Just bringing one child would be enough for him alone, but having Xia Yu and Liang Qian accompany him meant this was very important! "I’ve brought them!" Xia Yu landed and set down the boy, who had been renamed Du Ping’an. All the way, she had held the child tightly as they flew, not only to increase speed but also out of concern for any mishaps. Now, delivering the child, she felt a great sense of relief.

Pei Yan nodded and approached Du Ping’an. The boy still showed fear upon seeing him, hiding behind Du Guangyuan. This time, Du Guangyuan didn’t encourage his son to interact with outsiders as he usually did, sensing a foreboding due to their sudden arrival.

Pei Yan removed his facial mask and forced out a friendly smile, beckoning the boy again. When calling his name softly, the boy clung tighter to Du Guangyuan’s pants, unwilling to let go. Pei Yan’s smile froze, then fell, replaced by a sinister look. He stepped forward and seized the boy’s shoulder, pulling him over forcibly.

"Mr. Pei, Mr. Pei, let’s talk calmly, why are you...," Du Guangyuan pleaded, seeing his son cry out in pain, disregarding his status or the strength gap between them. He stepped forward to try and persuade Pei Yan.

Du Guangyuan knelt with hands bound behind him, now recalling his prisoner status! He was never really an advisor; just a prisoner with limited use. Realizing this, his heart filled with resentment and helplessness, he bowed dejectedly.

With Du Guangyuan subdued, Pei Yan ignored his train of thought, turned to the sobbing Du Ping’an, and squatted down, gripping his chin fiercely, growling: "No crying!"

"Hiss~ Huff~ Hiss~ Huff!" Perhaps Pei Yan’s fierce rebuke had an effect, for Du Ping’an ceased wailing, reduced to sobbing.

Seeing this, Pei Yan smiled slightly, released his grip, and reached for Du Ping’an’s cheek. The child instinctively tried to dodge, yet Pei Yan’s bizarre mechanical eye deterred any movement. His head tilted back but was soon seized by Pei Yan. He lightly wiped the tear streaks off the boy’s face and said amiably: "You resemble your mother more, so delicate. Grow up and you might be handsome! Your father named you Du Ping’an, right? Safe is good! Come, little Ping’an! Look around, familiar with this scene?"

As Pei Yan spoke, he pulled Du Ping’an’s shoulders nonchalantly, dragging him to the battlefield, letting him face the shattered Vlad family castle and the deep pit stacked with Vlad family member corpses awaiting destruction.

"Ah—ah—!" Witnessing the horrific scene, Du Ping’an screamed uncontrollably, backing away frantically. Yet Pei Yan’s iron grip held his shoulders tightly, forcing his head forward to witness everything. Then Pei Yan whispered softly in the sobbing Du Ping’an’s ear: "Look! Take a good look! This is your home and your family members! Now they’re destroyed! You’re next! Do you think you can hide, Delacuri?"
