Chapter 320: Who Can Resist a Junior Sister Like This

  • Next Chapter

From that day forward, Qingfeng Temple had a new regular: a sable that kept coming around to beg for liquor.

Ning Fei weighed down the lids of all the liquor jars in the storehouse. Unable to lift them, the sable could no longer steal a drink.

But the little creature had grown bold.

Sometimes, while Ning Fei was playing with Little Dog, a flurry of squeaks would sound from the top of the wall. The sable would scurry down, baring its fangs and waving its claws at him, openly demanding liquor.

This routine even made it onto the trending searches.

Viewers found the sight absolutely magical.

It was as if all the most interesting animals in the world were flocking to Qingfeng Temple.

Ning Fei didn't bother explaining much.

Qingfeng Temple's feng shui was exceptionally blessed to begin with. With the Bai Ze Spiritual Talisman guarding the premises and gathering great fortune, it was perfectly normal for it to attract spiritual creatures.

One day, Ning Fei received another call from Bai Yuanche.

"Ning Fei, take a trip down to the Jiangsu and Zhejiang region in a few days. There's a matter I need you to handle," Bai Yuanche said.

"Jiangsu and Zhejiang? What for?" Ning Fei asked.

"Oh, I bought a small tea plantation a while back and planted some tea. I've been letting a friend manage it, but the leaves are about ready for harvest now, and I'm too lazy to make the trip."

"I had a lawyer transfer everything to you. That tea plantation is yours now, so go take a look."

"Oh, right, Yiyi is heading over your way in a couple of days too. Take her out and show her a good time."

Bai Yuanche rattled off a few more instructions before hanging up.

"A tea plantation..." Ning Fei smiled in mild resignation.

As far as he knew, Bai Yuanche had already left him a courtyard house in Jingdu and a beachfront villa in Hainan. Now he was throwing a tea plantation into the mix.

His master's mindset was certainly strange. Back when they lived together at Qingfeng Temple, Bai Yuanche had only taught him how to cultivate his character and conduct himself. He had never breathed a word about his assets, choosing instead to live a life of poverty.

But on the exact day of Ning Fei's college graduation, the old man inexplicably dumped the position of Temple Master onto him and ran off to spend time with his wife.

And now he kept springing all these "treasures" on him.

It seemed that as the current Temple Master, even he didn't fully understand all the secrets of Qingfeng Temple.

Ning Fei surveyed his surroundings at Qingfeng Temple.

It was all incredibly familiar to him.

However, with his easygoing nature, he didn't feel the need to get to the bottom of everything.

Which past Temple Master hadn't left behind a few secrets, after all?

That afternoon, Bai Yi arrived in Qincheng.

Ning Fei picked her up from the high-speed rail station, took her on a tour of the Wenyan Deer Enclosure, and finally brought her back to Qingfeng Temple.

"Little Fox, Little Dog, it's been so long!"

Bai Yi walked in carrying her luggage. The moment she spotted the pets, she excitedly ran over to play with them.

"When do your classes start?" Ning Fei asked, carrying her bags inside.

"Soon, but I took another month off. My dad said I should tag along with you on a trip down south," Bai Yi replied with a smile, petting Little Dog.

"You're skipping school? You're a college freshman now; your studies are still important." As Bai Yi's older brother figure, Ning Fei couldn't help but give a bit of a lecture.

"Oh, please. I'm studying art, and the school only teaches the absolute basics right now. It's boring. I'd rather go out and see the wider world. It's better for gathering inspiration, too."

"Besides, you're amazing at painting, bro! Why don't you teach me? You even restore cultural relics for the Forbidden City!"

"One of my female professors practically worships you. Ever since she found out you were my brother, she's been so polite to me." The young girl puffed out her chest with a look of pride.

Ning Fei shook his head, simply letting her be.

Everyone walked their own path. Besides, neither he nor his master were short on money, so there was no harm in letting the girl be a little headstrong.

Of course, he couldn't say that out loud, or he'd risk a beating.

Ning Fei's livestream was still running. When the viewers spotted Bai Yi on screen, they excitedly flooded the chat with greetings.

The screen filled with a dense wall of comments calling out "Brother-in-law!" and "That's my wife!"

Clearly, they were all fighting tooth and nail to become Ning Fei's brother-in-law.

It couldn't be helped. His junior sister really was exceedingly pretty.

Seeing the direction the chat was taking, Ning Fei decisively shut off the stream.

With his junior sister visiting Qingfeng Temple, he naturally had to be a good host.

He prepared a lavish dinner.

After the meal, Bai Yi strolled around the backyard, curious about absolutely everything.

Ning Fei walked over carrying a bowl of soup. The broth looked crystal-clear and incredibly appetizing.

"Drink this. It's good for your health," Ning Fei said.

Trusting him completely, Bai Yi took the bowl and took a small sip.

"It's so sweet! Bro, what kind of soup is this?" she looked up and asked.

"I added some honey to it, so it's a bit sweet."

"It's a breast-enhancing soup."

Ning Fei's expression remained entirely casual. He was merely thinking of his junior sister's physical well-being; after all, this was one of Bai Yi's fondest wishes.

Hearing this, Bai Yi blushed furiously, the red flush spreading all the way to the tips of her ears. The sweet soup suddenly lost all its flavor.

She glanced down at her modest chest and let out a quiet, internal sigh.

"Actually, I have another method," Ning Fei added, suddenly recalling something.

Bai Yi finished off the soup, looked up, and asked in a low voice, "Bro, what method?"

Since the topic was already out there, she decided to throw caution to the wind.

"Never mind." Realizing it might be inappropriate, Ning Fei shook his head and dropped the subject.

This only made Bai Yi more intensely curious, and she began pestering Ning Fei for the answer.

"Bro, what method? Does it work? I can try it."

"Everyone online says you're an immortal! Do you have some kind of fairy magic?"

"Why don't you teach me an immortal spell?"

Ning Fei shook his head helplessly and refused to say another word on the matter.

Over the next couple of days, he planned to give Bai Yi a proper tour of the Daoist temple and show her around Qinshan Village. Then, they would head out to the Jiangsu and Zhejiang region to harvest tea at the plantation.

Given that his master had been growing those tea trees for God knows how many years, he figured they wouldn't be anything ordinary.

But Bai Yi was fixated on this miraculous method. She bombarded him with questions until Ning Fei, completely exasperated, had no choice but to give her an honest answer.

Sure enough, the moment she heard his answer, the young girl's face burned bright red again, and she scurried back to her room.

Ning Fei assumed that would be the end of it.

Later that night, Ning Fei had just finished his shower and was getting ready for bed.

The layout of his room was extremely simple: a classic wooden bed the size of a double, a wooden desk, and a wooden chair. He had never shown the desk and chair on his livestream. If anyone were to see them, they would likely be astounded by the terrifying depth of Qingfeng Temple's true heritage.

Neither the age nor the craftsmanship of that furniture was anything ordinary.

Aside from the furniture, the only other decorations were the photos pinned to the wall—snapshots of him and the little guys.

There were photos of their trip to the Kekexili Reserve and their time at South Lake. In every picture, Ning Fei and the animals were smiling happily.

Just then, a sudden knock sounded at his door.

Just like back at the suburban villa, Bai Yi always sought Ning Fei out for a chat right before bedtime, and tonight was no exception.

Of course, it was also because of what Ning Fei had mentioned earlier in the day—specifically, a certain miraculous technique.

Ning Fei got up from his bed, shaking his head with a helpless laugh.

This night turned out to be quite peaceful.
