Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill

Chapter 429:Arcane Burst Cannon

Chapter 429:Arcane Burst Cannon

Inside Blank territory, far away from the festive streets and administrative halls, Ethan stood within a vast testing ground constructed on the outskirts of the estate.

Unlike the peaceful gardens of the manor, this place looked closer to a military research zone. Thick stone walls surrounded the area, layered with multiple defensive formations glowing faintly under the afternoon light. Large rune pillars stood at equal distances, forming a containment barrier meant to absorb destructive backlash.

Today was not an ordinary day.

Today they were testing the Arcane Burst Cannon.

Several children and young students stood behind the safety line, their eyes shining with excitement. Some whispered among themselves while others leaned forward eagerly, unable to hide their anticipation.

Among all of them, the most excited was Otlo.

He was practically jumping in place like a child who had just received his favorite toy.

“Is it going to fire now?”

“Master Mareti said it can destroy hills!”

“I want to see it!”

Otlo clenched his fists and bounced repeatedly. His excitement was so intense that even nearby guards stepped slightly away from him.

At the raised platform ahead stood Mareti.

His appearance had changed greatly since occupying Damor’s body. The demonic horns had been cut and reshaped, and most of the monstrous traits were refined to appear almost human. Only his black hair and deep crimson eyes still carried an unsettling presence.

Every time Ethan looked at him, an irrational irritation rose in his chest.

Those sharp features and confident posture made him look annoyingly handsome.

Ethan folded his arms and sighed inwardly.

‘Haa… I am having tough competition.’

While Ethan was lost in thought, Mareti stepped forward proudly and raised his hand toward the massive structure behind him.

The Arcane Burst Cannon rested upon reinforced platforms. Layers of engraved runes covered its metallic body, and mana conduits connected to crystal chambers that glowed faint blue.

Mareti spread his arms dramatically.

“Kids… watch this.”

He turned slightly with a confident grin.

“See what your Master is capable of.”

“See how strong the thing I built is.”

The students immediately erupted.

“Master Mareti is amazing!”

“So cool!”

“That’s incredible!”

Several female students clasped their hands excitedly.

“Master looks so handsome today!”

“I knew joining this academy was the right choice!”

Mareti puffed his chest proudly hearing the praise.

Ethan’s eyelid twitched slightly.

“…This bastard,” he muttered under his breath.

“Is he teaching them or seducing them?”

Mareti ignored everything and placed his hand over the activation rune.

Mana surged instantly.

The cannon hummed deeply as energy gathered inside its core. The surrounding air distorted, and loose dust began lifting from the ground as pressure built rapidly.

The rune pillars around the field brightened in response.

“Charging complete,” Mareti announced calmly.

Then he pointed forward.

“Fire.”

SWOOOOOSH!

A blinding beam of condensed light erupted from the cannon.

The ray tore across the sky like a falling star and struck the base of a distant hill.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The world shook violently.

For a moment, silence vanished completely as a catastrophic explosion erupted outward. The ground split apart and stone fragments blasted into the sky. A massive shockwave rolled across the testing field, slamming against the protective barriers.

A towering cloud rose upward.

Dust, fire, and shattered earth spiraled into the air forming a rising column that slowly expanded into a mushroom-shaped cloud.

It looked terrifyingly similar to a miniature nuclear blast.

Ethan’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

“What the actual hell?” he shouted, staring at the sky.

The ground beneath his feet trembled again as debris rained down in the distance.

He swallowed hard and turned toward Otlo.

“Otlo… isn’t that a bit too muc… huh?”

His words stopped.

Otlo stood completely frozen with shining eyes before suddenly collapsing backward.

Ethan rushed forward and grabbed him.

“FUCK! Did he die or what?”

Chaos immediately broke out.

Several blacksmiths nearby had also fainted from overwhelming excitement. Some apprentices screamed while healers hurried forward to check pulses.

“Carry them carefully!”

“They just passed out!”

“Too much stimulation!”

After several minutes, the order finally returned.

Ethan walked toward Mareti, still staring at the distant destroyed hill.

“…Isn’t this a bit too much?”

Mareti scratched his head casually.

“Yeah. I overcharged it. That one shot needed one hundred C-rank mana crystals. The expenditure is too huge.”

Ethan froze.

“ONE HUNDRED C-rank mana crystals?”

He nearly clutched his chest.

That amount alone could push a beginner toward peak intermediate level and theoretically even advanced stage cultivation.

Mareti nodded calmly.

“Yes. Even if we tone it down, the cost will still be heavy on your resources.”

Ethan frowned deeply.

Money was not his biggest issue, but exchanging gold for large quantities of mana crystals remained difficult.

If only he possessed a rich mana vein, everything would become easier.

Seeing his expression, Mareti smirked.

“Don’t worry. I also prepared alternative means.”

Ethan immediately looked up.

“For real?”

“Of course. Who do you think I am?” Mareti said proudly while slamming his chest.

“I will create rune arrays that absorb surrounding mana. Mages can also pour their mana during free time. The cannon will store energy and fire without consuming massive crystals.”

Ethan’s expression finally relaxed.

“Good… that’s good.”

He nodded with genuine satisfaction while looking again at the smoking crater far away.

Even so, one thought quietly formed in his mind.

If this weapon was deployed on a battlefield…

Even demon armies would hesitate.

The testing ground slowly returned to calm after the chaos caused by the Arcane Burst Cannon. Smoke still lingered faintly in the distant sky, and the shattered hill remained a silent reminder of the weapon’s terrifying power.

Ethan stood quietly for a moment while watching workers repair the damaged rune pillars. Not far away, Mareti argued loudly with a group of overly excited students who kept asking when they could fire the cannon again. Their voices echoed across the field, full of enthusiasm and reckless curiosity.

Shaking his head helplessly, Ethan turned away.

There was another matter he had been postponing.

A far more important one.

He walked toward the inner training courtyard located behind the research grounds. Unlike the noisy testing area, this place was calm and disciplined. Smooth stone flooring stretched across the open space, and countless faint sword marks carved into the ground showed years of relentless practice.

At the center stood Ray.
