Otaku F*cks Them All
Chapter 108: Unexpected Morning
Morning light crept through the half-open curtains of Kael’s apartment in thin gold bars. He floated in that hazy space between sleep and waking, body heavy, mind still half-tangled in whatever dream had been running. The usual morning hardness pressed against something soft and warm beneath the blanket. Instinct made him shift his hips, rubbing slowly against the yielding surface. It felt like cotton and skin at the same time—too real, too close.
"Ah~"
His eyes opened to see where that voice came from.
Eida lay on her side facing him, completely naked, one arm draped across his waist, her cheek resting near his shoulder. Long dark-blue hair spilled over the pillow and across his chest. Her eyes were still closed, expression as peaceful and unreadable as ever.
Kael’s entire body locked.
He jerked backward so hard the blanket tangled around his legs. One hand snatched a pillow and jammed it over his lap while the other braced against the mattress.
"What—what are you doing here?"
Eida’s eyes opened slowly, the same calm, slightly distant look she always wore. She did not startle. She did not cover herself. She simply regarded him the way someone might regard a mildly interesting cloud.
"Hmm?" Her voice was flat, almost sleepy. "What did you say?"
Kael kept the pillow firmly in place. "What are you doing in my apartment? In my bed. Naked."
She said "Well it doesn’t matter."
"It matters to me. Explain."
She pushed herself up on one elbow, making no effort to hide anything. "Well. You see, I can see everyone, anywhere."
He stared. "What?"
"I have an ability called Senrigan. Clairvoyance, if you prefer the simpler word. I can observe any human being in the world whenever I want."
She tilted her head a fraction, as if the next part were the only detail that actually mattered. "You’re the only one I can’t see. So I came to check on you last night and you know Himawari takes up a lot of space in the bed we share. I decided it would be more comfortable to sleep next to you."
The explanation landed in the quiet room with the same emotional weight she might have used to announce the weather. No embarrassment. No awareness that crawling naked into a man’s bed without invitation crossed several lines at once.
Kael opened his mouth, closed it, then tried again. "Even if every single one of those points is... technically true from your side, that doesn’t make it okay. You can’t just show up naked in someone’s bed without them knowing."
Eida looked at him for a long moment. The silence stretched. Finally she gave the smallest shrug, the kind that said the entire concept of "okay" was optional.
She truly did not seem to care.
For Kael the moment felt strangely inverted. Every other encounter since he arrived in this world had begun with him making the first move—system quest or personal impulse, it had always been his decision. This was the first time someone had simply placed herself in his space without waiting for permission or invitation. The novelty sat uncomfortably beside the irritation.
He exhaled through his nose. "Okay. Get dressed. If anyone sees you like this it’s going to be impossible to explain."
Eida sat up fully, still naked, and reached for the clothes she had folded neatly on the floor the night before. She dressed with the same unhurried efficiency she brought to everything—no teasing, no deliberate slowness, just the practical motion of someone putting on fabric because it had been requested. Kael kept his eyes carefully averted until she finished, then crossed to the front door and cracked it open.
The hallway was empty.
"Clear," he said. "Go."
Eida stepped past him without another word. She had almost reached the neighboring door when the one beside it slid open.
Sumire stood there, hair still loose from sleep, a small basket of cleaning cloths in her arms. Her gaze moved from Eida’s face to the open doorway behind her—to Kael standing in his own apartment in sleep pants and a hastily grabbed shirt—and understanding flickered across her features a second too early.
Kael felt the situation tilting toward disaster.
Eida glanced at Sumire, then back at Kael, and spoke in the same flat tone she had used to explain clairvoyance.
"This guy ravaged me the whole night even though I rejected him."
The words dropped into the hallway like a stone into still water.
Kael’s brain short-circuited. "What did you just say?"
Sumire’s eyes went wide, then narrowed in sudden comprehension. She stepped between them before Kael could move, both hands raised.
"Wait—Naruto-san. I understand. She was being sarcastic. Please don’t get angry."
Eida’s expression did not change. She simply looked at Sumire for a beat, then at Kael, and gave another of those tiny, unreadable shrugs. Without further comment she slipped into the women’s apartment and slid the door shut behind her.
The hallway fell quiet again.
Sumire lowered her hands slowly. "She does that. Says the most shocking thing possible in the calmest voice. I think it’s how she tests whether people will react."
Kael dragged a hand down his face. "She’s the first person who’s managed to confuse me this badly before breakfast."
Sumire’s mouth twitched, almost a smile, before she schooled it away. "In the future she was... difficult to predict. Loyal to one person above everything else, and everyone else existed on the edges. I suppose some things don’t change even when the world does."
She hesitated, then added more quietly, "Are you all right?"
"I’m fine." Kael glanced at the closed door Eida had disappeared through. "Just recalibrating. Go back inside. I’ll handle the rest of the morning."
Sumire nodded, still looking like she wanted to say more, then retreated into the neighboring apartment. Kael closed his own door and leaned against it, staring at the empty bed that still held the faint indentation of a second body.
Eida’s personality sat in his mind like a locked box. Detached. Blunt. Completely unconcerned with ordinary social gravity. She had walked into his most private space, slept against him naked, announced it without shame, and then weaponized sarcasm so dry it could have started a fire—all before the sun was fully up. And the worst part was that every explanation she gave had been, from her perspective, perfectly reasonable.
He pushed off the door and headed for the small kitchen to start water for tea. Outside, Konoha was waking up in ordinary summer heat. Inside his apartment the quiet felt different than it had the day before—less empty, more complicated.
Somewhere on the other side of the shared wall, Eida was probably already watching the world through eyes that could see everyone except him. The thought was oddly unsettling.
Kael poured the water and waited for the tea to steep, already certain of one thing: handling her was going to require an entirely different set of rules than the ones he had used with anyone else.
