Pampering Discarded Heroines Triggers My 10,000x Rebate System
Chapter 72: Ancient Alchemy Crucible
The SUV rolled quietly down the ramp into the underground garage of The Grand Pavilion Hotel.
The steel shutter rolled down behind them, muffling the storm outside to a distant rumble. Attendants in black uniforms stepped forward and bowed respectfully as Evren cut the engine and stepped out.
Amber helped Zephyra out of the backseat. The former assassin stood on her own feet, though her legs were stiff and her clothes were still damp from District Nine. Evren’s charcoal suit jacket remained draped around her shoulders, keeping the cold air away from her chest.
"Take her straight up," Evren said to Amber in a low voice. "I’ll handle the garage team."
Amber nodded, gently supporting Zephyra’s uninjured side as they walked toward the private elevator. The elevator doors slid shut with a soft chime, carrying them up to the eightieth-floor Presidential Penthouse.
Few minutes later, Evren entered the suite.
The living room was bathed in warm, amber light. The floor vents blew soft heat, warming the room and pushing away the chill of the storm. In the master bedroom, Amber had prepared fresh towels, comfortable clothes, and a pot of hot herbal tea.
Zephyra sat on the edge of the bed. Amber knelt beside her, carefully cleaning the shallow cut along her temple with an antiseptic pad.
Her dark violet eyes followed Evren as he walked into the room. Her bruised wrists rested in her lap, free of the mana-suppression ties, but the dull gray tint in her skin remained.
"Drink the tea, Z," Evren said, pulling a chair closer. "We have what we need."
Zephyra looked at the steaming cup on the nightstand, then up at Evren. Her voice was quiet, almost a whisper. "Evren... you really went all the way to District Nine for this."
"I told you," Evren replied with a calm smile. "Nobody touches what’s mine. Drink up and rest for a minute. I’m going to prepare the medicine."
He gave Amber a reassuring nod, then stepped out into the adjoining private study and closed the double doors.
Evren sat down behind the mahogany desk and waved his hand over his Spatial Storage Ring. Three distinct pulses of light flashed across the polished wood surface.
First was the Shadow-Mist Core, humming with dark mist.
Second was the Astral Sun-Fire Coral, glowing with a warm, golden light that made the air in the room feel dry.
Third was the new Frost-Crystal Moon-Essence, shining with a faint blue light and leaking wisps of frost.
All three Stage 2 Catalysts were finally gathered.
Evren focused his mind and called up the System interface to initiate the synthesis.
A dark blue holographic window materialized in the air:
[STAGE 2 VEIN-RESTORATION MEDICINE — SYNTHESIS MODULE INITIALIZED!]
[CHECKING REAGENTS...]
[CATALYST #1: ASTRAL SHADOW-MIST CORE — VERIFIED!]
[CATALYST #2: ASTRAL SUN-FIRE CORAL — VERIFIED!]
[CATALYST #3: FROST-CRYSTAL MOON-ESSENCE — VERIFIED!]
[WARNING: CRITICAL VOLATILE POLARITY DETECTED!]
[ASTRAL SUN-FIRE CORE (SOLAR-YANG) AND FROST-CRYSTAL MOON-ESSENCE (LUNAR-YIN) EXHIBIT EXTREME ATTRIBUTE CONFLICT!]
[STANDARD ALCHEMICAL SYNTHESIS FAILURE RISK: 45% (RISK OF MANA REJECTION OR PERMANENT VEIN DAMAGE)!]
[SYNTHESIS ADVISORY: AN ADVANCED HIGH-RANK ALCHEMICAL VESSEL IS REQUIRED TO BALANCE AND HARMONIZE THE REAGENTS!]
Evren stared at the floating red text, his brow furrowing.
"Forty-five percent failure rate..." Evren muttered under his breath. "Then why tell me to gather them in the first place?"
He leaned back against the leather chair.
A forty-five percent risk was completely out of the question. Zephyra’s mana channels were already severely crippled; feeding her an unstable or impure concoction could destroy what little nerve structure she had left.
With conflicting elements like solar fire and lunar frost, standard alchemical blending wouldn’t cut it. He would likely have to find a specialized high-rank laboratory that had the right containment apparatus to handle volatile reagents safely.
Looking at the floating interface, his gaze drifted to his inventory ledger.
There was still an unused Fortune Wheel Spin reward sitting in his system queue, earned from Zephyra reaching the 50% Devotion Milestone.
"Let’s see what the system rolls," Evren muttered.
[CONFIRMING FORTUNE WHEEL SPIN...]
[INITIALIZING SOVEREIGN REWARD POOL!]
A massive, golden holographic wheel materialized before him, its outer rim spinning with intricate ancient runes. The wheel spun with a low hum, blurring into a circle of golden light.
Ten seconds passed.
The wheel slowed down, clicking rhythmically as its golden needle passed over legendary armaments, territory blueprints, and ancient skill scrolls.
With a CLINK sound, the needle stopped on an ornate bronze-and-gold icon shaped like a three-legged cauldron.
[DING!]
[S-RANK FORTUNE WHEEL SPIN COMPLETE!]
[CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE OBTAINED: ANCIENT ALCHEMY CRUCIBLE]

[GRADE: SOVEREIGN ARTIFACT]
[EFFECT: AUTOMATICALLY EXTRACTS, PURIFIES, AND HARMONIZES ALL VOLATILE REAGENTS. GUARANTEES 100% PERFECT PURITY AND ZERO EXPLOSION BACKLASH ON ALL SYNTHESIS RECIPES!]
A foot-tall cauldron of matte-black iron and gold trim materialized directly on the desk with a thud. Ancient silver scripts pulsed across its surface, giving off a soothing warmth.
