Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 189: Dungeon Cleared
Killing the Giant Mandrake ends the Gamma-level dungeon.
The Giant Mandrake had many rewards, but more importantly, the core of the dungeon can be said to be the most valuable reward.
After retrieving the core of the dungeon, the dungeon collapsed, and the real botanical garden revived.
Troy’s team emerged, Drew’s wheelchair humming until they returned to the patiently waiting Luke.
Seeing them coming, Luke stood up respectfully, glad to see that everyone was safe and sound—but he would have been disappointed if it weren’t the case. Because he used Lifesteal to weaken the Giant Mandrake, making the battle easier for them.
However, they were not satisfied with this—mainly Fiona, because Luke received 65% of the experience points due to his greater contribution, as that Giant Mandrake was originally a deadly threat.
Luke noticed the expressions on their faces, stroked his neck, indicating he was taking responsibility.
“I guess I won’t be invited to any more hunting trips after today?” He said shyly.
“No, but you at least deserve to get something,” Troy said and walked over to Luke, and gave him two items as a reward.
The items were: a Phantom Mushroom, and the other is a Simple-tier Evolution Crystal.
The Phantom Mushroom is an item that can make you invisible, turn you into an illusion, or allow you to stealth for a period of time.
Evolution crystals are self-explanatory.
But the evolution crystal is of a simple level.
Luke doesn’t have the Refinement talent like Scarlett, so he can’t make the evolution crystal stronger.
So, this Simple-tier evolution crystal is redundant.
But refusing gifts—even if they are his well-deserved rewards—was not in Luke’s upbringing, so Luke accepted the Phantom Mushrooms and Evolution Crystals and bowed.
Fiona crossed her arms and said, “Don’t pretend to be grateful like that. You have a chance to get more.”
“More? Luke asked. “I thought you said I was no longer invited to your party.”
“Yes, but I’m giving you a chance to join our guild. This way, you can join the team.”
“Join your guild? The Victorian Guild?”
Fiona noticed the exchange of glances between Like and her boyfriend Troy, who looked quite nervous, and she replied, “Yes, is there a problem? The Victorian Guild is considered one of the top five. If you join us, we won’t treat you as a stranger, and you will enjoy all the privileges.”
“No, no problem, but Drew kindly asked me before, and I said no, so unfortunately I say no again,” Luke declined.
What? Fiona could hardly believe her ears.
Someone turned down an invitation from the Victorian Guild?
Luke didn’t explain to Fiona why he won’t join the Victorian Guild or any guild, as he explained to Drew.
So, Fiona believes that Luke’s refusal is because of what Troy told him earlier—does that mean she ultimately overheard their conversation about Count Lucius and the Obsidian Order?
Fiona stammered, shaking her head to calm herself, “I—I will respect your decision.”
Luke bowed again, then turned to Drew and Rey, bidding them farewell.
“Luke Kingsley, thank you for giving me some confidence today,” Drew said. “Please don’t forget; if you change your mind, please don’t forget to reach out.”
“Of course,” Luke replied while shaking Drew’s hand.
Meanwhile, Amigo spoke in Luke’s mind: “Master, with the powers of Medusa, the Olympian Serpent, you have the ability to heal Drew’s crippledness and restore his legs. Why haven’t you done it yet?”
Luke stammered, finding himself short of words. “Because…”
“Because it’s not my responsibility to do so,” Luke said.
Amigo persistently replied like a devil on his shoulder, “The Olympian Serpent is a God-beast, master. She can alter anything in life. Stop trying to be a philosopher, go heal this poor fellow.”
“No. Besides being a good Samaritan, tell me why I should do this?” Luke replied, regaining his voice and his resolve. “Why should I intervene in Drew’s story, just because I have the ability? Healing his leg would prevent him from adapting to what he has adapted to so far. If he didn’t have a disability, he wouldn’t unlock the beast transformation. Amigo, sometimes we have to leave things as they are until it demands a change.”
“Well said, Master!”
Luke took a deep breath, then stood up and greeted Drew’s sister, Rey.
Rey is plain-looking, but she is a grown woman, so she is well-proportioned, and her hair is in a bob.
Luke takes her hand, gently kisses the back of it, and finally shakes Troy’s hand.
He was pleased to see that Troy, who had previously disliked him, now liked him; as people often say, friendship is built on shared struggle.
After saying goodbye to everyone, Luke turned and left the botanical garden, returning to the city, realizing that evening was approaching.
He dismissed his chestplate, looking like an ordinary citizen, and walked to the roadside to catch a taxi, but the talking slug on his shoulder wasn’t an ordinary sight.
“So, Master, what effect will the Second Class Molten Triceratops Mask have? And what about your Seven-Tusk Elephant Sabatons? Also, are you sure you can upgrade your mythic-level Olympian Serpent Armor using the Second Class Beast Armor Blueprint feature? Sometimes, mythic-level armor has unique requirements.”
“Yes, you’re right. For mythic armor, either the Flame cost will be extremely high, or it won’t be possible to upgrade it this way at all.”
After waiting for a while, not a single taxi stopped. Luke groaned, clutching his chest.
“Urgh…”
“Master, what’s wrong?” Amigo asked.
“My soul space is so restless. A C-level soul can’t accommodate two mythic summons? Or perhaps the Primordial Twins are actually considered different entities, making it three mythic summons within a single soul space? Amigo, I have no choice but to summon Seraphina.”
Flash!
Luke summoned Seraphina, and she appeared gracefully and beautifully.
Luke summoned Seraphina to free his soul space, but this also brought another benefit.
Because when Seraphina appeared by the roadside, a taxi driver realized he could stop, as Seraphina was very sexy.
However, when he saw her with a guy around her age or slightly older, he felt disappointed because it meant they were a couple.
But the taxi driver had already stopped, so Luke and Seraphina got in the car whether he liked it or not.
This time, Seraphina got into the car smoothly because she learned from her previous experience.
