Chapter 73

Back inside Orion’s room, the frown on his face slowly disappeared as his expression relaxed.

There was, in fact, a third option that Sky Dancer hadn’t mentioned. Perhaps she simply couldn’t imagine that such an option existed, especially considering that Orion was still only a Level 1 warrior.

After all, there was no way someone at that level could possibly stand a chance against an Elite-Level guild like the Scourge Guild... or so she believed.

What she didn’t know, however, was that Orion had undergone a Reawakening, and his Reawakening couldn’t have been any more broken.

The current Orion was so powerful that he genuinely believed he could fight a low Elite-Level warrior using his Origin State and Flash skill. Not only that, but he believed he could actually kill one!

Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to assume that every Elite-Level warrior was the same. There could always be differences in their abilities, skills, combat experience, and overall strength. Nevertheless, the fact remained that Orion now possessed enough power to challenge opponents who should have been far beyond his current level.

And that was only the beginning.

When he considered the other benefits of his Origin System, combined with the additional abilities he was certain to obtain once he acquired his first Origin Summon, Orion couldn’t help feeling that his future was looking incredibly bright.

With all those advantages, he would be damned if he couldn’t level up faster than ordinary warriors!

Then there was his Origin Blessing, which automatically increased his attributes every day, steadily strengthening him without requiring him to do anything at all.

The longer he remained alive, the stronger he would become.

When he combined that continuous growth with his Origin State, Flash, Telekinesis, and the other broken features of his system, the possibilities became almost absurd.

Orion was certain that within a month or so, he would have enough power to crush the Scourge Guild.

At least, that was what he believed.

By then, he would have no reason to fear them.

Of course, he still needed to be careful. He didn’t know the full extent of the guild’s strength, nor had he tested the limits of his own new abilities. But those were problems he could deal with when the time came.

For now, all he needed was to get out of the hospital.

Once he was discharged, he could finally start fighting, earning EXP, leveling up, and unlocking even more ridiculous features of his Origin System. The thought alone was enough to make his blood boil.

Orion smiled and leaned back against his bed, slowly closing his eyes. Yet, despite his attempt to relax, his heart continued racing with anticipation.

He really couldn’t wait to test out his new powers.

In fact, he was practically trembling with excitement!

For someone like Orion, who had spent so much time struggling against the limitations imposed on him, the opportunity to finally experience such overwhelming growth was almost intoxicating.

He wanted to know just how fast Flash could make him move and how much force his Telekinesis could exert. Most importantly, he wanted to experience the true might of his Origin State in actual combat.

Simply thinking about it made him grin even wider.

What Orion didn’t know, however, was that his wish was about to be granted, and sooner than he could have imagined.

...

Meanwhile, Katherine was still whistling, seemingly in an excellent mood, when her communication device suddenly rang.

She glanced at it and answered the call.

"What’s the matter?"

For a brief moment, she listened to the person speaking on the other end. Then her expression changed.

"What?"

Her previously relaxed face instantly became serious.

"Are they fools?! How can a bunch of low Basic-Level warriors enter a Level 15 dungeon?! Are they seeking death?!"

Her voice carried a rare trace of anger. Without wasting another second, Katherine ended the call and immediately stepped out of her car.

She glanced in the direction of the dungeon before her figure suddenly blurred.

Whoosh!

Relying entirely on her extraordinary speed, she blitzed forward at an insane pace, rapidly covering the distance between her position and the dungeon.

Under normal circumstances, she would have simply driven there. Unfortunately, her car was far too slow compared to her own movement speed, making it pointless to waste time when she could reach the destination much faster on foot.

As a Level 18 warrior, Katherine possessed physical capabilities far beyond those of ordinary people. Even among warriors of her level, her speed was something worth taking seriously.

Within approximately five minutes, she arrived at the location of the dungeon.

However, as soon as she arrived, her expression changed again.

This time, it wasn’t because of anger.

She realized she had arrived a little too late.

The dungeon gateway was swirling chaotically, its surface distorting as though something on the other side was violently struggling to break through. The previously green number displaying the dungeon’s level, 15, was now blinking red.

