Chapter 794: Not Letting Her Go Back for the New Year

Judith Pierce could barely conceal the heartache in her eyes. She nodded and said gently, "Mel, thank you for your trouble."

Fiona Linton quickly waved her hands. "It’s no trouble at all. Since he hired me, I’ll definitely do everything in my power to cure him."

Supported by Chloe Reed, Walker Grant walked over to Noah. He leaned down to stroke the little boy’s head, asking softly, "Are you happy staying with Grandpa and Grandma?"

"Yes." Noah nodded honestly, then added, "But I still miss you and Aunt Chloe."

In a tender, childish voice, he asked, "Can’t our whole family live together?"

That way, he would get to see his uncle and aunt every day.

Walker smiled faintly. "Once my eyes are healed, we’ll all live together."

"Then you have to get better really soon!" Noah demanded immediately.

"I will."

Walker stood up. "Mom, Noah’s health is fragile. Let’s go inside before we talk."

"Alright."

Judith pushed the small wheelchair, walking slowly beside Walker.

The Spring Festival was just around the corner. The villa had already been decorated inside and out. Fiery red lanterns hung from the eaves, looking incredibly festive from afar.

It was very warm inside the villa. Chloe went to put her things away first, then took a shower and changed her clothes before coming downstairs.

Judith was sitting on the sofa, discussing something with Walker. The atmosphere between mother and son felt somewhat tense.

Seeing her come down, Judith stopped talking.

Chloe didn’t mind. She went straight into the kitchen to find something to drink.

At that moment, Fiona sneaked over and whispered, "I just heard Aunt Jensen trying to get Walker to return to the family estate for the Spring Festival, but he refuses to go."

Chloe paused, a trace of confusion surfacing in her clear, watery eyes. She wondered why he didn’t want to go back.

Fiona seemed to read her mind. Lowering her voice even further, she said, "Aunt Jensen told him that since the two of you are getting a divorce soon, it’s not appropriate for you to spend the New Year together anymore. So, she wants him to go back alone.

"How could she say something like that? You’re getting divorced soon, but it hasn’t happened yet. What kind of nonsense is it to forbid you from going back for the holidays with him?" Fiona frowned, her face full of disapproval.

Hearing this, Chloe lowered her eyes slightly, her long eyelashes fluttering. She took a sip of juice before pulling out her phone to type out a response. "It’s normal for her to say that. After all, in their eyes, Walker and I no longer have anything to do with each other."

Especially since Judith treated her like a toxic plague, firmly believing that Walker’s life would be in danger if he got too close to her. Naturally, she wouldn’t want Chloe to go back with them for the New Year.

Seeing her calm expression, a hint of heartache appeared in Fiona’s eyes. "Who cares if you don’t go back? That was never your home anyway. If you were only thinking about Walker, why would you have bothered coming back here at a time like this? If he has any conscience, he should know what the right thing to do is."

Chloe continued to type, and the cold, mechanical female voice spoke. "Don’t say that. His parents love him very much, and it’s perfectly normal for them to want him back for a family reunion dinner. Whatever he decides to do is his own choice. I respect that."

"Chloe, how can you be so good-natured?" Fiona sighed. "Don’t worry, I’ll keep you company. When the time comes, we’ll live it up, feast like queens, hire a few hot male models, and celebrate with a bang!"

"Mhm."

Chloe curled her lips into a smile and nodded.