Evren let out a short breath and allowed himself a small grin. "Talk about perfect timing."
He brought out the three catalysts.
He dropped the Shadow-Mist Core into the center chamber, followed by the fiery Astral Coral and the freezing Moon-Essence.
As the lid sealed shut, the runes on the crucible ignited.
Golden solar flame and pale blue lunar frost swirled inside the vessel. Rather than clashing, the crucible’s runic arrays wove the two opposing elements into a perfect double-helix spiral, purifying them and fusing them with the shadow core.
After thirty seconds, the light settled. The crucible gave off a soft, chime-like hum as the lid automatically opened.
Inside, there was about three ounces of glowing silver-amethyst nectar that smelled faintly of wild mint and morning rain.
Evren grabbed a clean glass tumbler from the small bar tray on the bookshelf. He carefully tilted the crucible and poured the nectar into the glass.
Holding the tumbler, he stood up from his desk and walked back into the master bedroom
[DING!]
[STAGE 2 SOVEREIGN PURIFICATION ELIXIR — SYNTHESIS COMPLETE!]
[PURITY LEVEL: 100.0% (ABSOLUTE PERFECTION)]
[TARGET RECOVERY: FULL REPAIR OF FOREARM & HAND MANA CHANNELS, DISSOLUTION OF NECROTIC VENOM, RESTORATION OF FINE MOTOR SENSATION!]
Evren took the vial, stood up from his desk, and walked back into the master bedroom.
Amber looked up from where she was folding a blanket. Zephyra sat against the headboard, curiously watching Evren’s every step.
"Here," Evren said, stepping to the side of the bed and holding out the glass. "Drink it slowly."
She looked at the silver-amethyst liquid, then took the glass with both hands. Her fingers were still stiff and clumsy, but Evren placed his palm gently under hers to steady it as she drank the entire potion in one continuous swallow.
The medicine tasted cool at first, like sweet spring water. A heartbeat later, a soothing warmth blossomed in the center of her chest.
Zephyra’s breath hitched. Her eyes widened as the warm energy flowed outward, traveling down her shoulders and flooding through her arms.
For the past three years, her forearms had felt like dead wood, numb and stiff with sharp needles of lingering venom whenever she tried to move.
Now, that cold gray sensation was melting away.
Beneath the pale skin of her wrists, faint violet lines lit up like tiny threads of starlight. The severed mana pathways were knitting back together, cell by cell, dissolving the dark necrotic scars that had trapped her hands in constant weakness.
Zephyra looked down at her hands.
She opened her fingers wide. Then, slowly, she curled them into a tight fist. There was no tremor; there was no dull ache.
She flexed her fingers one by one... index, middle, ring, pinky. The movement was completely smooth, as natural and effortless as it had been before her downfall.
Zephyra pressed her fingertips against the cotton blanket. She could feel the individual threads of the fabric. She touched the wooden headboard, feeling the grain of the polished timber.
Tiny, crackling violet shadow sparks danced between her knuckles, responding instantly to her subconscious will.
Amber let out a soft gasp. "Z... look at your hands."
Zephyra didn’t answer. She sat frozen, staring at her glowing palms.
A single tear slid down her cheek, followed by another. She pressed her face into her hands, her shoulders shaking as three years of silent humiliation and despair washed out of her in quiet sobs.
Evren didn’t say anything. He simply placed a firm hand on her shoulder, letting her feel that solid presence until her breathing slowed.
"Rest now," Evren said gently. "You’re done fighting for tonight."
Zephyra nodded slowly through her tears. Amber helped her lie back under the warm comforter.
Within minutes, exhausted from the ordeal and comforted by the warm healing current in her veins, Zephyra fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.
Evren and Amber stepped out into the living area, leaving the bedroom door slightly open.
"She’s going to be okay," Amber whispered, leaning her head against Evren’s arm.
"She is," Evren replied softly.
He walked over to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, looking out over the glowing skyline of the Imperial Capital. The rain was beginning to clear, leaving thin mist hanging between the distant high-rises.
It was just past two in the morning.
Suddenly, the secure terminal on Evren’s belt vibrated with three short, rapid pulses.
Evren drew the device and checked the screen. It was an encrypted priority line from Veridia Metropolis.
Suddenly, the phone in Evren’s pocket vibrated. He pulled out the phone and checked the screen.
Caller ID: Director Mikay.
Evren swiped the screen to answer and brought the phone to his ear. "Evren here."
"Boss," Mikay’s voice came through, sounding tense. "I’m sorry to call at this hour, but we have a major emergency in Sector One."
Evren’s eyes sharpened. "Speak."
"An hour ago, the main high-voltage mana conduit feeding Mine Number Three was severed," Mikay reported. "The primary elevator hoist suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure and dropped into the deep shaft. Forty of our night-shift miners are trapped on Sub-Level Four."
Amber straightened up, her face instantly turning serious as she heard Mikay’s voice through the speaker.
"Are the air vents holding?" Evren asked immediately. "Where is Derrick?"
"Derrick is already on site," Mikay answered quickly. "They hooked up backup mana-pumps to keep fresh air circulating through the auxiliary borehole, and excavation teams are working to stabilize the shaft. But that’s only half of it."
"Go on," Evren said.
"Over a hundred armed mercenaries wearing unmarked gear set up blockades across three western valley roads. They’re turning back our supply trucks and rescue equipment at gunpoint. Boss... this wasn’t a mechanical breakdown. Someone cut the main power cables from inside the junction vault."
Evren looked out into the night mist, his expression turning cold.
"Sabotage," he said quietly. "Tell Derrick to prioritize getting those forty men out alive. We’re leaving the Capital before sunrise."
