Chapter 319: Playing Hard to Get, the Purple Sable Begging for Wine

  • Next Chapter

The purple sable was incredibly fast.

Like the Flash using his ultimate move, a streak of purple light zipped away with a swish.

Little Falcon circled in the air, his speed equally impressive.

The purple sable had clearly spotted Little Falcon and deliberately fled toward the woods.

The sky was Little Falcon's domain, but the forest was not.

The forest was dense with lush leaves and tangled branches. Combined with the sable's exceptional agility, Little Falcon's speed and strength were rendered completely useless in this environment.

On the screen, the viewers watched as Little Falcon turned into a black shadow, diving rapidly from the sky.

A split second before the sharp talons could grab it, the purple sable suddenly shifted its body, ducking behind a tree trunk to dodge the attack by a hair's breadth.

Little Falcon's talons struck the branch instead, snapping it cleanly in two.

Watching this scene, Ning Fei's expression changed.

"Little Falcon, go easy! Just catch it, don't hurt it!"

Ning Fei called out.

He had no choice. It was a Class I nationally protected animal. Its body was precious, and it couldn't be subjected to the slightest bump or scratch.

Ning Fei's original intention was just to let Little Falcon frighten it. Then, he would catch it, give it another little scare, and release it.

But this purple sable was far smarter than he had expected. Even though Little Falcon could be considered its natural predator, it wasn't afraid in the slightest.

Ning Fei stopped in his tracks and called Little Falcon back.

The purple sable stood on the tree trunk, locking eyes with Ning Fei.

The little creature looked incredibly angry. With its cheeks puffed out in annoyance, it squeaked twice.

"You stole my wine, so of course I'm going to catch you,"

Ning Fei said to the purple sable.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"

The purple sable bared its teeth and brandished its claws on the branch, occasionally raising its little fists and waving them around as if it were showing off.

Ning Fei was amused. This little guy wasn't big, but it had quite the temper.

Right at that moment, Ning Fei noticed Black Cat Sheriff standing not too far away.

The black cat had previously given the three little Heijiu to Ning Fei to survive the winter, so Ning Fei had done it a favor.

This cat was also highly intelligent and spiritual.

Ning Fei looked at the black cat and said, "Catch that little guy for me, and I'll let you see the kids."

Hearing his words, the black cat lifted its eyes and glanced at the purple sable. Its gaze was ice-cold.

This cat was fierce.

Seeing the black cat staring at it, the purple sable felt a sudden chill wash over its body and immediately bolted.

A second later, the black cat bolted after it.

The atmosphere in the live stream instantly heated up.

The viewers were finally witnessing just how fast animals could be.

The black cat and the purple sable chased each other around the large trees, their two figures looking like beams of light racing one another.

The scene felt a bit like a race between the Flash and Superman.

"So fast!"

"These animals are incredible!"

"Cats are naturally agile, but I never expected a purple sable to run this fast."

"This is so thrilling!"

"6666!"

Cheers erupted among the viewers.

After all, the black cat was a master hunter. As incredibly fast and exceptionally agile as the purple sable was, it was clearly no match for the feline.

It didn't take long for the black cat to successfully capture the purple sable.

Gripping the sable by the scruff of its neck, the cat leapt lightly from the tree and approached Ning Fei.

Ning Fei reached out, took the purple sable, and held it in his hand.

Looking closer, he realized the purple sable was indeed very pretty. It had a pair of large, watery doe eyes, though its expression wasn't very friendly.

"That's what you get for stealing my wine,"

Ning Fei chuckled, holding the purple sable.

"Still want to show off?"

Held in Ning Fei's grip, the purple sable stopped baring its fangs and brandishing its claws. It just tried to struggle free with all its might, but it was obviously futile; Ning Fei certainly wasn't going to let go.

The black cat walked straight off. It had always come and gone like a shadow, appearing and disappearing unpredictably.

Ning Fei brought the purple sable into the temple, planning to punish the little creature.

"So this is a purple sable," the viewers remarked, finally seeing the true face of the wine thief.

"The wine thief is a Class I nationally protected animal. What an eye-opener."

"Is it okay for Temple Master Ning to handle a Class I protected animal like that?"

"The purple sable stole his wine first. As long as he doesn't hurt it, he isn't breaking the law."

Returning to Qingfeng Temple with the purple sable securely in hand, Ning Fei's mood gradually settled back into calmness.

"No more stealing wine in the future, hear me?"

"Squeak, squeak."

Ning Fei lectured the purple sable a bit, but the creature clearly still refused to yield.

Ning Fei walked into Qingfeng Temple. At this moment, Little Dog, Little Fox, and Little Fei saw the small animal in his hand and all crowded around.

Realizing it was surrounded by so many animals, the purple sable looked a little panicked. It squeaked twice more, as if to say:

"What are you doing? Ganging up on me? Fight me one-on-one if you have the guts! One-on-one!"

Ning Fei found this hot-tempered purple sable quite interesting and formed the idea of letting it stay around.

With that thought in mind, Ning Fei released the sable. Upon seeing this, the purple sable immediately turned and fled.

The very next second, Ning Fei unstoppered his Spirit Treasure Gourd and poured out a small saucer of Monkey Wine.

In an instant, the rich aroma of wine filled the air.

The purple sable stopped dead in its tracks.

"A purple sable that loves to drink. I definitely didn't see that coming,"

Ning Fei said with a smile.

He placed the saucer of Monkey Wine in front of Little Fox. Little Fox gently took a few licks, looking exceptionally satisfied.

The other little guys had no interest in the Monkey Wine.

Then, Ning Fei poured another saucer of Monkey Wine and pushed it out toward the purple sable.

"Temple Master Ning is so cunning."

"Hahaha, look at the purple sable! Its legs won't move."

"It's over. I feel like this guy is about to be bribed by Temple Master Ning."

"Highly likely."

On the live stream, the purple sable could be seen hesitating in place for a long time before slowly inching closer, testing Ning Fei's attitude.

Only after seeing that Ning Fei seemed to have no intention of paying it any mind did it slowly approach the saucer.

Honestly, animals like purple sables, squirrels, and weasels truly brought the phrase 'sneaky and suspicious' to life.

Its behavior was the spitting image of a petty thief who wanted to steal but didn't quite dare to.

Ning Fei deliberately avoided looking at it.

The purple sable was a spiritual creature, after all. Sensing that this human held no hostility toward it and that the other animals were off playing on their own, it tiptoed over. Right beside Ning Fei, it slowly began to lap up the Monkey Wine from the saucer.

It didn't take long for it to drink the Monkey Wine entirely clean.

Throughout the entire process, Ning Fei ignored it.

Trust needed to be built.

While the purple sable was drinking, its body was visibly tense at first before slowly relaxing.

Seeing the purple sable completely drop its guard, the viewers let out a collective sigh:

"It's over. This animal couldn't escape Temple Master Ning's demonic clutches either."

"Another Class I protected animal subdued with just a bowl of wine."

After finishing the wine, the purple sable was a bit intoxicated. Its steps faltered, and it actually plopped right onto the ground, all four paws in the air, and drifted off to sleep just like that.

Seeing it lying there, Little Dog seemed to want to go over and give it a sniff.

Ning Fei waved his hand and said, "Leave it alone. Just let it lie there."

Hearing Ning Fei's words, the small animals scattered and paid no more attention to the purple sable sleeping on the ground.

Ning Fei, however, gave a subtle, unnoticeable smile.

Some veteran viewers who understood his actions marveled, "Temple Master Ning is truly a master."

"This tactic of playing hard to get is executed perfectly."
