Chapter 1420: Chapter 1420: Father and Son’s Warmth

Mei Simiao responded to the topic, "No matter how you look at it, the Vlad family belongs to the magical planes. During the cleanup process, you will inevitably have to lead a team through the magical planes. If such a strong force acts on someone else’s turf without informing the host, it will be criticized. Moreover, eradicating the Vlad family should be one of the established targets of the three major councils. After expressing our request, they will also send people to help monitor, which can be an assistance for you."

Pei Yan found this arrangement reasonable and said nothing. Although he once had conflicts with each of the four planes, relations with the other three have eased and could even be considered friendly. Only the magical plane and the Bloodhelm plane were deeply offended by Pei Yan. Although he wasn’t in the mood to mend these relations now, he didn’t want to create more trouble in this chaotic time either. Therefore, to prevent conflicts, he decided to leave the communication to Mei Simiao. Thinking of this, he looked at his counterpart and nodded helplessly, "Then I’ll trouble Director Mei! You know what to do!"

"I know! During negotiations, I will tactfully suggest sending personnel who haven’t had any conflicts with you." Mei Simiao smiled knowingly.

"Then there’s nothing more! Next, just wait for Director Mei to finalize the dates with the other side, and we can set off! Oh, by the way, how’s Du Guangyuan’s son doing?" Remembering the child he rescued, Pei Yan asked off-handedly.

Afterward, Xia Yu had helped to settle things, and seeing Pei Yan asking, she smiled and said, "That child is still not very adaptable to such changes, but he can sense our good intentions, so the resistance isn’t as strong anymore! We have given Du Guangyuan special treatment and haven’t rushed him back into the Secret Prison, allowing him some time to be alone with his son. However, the child’s body does have many remaining torturous spells left by the Vlad family. Daily at morning, noon, and night, he suffers intolerable pain, causing him to convulse. With Du Guangyuan’s skills, he can only alleviate the pain but not cure it. Also, the child has been transformed into a member of the Blood Race by Delacuri, and as a low-level Blood Race member, he cannot suppress his craving for blood, mentally tortured. This might be one of the Vlad family’s punitive measures. I felt terrible for him and got a bag of blood from the hospital blood bank to ease his pain, but this isn’t a long-term solution."

"The former is easy, I’ll go and relieve the torturous spells within him shortly. As for the latter...?" Pei Yan scratched his head helplessly and said, "He’s already converted to the Blood Race, and I can’t turn him back into an ordinary human. To suppress the craving for blood, he must grow to a level above Baron in the Blood Race. This goal isn’t hard to achieve, I can temporarily suppress his bloodline to offset his craving for blood. Once he grows up normally, we can guide him to progress. If his character is upright with no issues, he can become an agent in the Investigation Bureau. If he’s not suitable, once he becomes a Baron, we will completely seal his ability to use Blood Race spells."

"We have to go with that!" Gu Shenghui agreed with Pei Yan’s proposal. Just as the few were done discussing and ready to leave, he remembered something, called out to Pei Yan, and reminded, "The iron canister in your bathroom contains the blood poison you eliminated, right? How are you planning to deal with it? I asked Du Guangyuan about it; he’s quite interested in this stuff. The blood poison cleared by high-level Blood Race bloodlines can be activated using Blood Race spells, resulting in even stronger toxicity than before. I didn’t agree to his request! Let’s see what you think, if you wish to destroy it, we can think of a way."

Stopped by Gu Shenghui, Pei Yan stood at the door for a while thinking. He initially planned to let the Investigation Bureau find a suitable way to destroy it, but now hearing Du Guangyuan’s comment, he developed a new interest in the canister of blood poison. After considering for a while, he changed his mind, "Leave it to me! I’ll handle it when I get back."

After leaving Gu Shenghui’s office, he didn’t rush home, but first returned with Ye Ruozai to the old Investigation Bureau headquarters’ secret warehouse, inspecting the sealed Ye Jiumu stored there. In the glass sealing container, Ye Jiumu was frozen in time, still faintly showing signs of aging from when he was initially sealed. Pei Yan placed his hand on the container, sensing the changes within Ye Jiumu’s body. Now possessing the Moira and Delacuri dual bloodline, he easily sensed the lingering breath of the blood curse. Indeed, with the caster having fallen, this trace of blood curse has dissolved mostly, leaving a small, insignificant core stubbornly remaining in Ye Jiumu’s bloodline.

"The situation is better than I expected; it seems Delacuri’s death really greatly impacts the blood curse. With only this residue trace, even if Delacuri regains certain strength to stimulate the blood curse, it won’t immediately take Jiumu’s life, giving us time to react."

Pei Yan explained what he investigated to Ye Ruozai, and their moods greatly improved. Next, Pei Yan bade farewell to Ye Ruozai and met with Xia Yu who was awaiting him, going together to address Du Guangyuan’s son’s physical issue.

Du Guangyuan made significant contributions to the Investigation Bureau regarding the Vlad family issue, and expressed willingness to accept punishment and comply with the Investigation Bureau’s arrangements. However, his past crimes were indeed quite serious, not mentioning others, even members of God’s Will, particularly Han Lihu’s family, once died at his hands. The Investigation Bureau wouldn’t forgive his crimes because of his recent deeds, nor loosen the monitoring over him.

Hence, out of emotional concern, the Investigation Bureau decided not to return Du Guangyuan to the Secret Prison temporarily, giving him and his son some time together, albeit under strict monitoring. Their room is in a basement built by the Transfer and Dispatch Center, which, while spacious and complete with necessary living amenities, is heavily monitored with checkpoints throughout. Escaping under the eyes of many experts would be near impossible.

As Pei Yan and Xia Yu passed the approval and verification process to enter the basement, what they saw was moving. Du Guangyuan sat beside his child at the bed’s edge, holding a tablet computer, and slid the images back and forth on it under the child’s curious gaze. As a former Blood Servant of the Vlad family, he naturally knew the Blood Race’s language, allowing smooth communication. Carefully explaining the meaning behind the images, he translated them into standard language, teaching his son to pronounce and read.

It was really hard to imagine that the person before us was once a cold-blooded killer among the leaders of God’s Will. Pei Yan couldn’t help but be moved by this sight.
