Chapter 85

Ding! You have slain a Level 11 monster, Webfiend. You have gained 1 EXP.

Ding! You have slain a Level 12 monster, Webfiend. You have gained 1.1 EXP.

Ding! You have slain a Level 10 monster, Webfiend. You have gained 1 EXP.

The notifications continued flashing across Orion’s screen as he struck down one monster after another. With every passing second, more Webfiends fell beneath his attacks, their pained screams filling the air as their grotesque bodies crumpled to the ground. The slaughter showed no signs of slowing down, and the EXP notifications kept appearing at an almost ridiculous pace.

The battle was going smoothly, perhaps a little too smoothly.

Still, there was a perfectly reasonable explanation for that.

Despite being only Level 2, Orion was arguably the strongest Basic-Level warrior in the world at that moment.

To understand just how absurd his strength was, one had to consider that the stat cap for a Basic-Level warrior was 100. Even among the most talented individuals, pushing an attribute into the nineties was an extraordinary achievement. Throughout human history, no one had ever managed to reach 100 in every physical attribute while still at the Basic Level.

And yet, Orion had already surpassed the limits that most warriors could only dream of reaching.

Although he was merely Level 2, his attributes rivaled those of most mid-level Elite warriors. His physical stats were far beyond what an ordinary Basic-Level warrior could achieve, and his mental attributes were just as absurd. By conventional standards, his current strength shouldn’t have been possible at his level.

Even that, however, wasn’t the full extent of his power.

With Origin Mind and Origin Eyes working together, alongside the boosts from Origin Multiplication and the blue dagger, Orion had become a genuine menace in every sense of the word. His perception allowed him to recognize threats and openings with remarkable precision, while his control over his movements enabled him to respond with almost flawless efficiency.

Combined with his ability to anticipate attacks, exploit the slightest openings, and bring his overwhelming strength to bear at precisely the right moment, he had become a nightmare for any opponent unfortunate enough to stand against him.

To the Webfiends, he was nothing short of a calamity.

More monsters continued falling beneath his blade, their bodies piling up as Orion carved his way through the seemingly endless horde. Considering the sheer number of creatures he had slaughtered, he should already have been covered from head to toe in blood.

Strangely enough, however, his immaculate white outfit remained completely clean.

Every drop of blood that splashed onto his clothes vanished almost immediately, as though it had no right to leave a stain on something so pristine. The crimson liquid would touch the fabric, linger for the briefest instant, and then disappear without leaving even the slightest trace.

His outfit remained as spotless as ever, completely unaffected by the carnage surrounding him.

Orion didn’t understand much about the phenomenon, but if he had to guess, it probably had something to do with his egotistical system.

That system of his was beyond the very definition of pride. Its arrogance was so absurd that even something as ordinary as blood seemed beneath its dignity, making the strange phenomenon seem entirely fitting for a system with such an outrageous personality.

Still, Orion didn’t bother investigating the matter. Whatever the reason behind it, his clothes remained clean, and that was good enough for him.

He couldn’t afford to let himself become distracted.

Although he was overwhelmingly stronger than the Webfiends, their numbers presented a different problem. There were simply too many of them, and no matter how efficiently he killed, the horde continued advancing.

It was as though an endless swarm of abominations had crawled out from the depths of hell with the sole purpose of destroying the city. Their grotesque bodies surged forward in a seemingly unending tide, filling the streets and forcing Orion to keep fighting if he wanted to stop them.

Yet, strangely enough, the growing horde only made him happier.

After all, the more Webfiends he killed, the more EXP he gained. The more EXP he accumulated, the faster he could level up, and every level brought him closer to unlocking even greater power.

For Orion, there was hardly a better situation to be in.

The faster he leveled up, the more the Origin State could demonstrate just how ridiculously broken it was.

He had barely begun exploring the true extent of its power, yet every level-up already granted him an absurd increase in strength. His current abilities were impressive enough, but if each successive level continued boosting his attributes at this rate, he couldn’t even begin to imagine what he would become after reaching the higher levels.

The thought alone made the endless horde seem even more appealing.

Soon, Orion accumulated enough EXP to trigger another level-up. However, the experience wasn’t coming from his own kills alone. The EXP earned by his two clones was also being transferred to him.

Since all three shared the same system, the experience obtained from their combined kills accumulated together, allowing every Webfiend slain by any of the three Orions to contribute to their collective progress.

Considering the sheer number of monsters they were slaughtering across the city, the amount of EXP flowing into the system was nothing short of ridiculous. While one Orion carved through the horde in one area, his clones continued their own slaughter elsewhere, ensuring that the experience kept accumulating from multiple directions.

It wasn’t long before another notification appeared.

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for successfully reaching Level 3!

Orion had reached Level 3, and another overwhelming boost immediately followed.

His physical attributes, which had previously stood at 150, soared to 200, while his mental attributes increased from 120 to 180. Even his mana pool, which had already reached 20,000, surged to 30,000.

The transformation was instantaneous, with power flooding through his body as his muscles strengthened and his senses sharpened. The boost also replenished his ability to sustain his extraordinary movements, allowing him to maintain his relentless assault with even greater efficiency.

The sensation was extremely addictive.

There was something intoxicating about feeling such overwhelming power flow through every part of his body. It felt as though the limits that had once restrained him were being pushed farther and farther away, opening the door to heights that should have been impossible for someone at his current level.

And Orion could feel the difference immediately.

His speed became even more ridiculous, his movements faster and his reactions sharper. Every strike carried greater force, allowing him to tear through the Webfiends with even less effort than before.

The monsters barely had time to recognize the danger before their lives were extinguished. One moment, they were rushing toward him with their bladed limbs raised, and the next, they were collapsing beneath his attacks.

His clones experienced the same increase in power.

With their strength rising alongside his, the slaughter accelerated even further. The three Orions continued moving across the city, cutting down the monsters at an increasingly terrifying pace, their enhanced speed allowing them to cover more ground and eliminate more enemies in less time.

Every kill added to their accumulated EXP, pushing them closer to the next level.

The more they killed, the more EXP they gained, and the more EXP they gained, the faster they leveled up. Each level-up strengthened them further, allowing them to slaughter the Webfiends even more efficiently and accumulate EXP at an even greater rate.

It was a vicious cycle that continuously pushed their strength to new heights, and with the horde showing no signs of running out, the three Orions had no shortage of opportunities to grow stronger.

Then, before long, it happened again.

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for successfully reaching Level 4!
