Chapter 1421: Chapter 1421: Du Ping’an

Seeing the two people who pushed the door in, the child was noticeably more nervous, especially when he saw Pei Yan behind Xia Yu; he instinctively dodged behind Du Guangyuan.

"Looks like you’re getting along well with your son?" Pei Yan made an effort to put on a friendly smile and waved to the child, but it seemed to make the child even more scared, causing him to tremble uncontrollably. This embarrassed Pei Yan a bit; he touched his cheek, turned to Xia Yu, and said self-deprecatingly, "Has the wound on my face not healed? Or have I really become so frightening?"

Xia Yu glanced at him, at his tightly closed eye, while the other eye flickered with a bizarre light from the mechanical eye, and said, "With your current appearance, children will indeed be scared!"

Seeing Pei Yan’s awkward demeanor, Du Guangyuan laughed to ease the situation and said, "The child is afraid of you not because of your appearance, but because of the high-level Blood Race bloodline of Delacuri in your body, which is an absolute authority that lower-tier Blood Servants cannot resist."

"So that’s it!" Pei Yan nodded upon hearing this explanation and asked the child, "Have you decided on what to name him?"

"The Vlad family never treated him as a person, so they didn’t give him a name. It’s somewhat fortunate that when I suggested naming him, he didn’t have much resistance to it." Du Guangyuan said, lovingly patting the head of the son hiding behind him, "Ping’an, Du Ping’an! My greatest wish for him in this life is safe and sound."

"Ping’an, that’s good!" Pei Yan said as he walked to the bedside, waved to Du Ping’an again, and called, "Ping’an! Come! Come!"

Little Ping’an was still a bit shy, but eventually, encouraged and comforted by Du Guangyuan, he slowly walked out from behind him and approached Pei Yan. Pei Yan reached out and touched the child’s forehead, then grasped his wrist. Ignoring the child’s slight struggle, he injected the source energy into his body for inspection. As he previously examined, the child had three spell-like blood toxins in him, tormenting him physically and mentally every day. Thankfully, for Pei Yan, removing these spells wasn’t difficult.

"Ahh!"

Pressed for time, Pei Yan didn’t have the luxury to delay; thus he started removing the spells from the child directly. Although he tried to be gentle and careful, the feedback from breaking the spell caused the child to cry out in pain.

Seeing his son in agony, Du Guangyuan was heartbroken. Yet, he knew Pei Yan was saving his son, so he could only help restrain Du Ping’an’s struggling body. Thankfully, little Vlad only put these spells to torment him, which did not require any advanced techniques, allowing Pei Yan to dissolve the child’s inner restrictions within five minutes and subsequently seal the Blood Race bloodline within Du Ping’an.

"Alas! I won’t have a good impression in this kid’s mind. I should’ve called Old Ye over first to hypnotize him, then heal him." Pei Yan said helplessly as he looked at Du Ping’an, who had fallen asleep in Du Guangyuan’s arms, "Rest assured, your son will no longer suffer from these spells. I’ve also sealed his bloodline! As he grows, the seal on his bloodline will gradually unseal, but by then, it will be reinforced by someone, so you won’t need to worry about his blood cravings for at least a year or two."

"Thank you, sir, for saving his life! Thank you, sir, for saving his life."

Du Guangyuan attempted to kneel but was stopped by Pei Yan, "I didn’t do it for you! Your sins can’t be repaid in this lifetime. My captain sacrificed himself saving your son; I can save him, and I will." After speaking, Pei Yan ignored Du Guangyuan’s ashamed face and turned to Xia Yu, "How old is this child?"

"About six years old?" Xia Yu estimated.

"Oh!" Pei Yan nodded, turning back to Du Guangyuan, "Six years old is about right for elementary school. Your sins are yours! The hall will support this child’s education until he’s grown. Meanwhile, teach him Mandarin and help him adapt to this world; in some time, I’ll find a teacher to provide him preschool tutoring."

After speaking, Pei Yan scratched his head and complained: "Raising one lamb is the same as two; I’ll let this kid go to school with my junior. Damn! At this rate, I’m managing a daycare!"

Leaving the underground chamber holding Du Guangyuan, Pei Yan didn’t rush home. Instead, he used a Teleportation Array to the Dragon Realm and Immortal Palace, seeking support against the Vlad family. As Gu Shenghui anticipated, his requests were exceptionally smooth, with both parties grateful to Pei Yan agreed to assist if informed on the mission day.

After running errands all day, Pei Yan finally returned home. His first task was dealing with a canister of blood toxin, yet unsure what to do with it; he temporarily stored it in the Storage Ring Space, for future consideration.

With everything completed, Pei Yan finally relaxed, enjoying tasks he wanted to do. That night, he dined with Zhao Yuanhu and watched a film she wanted, marking their imperfect first date.

Afterward, awaiting tasks, Pei Yan brought Zhao Yuanhu to meet his parents. Mr. Pei and Mrs. Pei were naturally delighted seeing their son safely returned and brought a girlfriend. The family enjoyed three days of harmonious leisure, during which Pei Yan visited Zhao Yuanhu’s parents. Though renowned outside, facing her potential father-in-law, Pei Yan appeared unseasoned; nervously and constrained, like a child. Fortunately, Zhao’s parents knew Pei Yan’s promising future and only had slight concerns over his dangerous occupation. After a meal resembling an interrogation, Pei Yan couldn’t help but compare it to battling ten Delacuri, feeling even more exhausted.

Leisure passes quickly, delays in pursuing the Vlad family benefit nobody. Mei Simiao understood this, quickening communications with the magic realm. Despite some challenging requests and strict limitations proposed, the current investigation hall wasn’t Wu Xia A Meng. With more resources and allies, Mei Simiao argued her case and made concessions occasionally. Through negotiations, she finalized a plan satisfying both sides. Upon agreement, Mei Simiao returned to headquarters, announcing the commencement of the Vlad encirclement campaign.