Katherine’s eyes narrowed as she recognized what it meant.

A dungeon break was about to occur!

"This is not good..."

She gritted her teeth, her previously relaxed demeanor disappearing completely. Without hesitation, she turned toward the two officials standing nearby.

Both men had pale faces, their eyes fixed on the unstable gateway as though they were watching a disaster unfold before their very eyes.

"Summon every warrior nearby!" Katherine ordered. "A dungeon break is about to occur!"

Her voice was sharp and commanding, leaving no room for hesitation.

The two officials snapped out of their daze.

"Y-Yes!"

They immediately reached for their phones and began spreading the message. Within moments, an urgent announcement was being relayed throughout the surrounding area.

"Attention, all warriors in and around Daylight City! Get to the dungeon immediately! A dungeon break is about to occur!"

The announcement was repeated again and again.

"I repeat! A dungeon break is about to occur! All available warriors are to assemble immediately!"

The atmosphere around the dungeon grew increasingly tense, and Katherine’s face was now as cold as stone. Her usual calm, amused smile had vanished without a trace.

A dungeon break was never good news. In fact, among the many dangers warriors faced, it was one of the most dreaded calamities they could encounter.

Clearing a dungeon was far better than dealing with a dungeon break.

When warriors entered a dungeon under normal circumstances, they could assess the situation, prepare themselves, and determine the pace of their advance. They could coordinate their movements, establish formations, and adapt their strategies according to the monsters they encountered.

Even when the dungeon was dangerous, they still had some degree of control over the situation.

A dungeon break, however, was an entirely different matter.

Once a dungeon broke, the monsters and beasts within it would pour into the outside world, bringing destruction and chaos wherever they went. The warriors would no longer have the luxury of choosing when or where to fight.

They would have to defend the surrounding area, protect civilians, and stop the monsters before they could spread into populated regions.

And the worst part was that the monsters and beasts emerging from dungeon breaks tended to be far more troublesome than their ordinary counterparts.

Many of them were consumed by bloodlust and madness, attacking everything in sight with little regard for their own safety. Their aggression made them harder to predict, while their relentless attacks made them even deadlier to deal with.

In other words, even monsters that might have been manageable under normal circumstances could become a nightmare during a dungeon break.

That was why every warrior dreaded such an occurrence.

Unfortunately, the situation before Katherine was particularly troublesome.

The dungeon was only Level 15, which shouldn’t have been too difficult for a group of experienced warriors to handle under ordinary circumstances. But once the dungeon broke, the level displayed at its entrance would no longer be enough to determine the true scale of the disaster.

Whatever emerged from the dungeon could cause chaos far beyond what its original level suggested.

There was a reason Katherine, a powerful Level 18 warrior, didn’t believe she could stop everything that might come out of it, at least not quickly enough to prevent the monsters from causing serious damage.

And every second they wasted would only make the situation worse.

Soon, warriors began arriving from the surrounding area. One after another, their figures appeared around Katherine until approximately thirty warriors had gathered.

They quickly formed a defensive line, positioning themselves to block the possible routes through which the monsters might escape once the dungeon break occurred.

Every warrior understood the gravity of the situation. Nobody was smiling or making jokes; their attention remained fixed on the unstable gateway, and their bodies were tense as they prepared for the battle that was about to begin.

Each warrior radiated a powerful aura, although most of them were still relatively weak compared to Katherine. The majority were Basic-Level warriors, with only a few having reached the Elite Level.

Even among those Elite-Level warriors, however, there was still a considerable gap between their strength and Katherine’s.

She stood at the head of the group, her expression unwavering as she surveyed the battlefield. As a Level 18 warrior, she was undoubtedly the strongest person present.

And whether she liked it or not, the responsibility of leading everyone through the coming disaster had fallen on her shoulders.

She couldn’t afford to make a mistake, not when the lives of so many people might depend on her decisions.

The swirling gateway suddenly began to change.

The red number above it blinked faster and faster, each flash becoming more rapid than the last. Then, without warning, it disappeared.

At the same moment, the chaotic green gateway collapsed inward.

Katherine’s pupils contracted.

"Brace yourselves!"
