Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 890: She Doesn’t Feel Sorry for Walker Grant at All
Chloe Reed also checked the time. It was already ten in the morning, which was indeed getting late.
After pondering for a moment, she sent Preston Vance a message.
Chloe Reed: [Preston, have you finished the discharge procedures?]
Preston Vance: [Not yet. I just finished my checkup and am waiting for the results.]
Preston Vance: [Are you done with your work? Do you have time to come over?]
Chloe Reed: [Yes, I’m heading over now.]
Preston Vance: [Okay, I’ll wait for you.]
Putting her phone away, Chloe told Fiona Linton about it.
Fiona chuckled and said, "Chloe, what on earth are you thinking?"
"What do you mean?" Chloe’s eyelashes fluttered, avoiding direct eye contact.
Fiona clicked her tongue. "On one hand, you drunkenly call out Walker Grant’s name. On the other, you’re getting so close to Mr. Vance. What exactly are you trying to do?"
Her game had just ended. She put her phone away and looked up at Chloe, her eyes tinged with curiosity and amusement. "Don’t tell me... you’ve fallen for Mr. Vance?"
Chloe’s expression remained perfectly calm. "He got hurt because of me, after all. Isn’t it normal for me to care a little more about him?"
"No, no, no..." Fiona shook her head. "My intuition tells me that’s not what you’re thinking. Chloe, my intuition is always spot on."
Chloe curled her lips into a smile. "Then use your intuition to tell me. What am I thinking?"
Fiona pondered, stroking her chin. "My guess is... you don’t like Mr. Vance. The two of you are actually plotting something, aren’t you?"
Hearing this, a flash of surprise crossed Chloe’s eyes.
"Fiona really is smart!" she thought. As a bystander, Fiona could clearly see the complex relationships between them all and could easily hit the nail on the head.
Chloe said, "What could he and I possibly be plotting? We’re just ordinary friends. Alright, I’m done talking to you. Just wait for him here. I don’t know when I’ll be back."
Fiona blinked. "You’re just going to leave your sweetheart with me, just like that? Aren’t you afraid I’ll snatch him away?"
Chloe simply smiled sweetly. "Be my guest."
Fiona was speechless. She shuddered, rubbing her arms as goosebumps broke out all over her skin.
Watching Chloe turn and leave, Fiona became even more curious. What exactly was she plotting?
Chloe hailed a ride-share directly to the hospital. When she arrived at the ward, she saw Preston still sitting on the hospital bed. He had already taken off his hospital gown and changed into his own clothes.
Ivy Vance and Mrs. Vance were standing to the side. The doctor was giving them some instructions, and the two women were listening very intently.
Chloe reached out, knocked on the door, and walked in.
Seeing her, Preston’s eyes crinkled with a smile. "You’re here."
Chloe asked, "Are you really ready to be discharged? Are you sure there are no other issues?"
Ivy immediately furrowed her brows. "Chloe Reed, are you cursing Preston? How can you be so vicious?"
Mrs. Vance also frowned at her. "Mrs. Grant, what brings you here?"
Preston’s brow creased. "Mom, Ivy, I was the one who asked her to come. She’s my friend. Please don’t be like this."
Mrs. Vance sighed heavily. "Preston, I don’t object to you making friends, but Mrs. Grant is a married woman. If any unseemly rumors were to spread, you two would be the ones facing the backlash. I’m just thinking of what’s best for you."
Ivy also looked at Preston. "Preston, Walker Grant has gone blind, yet she still wanders around outside all day. She doesn’t care about Walker at all. By the same token, she won’t care about anyone else either. You really need to wake up."
