a violent storm while the pressure alone forced several nearby knights to retreat instinctively.
Ivan stretched out his hand and attempted to stop Ethan.
BANG!
The collision immediately created a powerful shockwave that swept across the tent and sent loose objects flying everywhere.
Ivan’s expression changed instantly.
His body slid backward several meters across the ground before he finally managed to stabilize himself.
Marco’s situation was no better. He stepped forward and attempted to restrain Ethan from the side.
Yet the moment his hand touched Ethan’s arm, a terrifying force erupted outward.
BOOOOM!
Marco was forced backward as well and nearly lost his footing.
The two nobles looked at Ethan with genuine shock. They had always known Ethan was strong.
Everyone knew that.
But nobody had expected this level of strength.
Meanwhile, Ethan continued dragging Shatad across the broken floor as if he weighed nothing at all.
His expression remained cold.
Shatad continuously tried to resist.
He tried gathering his strength and tried pushing Ethan away.
BANG!
Another punch landed directly into his stomach.
Shatad’s body bent forward violently.
Blood sprayed from his mouth.
Several nobles nearby stepped backward instinctively.
Nobody wanted to get involved anymore.
The atmosphere inside the tent had completely spiraled out of control.
Finally, Ethan grabbed Shatad by the collar and lifted him into the air while staring directly into his eyes.
"You spread rumors about me."
"You used civilians."
"You damaged military morale."
His voice remained steady and calm throughout.
Yet that calmness somehow felt far more frightening than shouting.
Shatad coughed blood and glared at him hatefully.
"Ethan... you fucking..."
Before he could finish speaking...
BANG!
Another punch smashed directly into his face and sent blood spraying through the air while the sound echoed throughout the entire tent.
